I had siu mai, a special curry, and miso sauce cheesecake. Everything was delightfully flavorful without being overwhelming, and the textural contrasts were on point. A wonderful place with even more wonderful people!

Wow, so good! An exciting array of flavors and textures awaits you! Was really happy to find this gem randomly. Just opened in March of 2023, so very new. The red-haired waitress was super friendly and gave excellent recommendations (looking forward to your cat cafe!) I left stuffed after 4 dishes, 1 drink, and 1 dessert. 50€. Will definitely come again.

I have been here 2 times and I really enjoy a quick, healthy, delicious meal for an affordable price. The curry is the plate I like mostly, I also tried the veggie curry and is same good.

The chicken katsu curry was delicious! Very intimate tiny restaurant, book if you can, it was packed! The curry was very good and the service was good too A little bit overpriced compared to Japanese restaurants the Saint Anne tho

A small cute Japanese place with authentic Japanese home cooking! The pricing is slightly higher than the jp restaurants in the rue sainte Anne area, but I would say the food quality is better at Kitchen Izakaya. Highly recommended ! 👍

Great food, great service. Had braises pork belly with hommade mustard paste, cucumber salad and a bowl of plain rice, along with a glass of natural white vine. Vine was probably the least remarkable thing about the whole meal, but still top notch. Everything else worked so well in unison that I just had a huge grin on my face while eating. Pork was perfect, braised in this soya concoction that I could sip by itself. Cucumbers were dusted with crushed peanuts so it made every bite perfect. The mustard paste really elevated the main dish, and I can’t wait to come back and try out their carefully curated menu. Service was equally amazing, the waitress has a great sense of timing, being there when she needed to be and gave great advice on the food while never really going overboard. My desert stomach wasn’t functioning so I’m excited to try them out next time, especially the miso cheesecake. If I was to mentioned any improvements to be made, it would be a slight dress up of the restaurant to give it that full vintage Japanese in the wall feeling (maybe one neon sign) but I’m nitpicking.

I feel something missing in the menu. Can be good to have cocktails, maki roll, maybe grilled squid. I ordered chicken katsu. It’s nice but I think it’s expensive

We went with high hopes as I had seen the menu online and it looked legit. However it was a very disappointing experience. The good: the potato salad was good. The bad: the lemon sour, a typical simple japanese cocktail, was made with tonic water instead of soda. That's just not how it's made, and the strong tonic water taste takes over the drink. We took the big sashimi dish which comprised of 4 pieces of 4 different cuts of fish. Unfortunately the Toro, the fatty tuna, which should be the best cut, was chewy and uneatable. We complained and after speaking to the cook, the kind waitress came back telling us that that's how Toro normally is. I don't know if they saw my face or read my name in the reservation but surely they must've understood they couldn't bullshit me as I'm Japanese? Pretty crazy that they didn't admit it was a bad cut of fish. To make up for that they offered one tiny mochi ice cream, to divide between the two of us. The bill was 78€, all in all a very disappointing experience.
