Piinong Thai at Yonge and Lawrence is an absolute gem. The food is fantastic, filled with flavour, and clearly made with care, and authenticity. Every dish we tried was delicious and beautifully presented, making it hard to pick favourites. For first timers, I would definitely recommend the Sea and Land Tower (pictured below🤤) to share amongst friends to be able to try a little bit of everything. I would also have to say their soft shell crab curry and ALL their desserts are a must try as well. They really perfected their dessert menu, with the durian roti, and mango sticky rice being tied for favourites (pictured below). Adding to the amazing meal, service was also fantastic — friendly, attentive, efficient, and incredibly welcoming. Crossing paths with different servers throughout the night as our food came out, each one was knowledgeable on all the dishes as they were served, and had a joy and warmth to them that truly elevated our experience. Noting that our table also had a peanut allergy, which I understand is a reoccurring ingredient in Thai food, they handled everything with extreme care. We really appreciated that. Definitely would recommend this restaurant to everyone for amazing Thai food and great hospitality. Thank you Piinong Thai! I’m easily impressed when it comes to food, but coming from a Southeast Asian background, my standards are pretty high when it comes to Thai food. The food here was no less than exceptional, and packs so much flavour in every bite. They have quite an extensive menu—it was really difficult to narrow it down to 1 appetizer and 2 mains. We literally wanted to order 7 things. Ultimately, my partner and I decided to get the Crispy Mini Crab Larb, Crying Tiger Steak, and Seafood Thick Sauce on Fried Rice. I’ve never tried mini crab—the texture and flavours were amazing together. The sauce on the fried rice was savoury and flavourful, and they definitely do not skimp out on the seafood. The shrimp and mussels were perfectly cooked. My personal favourite part of the meal was the steak—cooked perfectly (medium rare—they didn’t ask how we wanted it cooked but I’m happy it was cooked the way it was), and it paired perfectly with the jaew sauce. The flavour of the jaew sauce sent me back in time and brought back so many memories of home. 🥰 Overall, an incredible meal and we can’t wait to come back to try lots more dishes! I also loved the attention to detail. The way the food is plated, the decor throughout the restaurant, the details on the cups? Absolutely stunning. The service was also on point. An honourable mention is the cute gift shop/grocery store when you walk in, and the Insta-worthy photo wall. Must visit!!!

I have had this place on my list for some time now, and their winterlicious menu felt like the perfect opportunity to make a reso and check it out with some friends. First of all the environment is vibrant, thai-inspired, and very fun! When you enter, you’re greeted by a mini thai-mart with snacks, beverages, knickknacks, clothing, and frozen curries and treats. Loved the distraction of exploring their products while we waited to be seated. We had made a reservation for 8:3pm, but the table wasn’t ready yet so we had to wait an additional 10-15 mins. The winterlicious menu was packed with variety, flavour, and very generous with portion sizes. My friends and i were very impressed by the authenticity of flavours and the quantity, as we had to pack some of our food to take home. At just $45 per person, this was well worth it! There’s also a thai massage place upstairs that does a combo deal with the restaurant. Who wouldn’t enjoy a traditional thai massage followed by a feast? Can’t wait to try that out next! Counting down the days until we can make our way back here.

I noticed this place as I drove by and thought it looked really cute. It is really nicely decorated which gives it so much personality. We arrived and immediately ordered the teddy drink. I ordered the mango one which came out relatively quickly (2 were ordered). When you receive the drink, it comes with the frozen teddy on ice, mango drink, popping boba in a shot glass, and a very thin straw. I felt like the straw that it came with should have been wider especially since you are offering boba with the drink. Really cute presentation but for $8 this is overpriced and not worth it at all as it tasted like rubicon mango juice. Spent most of the evening trying to poke the teddy with a straw to liquify it to have more of a drink. My two other girlfriends arrived and ordered the same. We also ordered our entrees and a salad. The first entree came out before the rest of everyone’s food. Then my other two friends received their food, the other two drinks arrived, then my food arrived. The order for how everything came out seemed really disorganised and lacked order. We had to remind them that we ordered a salad which came out while we were midway completing our entrees. We then ordered a dessert which was alright, however after we ordered the dessert no one came to our table at all to cash us out. The service is not great at this restaurant. I ordered the khao soi which was really nice and yummy. The papaya salad was really refreshing and The pad thai tasted really eggy to me. The pad gra pow (vegetarian) was delicious. Ordered the mango sticky rice for dessert and we enjoyed the different types of rice colours however we didn’t taste much of a difference. I personally loved the brown one The presentation of everything was nicely thought out.

