"Seoul Flea Market Seoul's Folk Flea Market is a place where you can buy anything, I mean anything! This scary contraption looks like an invention of a comic book super-villain, but for the small price of 5 dollars you could be tightening those crow's feet and zapping imperfections in no time! Huzzah! This is truly a special market—with more random wingdings than your grandparents' attic. To get to the flea market, head to Sinseoldong Station on the light green line, Line 2. I recommend exit 10. After exiting, execute a U-turn, then walk straight for about 20 feet, take a right and walk straight for 280m. Along the way you will see vendors on the street and signage guiding you to the main building."

The Best Places to Shop in Seoul

Flea Markets are my absolute love and weakness. If so for you as well, this place is a must-visit. Be prepared to see many shops with modern (probably made in China) goods as well, but pass by them, they are not worth any attention. As for the antiques, there are lots of Asian and European items, kind, mostly elderly sellers. Not so high prices, especially if you are a good haggler. Had a success buying some century old statuettes and theater masks.

This place could be a museum but it’s not really good for buying any souvenirs as a tourist as most items are massive and heavy. Vendors weren’t interested much on negotiating or haggling prices. They seem to just be waiting for those high spenders who turn up and buy-buy-buy without a care in the world.

If you're looking for odds and ends, 2nd hand items from hardware tools, to bikes and clothing. It's all here. There is even a section for more fun and intimate items for everyone. Not sure if they are 2nd hand or not 🫣😜 There is a food court on both the upper and ground floors with the ground floor being the larger one. There are many stalls outside the flea market also. For those who aren't interested in the shopping experience and have been dragged along for the experience, there are plenty of snack and drink options along the way. There are certainly a lot of stalls here to keep you occupied for many hours.

You can find almost everything there. If you are looking for backpacks maybe this is the place. Two floors with tools, clothes, sport gear, musical instruments, furniture.....

This place is rather disappointing if you go there Mon-Fri. It's 30% fake goods like tshirts and bags, 30% new things straight from China, 30% old stuff far too big to buy and take with you if you're a tourist, 5% used not-very-vintage overpriced clothes and maybe 5% things that are actually interesting like old coins or small ceramics. There were far more sellers than buyers and I have never seen a flea market SO empty on Friday afternoon. On weekends when the market merges with the Dongmyo Flea Market it's much better!

Nice to pop by if you are in the neighborhood but I wouldn't recommand going only for the market. I felt the prices were extremely high, even for all the fake products. But that might have to do with me being a tourist. On the top floor, they have a section that shows you what older stores used to look like in Seoul, pretty cool to check out !

Some of the vendors here sell new stuff, mostly clothes, some of them specialise in different things like fishing, numismatic, antiques, vinyl, jewelry, repairs of different kinds, and so on, and the rest is... Junk. You really have to look and dig around certain stalls to find something worth your while and money. If you are a tourist and not really looking for clothes, this place is more for looking than buying. The stands stretch all around the designated building. Sometimes, things are just on the ground as people are trying to get rid of things. Sometimes, the prices are a bit steep for a flea market, so haggling is recommended. Parking lot by the market is pricey, so consider taking a bus.

A little bit of everything and...a lot of nothing(?). Interesting to browse from a cultural and recent historical perspective. A good way to spend an hour or two, but not sure I would make a special trip or go much out of my way to see it.
