Randomly came across the little shop and so glad I did! Had great fun making and shaping my own chopsticks. Staff are very friendly and attentive and the instructions are very clear. Would highly, highly recommend!

We had great fun making our own chopsticks here and can recommend this as a nice experience. You select the wood (they have various types) you want to use for your chopsticks then pay, then the process starts. You plane the chopsticks down to the right size and rough shape, then you sandpaper to make them smooth and finish with the addition of some oil. Very simple but quite satisfying. The staff are friendly and on hand to check your progress and provide help if needed.

It was a fun family activity and gave us a beautiful souvenir! Staff is friendly and helpful, my 12 year old could do it by herself. Price starts at 1700yen, depending on the wood you choose! Can definitely recommend!

Fun experience but the wood looks different from the example. I double checked i had the right wood because it already looked different at the start but the staff reassured it would look like the example after the oil. Unfortunately it did not, i am dissapointed that the grain and color look so different, especially because i asked about it before starting. I asked them about it afterwards and they kind of just brushed it off. I understand wood is a natural product and the grain and color might differ slightly but this just seems like a different type of wood. The experience was fun but i'm dissapointed with the outcome and communication of the staff.

The experience of making your own chopsticks is definitely something. You start by choosing your wood and the staff will explain the steps to shave the numbers on the wood. The staff can speak English if needed and the experience was very pleasant. The overall experience is around 30 minutes however mine took a lot longer as I chose the hardest wood on their list to shave. Each type of wood will have a star rating for the hardness. Choose a lower rating if you want a softer wood. After polishing and oiling, the colours pop so much. Definitely recommend if you are in the area!

This place is marvelous. They offer a really nice experience for the right price (the wood goes from 1600 to 4000ish based on the quality). You choose the wood that you prefer. After that, there is the shaving part, the levigating part and the oiling part. In the end you can package your newly chopsticks. The staff is really kind and it helps you from the beginning to the end, patiently. This is really a nice experience if you want to do something different. Just think about it for a gift, how many people can gift chopstick handmade by themselves from Japan?!

Really cool and unique experience. The prices are super reasonable too. Staff is nice and it’s great to have a pair of chopsticks with more meaning behind them because you make them yourself!