The mango salad was especially amazing — fresh, flavourful, and perfectly balanced. The Pad Thai was tasty, and the shrimp glass noodles were cooked really well with a great mix of textures. We also loved the Thai tea; it had that rich, creamy flavour you hope for. The atmosphere is welcoming, and the staff were very kind, respectful, and attentive. It’s the kind of place where you feel taken care of from the moment you walk in. Overall, a really nice spot for authentic Thai food and a genuinely pleasant dining experience. Highly recommend.

Pii Nong has the best Thai food in Toronto! We came for winterlicious but we ended up ordering from the regular menu and were blown away by the taste and value! Every dish was amazing and they had so much flavour and looked beautiful! Our server was super kind and attentive, all the food came out quickly and it was so fresh! This is a great spot, we are definitely coming again with friends and family!

Went here for the first time. We had a reservation and didn't have to wait. (Recommend having a reservation as it was really busy). The food was authentic and amazing flavour. I've been to Thailand and it's the same. We had some specialty drinks, crispy chicken wings, pork, green curry, and pineapple fried rice. The staff was attentive enough. My only complaint would be it was a little cold. We were sat directly in front of the entrance. They could put a current up to stop the cold air getting in, just a suggestion. They have a little shop to get some soups and snacks and some retail items. Would definately go back and try more of the food.

Excellent Thai food and wonderful servers. I love the whole idea and highly recommend this place and their Thai massage upstairs. We'll be back! PROS: - Food! Great menu, loved the authentic dishes and drinks were fun. The fried mini crabs app was wonderful - their sauces are so well made, bursting with depth of flavor. Their chili oil is actually spicy which I really enjoyed! - well prepared and very well seasoned food. The dishes were also prepped with care and visually appealing. Everything looked and tasted fantastic! They know what they are doing - servers are sweet, friendly and attentive. It was a joy to dine in, the atmosphere was nice and inviting - great for large groups - we dropped in for dinner after an incredible Thai massage experience upstairs (also highly recommend) - Big bar area, outside there's a cute little Thai marketplace which I really enjoyed. I bought a few things too and they are delicious. - nice location with plenty of street parking CONS: - The prices. Some of the entries are expensive and in general their prices for Thai food are on the higher side. Everything in the marketplace was 3 to 4 times the price but they had good assortment of things. - The tom yum soup did not taste authentic like the taste I would expect. It was also too spicy which is not a thing for tom yum. But overall not bad - Paid $14 for the drunk teddy Thai tea but did not taste the vodka, just a shot of rum. - It's a noisy place. We were also sat next to a large group who were yelling and talking very loudly the entire time, while we tried to enjoy a nice family dinner. We ignored the obnoxious group, and still had a good time and really enjoyed the experience.

I first came across this place when I dropped in to see their miniature Thai market in the front. I resolved to return some day to try the good, and I did, and here is a review. I made a reservation through the web site, and was seated promptly. Service through the meal was efficient and pleasant. And nothing intrusive, like timing asking how your meal is when your mouth is full. I got Thai calamari, chili basil clams, and Street style Pad Thai. When I saw the calamari, I thought "Oh no! Thick breaded!" But it actually was quite light, and not greasy. The calamari was perfectly cooked, tender, but I didn't taste any chili or lime in the batter. But the accompanying lime basil dip was AMAZING! The clams were a mixed experience. They were cooked well, and the sauce was also AMAZING, but at the price point of the restaurant, I would expect a lot fewer broken shells, and that the kitchen would remove unopened clams before they served up the dish. To be fair, there was only one unopened clam, but quite a few broken shells. I did want to transport to a Vietnamese restaurant briefly to get a bahn mi bun to soak up the sweet, tangy, earthy sauce. The street style Pad Thai is rapidly becoming my favourite style. Too many suspiciously sauced reddish noodles in this town. Thos Pad Thai was sweet, smokey, and served at a temperature that showed it just came from a pan. Finally, my Lychee cocktail was quite delicious. It came with the meat if one Lychee nut skewered on the end of the little umbrella. Decor is mostly evoking a Thai world, with a small bit of ceiling looking like generic gastropub. My seat wasn't really near the front door, but I was a bit chilly for the first twenty minutes or so. All in all, I would definitely return again to try some of the other menu items.

We stopped by around 2 p.m. on a Saturday for a quick bite, and the place was bustling. Despite the crowd, we were seated promptly. A wedding party in the private dining room added to the lively atmosphere. I ordered the Thai milk tea, which arrived with an iced teddy bear and a small DIY condensed milk pour topped with a paper umbrella. It was a playful and charming presentation. The flavour was average, but the creativity and attention to detail were delightful. For food, we tried the chicken satay and the crispy pork belly satay -- I'd recommend the latter for its rich, smoky flavour. The chicken and shrimp Pad Thai leaned on the sweeter side but suited my taste well. The entrance is creatively inviting, designed like a small Thai grocery shop stocked with snacks, frozen foods, and merchandise. There's even a cute photo spot with two swings near the door. Overall, it's a fun and thoughtfully designed spot with creative dishes and friendly service. I'd love to return with a group to sample more of the menu. A great addition to the neighbourhood.

Excellent food and a real joy to have a Thai restaurant back in the neighbourhood. As an added bonus they have many of the speciality ingredients for sale in the front lobby boutique.

Love the decor of this restaurant and the selection on the menu. We had the fried fish dish and the pandan leaf chicken to share. My other friend ordered some other fried meat dish (forgot what he ordered) with an add on side of rice. Our dishes tasted great. While the pandan chicken is good and had great presentation, I'm not sure I tasted much of the pandan so probably would skip that for next time. The fried fish dish was like sweet and sour fish, pretty appetizing. We had the dishes alone to keep it low carb, though I think most would probably prefer adding a bowl of rice for purchase. Definitely recommend making a reservation at this spot especially on prime time dinner over the weekend as the restaurant quickly filled up when we left. We were given a 10 minute warning because another reservation was coming in after us. I mean we were pretty much finished with our food at that point and just chatting away and catching up so if you wanted more time to dine, this spot probably isn't ideal during Friday evening due to back to back reservations. Anyways, I did enjoy my experience and would be curious to try their noodle dishes next.

So good. One of the best Thai restaurants I have been to in the GTA. The teddy bear thai iced too was not overly sweet, and was one of the best thai iced tea I've had (even compared to the ones I've had in Thailand). The appetizers were the star of the show for me. The pork jowl - melt in your mouth and the sauce for it is spot on. The skewers - each one was deliciously grilled. The yum woo sen (glass noodle salad) was probably my favourite dish. So flavourful and refreshing. Coconut butterfly shrimp was good. The mains we tried softshell crab curry (the crab was really good), pad gra prow (this was pretty spicy, the flavours were great and not like other pad gra prows I've had), pad see ew (this was average for me), massaman curry (ok but not my fav).

Love the food, culture experience, and customer service of this place. Food came pretty fast. Food was delicious. I just want to order more and try different things on the menu. I came back twice. I definitely recommend this place.

This was my second time here and service and food was just as good as the first time. So this place is consistent with their food. Delish...flavourful...made with love and you can taste it The inside of the restaurant takes you to the motherland. Friendly and great service. They also have a small store on the side where you can purchase authentic snacks! Also a Thai massage parlour upstairs! One stop shop? Why not?

Walking by Pii Nong Thai, I'm not sure what attracts more people: the comforting emerald environment with table tops laden with food or the bright market right next door. Indeed, the store offers an array of snacks, condiments, and even merchandise. You know what they say about shopping hungry... if you're stuck waiting for a table, you may end up purchasing a lot of junk food. It's a cute and colourful environment that extends into their drinks. The teddy bear Thai milk tea ($8.99) graced many tables. A pitcher of rich and silky tea with a shot of evaporated milk to allow diners to customize its creaminess. The drink is a tad pricy but lasts the entire meal - it's a generous portion complete with a bear made from tea so it doesn't dilute the drink as it melts. The pandan chicken ($18.99) is a great protein packed starter. Essentially a small palm-sized piece of seasoned chicken thigh that's quickly fried in the leaf. While there wasn't much pandan flavour, the leaf did add a slight aromatic quality to the chicken. Same goes for the grilled pork jowl ($18.99) that's listed as an appetizer but large enough to work as a main. Served with a cylinder of sticky rice, the huge slab of pork is lightly grilled and simply adorned with diced shallots, cilantro, and chilis. It's served with a tangy tamarind jaew sauce that adds a hit of acid to lighten up the meat. For something to munch on with beer, the crispy mini crab larb ($17.99) acts like popcorn shrimp but featuring thumb sized crustaceans instead. Almost like soft shell crab but crispier, the fried morsels are dusted with a sweet and salty spice and tossed with herbs and chili. For the tried and true, their crispy chicken spring roll ($9.99) combines ground chicken, vermicelli, and vegetables to create a dense sausage like filling wrapped in crispy rice paper. So thrilled to celebrate Songkran Festival (Thai New Year) at Piinong Thai ! I soaked up the thailand vibes and indulged in their limited-time menu, available now through May 30th--don't miss it! (Kuai Tiao Ruea) - This boat noodle hotpot features a bold, spicy broth loaded with a medley of tender beef cuts. Rich, aromatic, and comforting. (Ruam Mit) - A classic Thai dessert with chewy jellies, sweet beans, and icy coconut milk. Served cold, it's the perfect tropical treat to cool down in summer. ‍ (Nam Daeng Manao Soda) - A fizzy red drink with a citrusy twist of lime and grapefruit. Super refreshing and great with spicy dishes! (Miang Kham) - A fun and flavorful Thai street snack. You wrap various ingredients--like peanuts, dried shrimp, lime, ginger--inside (Bai Cha Plu) leaves (wild pepper leaves). Chef Piinong told us it's a crowd favorite during Songkran, often sold on bustling streets. (Flying Durian Roti) - My personal favorite! Warm, crispy roti filled with creamy, sweet durian--made from Chef Piinong's family recipe. A total treat.

Having just returned from Thailand, my cravings for bold, authentic Thai flavors were running high--so I was excited to check out Pii Nong Thai, especially after seeing their vibrant social media presence promising a taste of the real thing. The space has a casual charm, and the menu features all the familiar favorites you'd expect from a Thai kitchen. We were asked about our preferred spice level and requested it Thai-style spicy--a bold move that speaks to the restaurant's willingness to cater to different palates. While the dishes we tried leaned on the milder side compared to what we experienced in Thailand, they were still enjoyable and thoughtfully prepared. There's definitely care in the presentation, and the flavors, while more subtle, offer a good introduction for those just getting into Thai cuisine. I think Pii Nong Thai has great potential, especially for diners looking to explore Thai food in a comfortable, approachable setting. With a little more consistency in service and confidence in turning up the heat, it could really shine. For now, it's a solid option with room to grow--and I'd be open to coming back and trying more from the menu.

Pii Nong takes Thai cuisine in Toronto to a whole other level. Remember when Pai was new and it was all the rage? Don't get me wrong, I still love Pai, but Pii Nong brings something interesting, something new to the Thai food experience in the city - and I am here for it! Firstly the menu is quite intense! There are so many "new"/inventive dishes that I don't ususally see at most Thai restaurants. I started off with a cocktail... I can't recall the exact name, but it was the tom yum one...with the red chili... balanced to perfection! We started with the Grilled Chicken Satay, and it had the right amount of char, with a hint of smokiness, while encompassing the classic flavors. My friend had one of the curries (I can't recall) but it was delicious! But I have to say I made the perfect choice with my Nam Tok Grilled steak salad. Maybe it's a variation of larb... but it was light, flavourful, and just what I was looking for to meet my daily protein goals. I am genuinely looking forward to coming back asap. I've got my eyes on at least 6 dishes that I want to try.

If you only take one recommendation from me, make this one it! You gotta visit this Thai spot that has 10K square feet of market, restaurant, and spa (opening in March). The food was delicious, presentation was amazing, and the service was so dedicated and sweet. Everything is so good here. It's the first restaurant-market-spa all in one spot. The spa service (massages) will open in March 2025. The service was great. It's a big space and even private room that can hold like 30 people o in there. Everything we had was great!! Will definitely come back.

Food was excellent and the service was great! When we first walked in, it's a small marketplace (I thought it would have been bigger) - it more like a convenience store. We ordered: - chicken pad Thai - Thai milk tea (with a bear) - mango sticky rice - wonton soup There were a couple of other items we had wanted to order, however they were all out of it (shocking for a Saturday afternoon). The pad Thai was really tasty - one of the best we have had. The Thai milk tea is very cute with bear. And the mango sticky rice was really pretty - with the multi colours... and it was delicious! The wonton soup was great too! My son finished it! The menu looked amazing and there were so much more food we wanted to try! Will definitely be back! The servers were super nice and friendly!

Gave this place a try to see how good it is. Decor was nice, and there is quite a bit of food options to try. Here was what we ordered: Thai Ice Tea Bear- $8 (standard taste) Sugarcane Juice- $4.5 (standard taste but not fresh as its out of juice carton) Grilled Pork Jowl- $19 (not tender and a bit tough to chew and digest) Pak boon Fai Deng- $20 (forgot about this dish) Street Pad Thai w/ crispy pork belly- $24 (good taste and its paired good with crispy pork belly but a bit expensive) Softshell Crab Curry- $33 (good taste but not worth the price for soft shell crab) Durian Flying Roti- $20 (nice taste dessert but again bit pricey) Service is casual and selective as its a lot of young staff.

Quick service. Great dishes. Very clean and aesthetic atmosphere. The Panang curry was incredible.

This lunch was flawless, no notes. The crab larb appetizer was unreal; a huge pile of soft shell crabs lightly fried and served with larb seasonings and garnishes. It was around $17 and easily enough for a few people (we had two people and devoured it as an appetizer). The khao soi was amazing; next time I'm going to get the fancier one with the extra beef rib. Super generous portion as well. The pork belly with green beans was also really great. Service was lovely and attentive. Food came out fast as hell. Nice chill vibe. I literally can't wait to return.

Went here with my family and we were all blown away by how delicious everything was. Every dish was packed with flavour and beautifully presented. The service was amazing. The staff were so sweet, friendly, and informative, which made the whole experience even better. The ambiance was cozy and charming, such a cute spot. One of my favorite parts was the little Thai market attached to the restaurant. It added a really authentic touch and was fun to browse after our meal. Highly recommend if you're craving amazing Thai food in a welcoming space.

We went to the Yonge St location for a Friday date night. Restaurant is nicely decorated with a modern Thai theme. When we arrived at 6:45 we were greated and shown to our reserved table by a cheery hostess. The room noise was lively but did not interfere with conversation. Cocktails were delivered quickly. But the busy restaurant meant it took awhile to get our order placed and delivered. Service was friendly all though slow. Dishes were as ordered, with generous sizes and lovely flavors, but not Thai 'hot'. We ordered an appetizer and three dishes for the two of us. We ended up taking one dish home with us. We had a fun evening and will return. Plan to Spend $100 per person with cocktails and wine, tip extra.

Pii Yong has a warm and delightful atmosphere. I simply can't wait to go back. The Thai cuisine was superb, and I would even go as far to say it is the best I've ever had in Toronto. It's one of the top Thai restaurants in Toronto. The crispy beef, Pandan chicken, grilled jowl, and Pad Thai were my top picks. Each bite was truly reminiscent of authentic Thai cuisine.

From the moment you walk into Pii Nong, you know you're in for something special. The vibe is vibrant but cozy, the service is attentive yet relaxed, and the food... oh my goodness, the food. We started with the pandan leaf chicken -- juicy, perfectly marinated thigh wrapped in fragrant pandan leaves and lightly fried to golden perfection. It set the tone for what would be a mind-blowing meal. The deluxe sea & land tower is a showstopper. Three epic tiers of grilled meats, raw seafood, crispy baby crabs, and skewers that made everyone around us do a double-take. It's generous enough for a group but honestly, I'd come back and order it just for me. One standout dish was the braised beef rib khao soi -- rich, velvety curry broth with tender, fall-apart short rib and crispy egg noodles. Comfort food meets culinary excellence. We couldn't leave without dessert, and the Chef Nong's Signature Mango Sticky Rice was hands-down the best I've had. Beautiful presentation with naturally colored sticky rice, silky coconut cream, and a mango rose that's almost too pretty to eat (almost).

Every dish was packed with flavor and super fresh. The Tom Yum soup was spicy, tangy, and so comforting. The raw marinated shrimp was super fresh with a nice kick, and the dipping sauce made it even better. The seafood pasta had the perfect mix of spice and richness--so good! Everything was cooked just right, and the flavors were on point. Definitely one of my new favorite Thai spots!

This restaurant is newly open on Yonge Street but has been my favourite restaurant since the first location in Bayview ,food is authentic and delicious,excellent service and well decorated by Thai owners!

Service is fabulous! Food is at par with the service! I don't think there's anything on the menu that isn't delicious. We always order way too much cos we just cannot decide. You are missing out if you don't try this place!

We were anxious to try this new restaurant in our neighborhood. I checked the menu online and was very impressed by the coloured photos of the dishes. I ordered takeout. The spring rolls were tasteless, hot and sour was inedible because it was too spicy, the short ribs were fair, but an order was tiny for the price they charged. The only dish that was okay was the pad thai. I would not go back. I am so disappointed. Don't waste your money
