"Taste of Lisboa Lisbon foodie Filipa Valente is the hotshot behind Taste of Lisboa’s culinary tours, which take visitors a bit off the beaten path to some of the city’s most fashionable—but often overlooked by guidebooks—neighborhoods. With nary a tourist in sight, she leads guests around the wonderful Campo de Ourique area and its classic market for tasty alheira sausage croquettes, Portuguese-style mussels, and some seriously decadent chocolate cake. Of course, Valente also offers tours to more-traditional districts, but you can’t beat Campo de Ourique for a sampling of local treats."

My wife & I, along with our 22 year old son took the Taste of Lisbon tour on Aug. 23. The tour, led by Daniela, was simply outstanding. Daniela was engaging, insightful & spirited during the entirety of our time with her, demonstrating her passion for and deep knowledge of the food, wine, culture & people of Lisbon/Portugal. We enjoyed the tour so much, we hated for it to end even after walking around the city for nearly four hours on a warm August afternoon. Daniela is not only the best tour guide of our two-week trip that included Barcelona, Girona & San Sebastián Spain and Porto & Lisbon Portugal, but she’s also a wonderful, warm and personable individual who loves sharing her excitement about the cuisine, history & culture of her city. Everywhere we went, people stopped her in the streets, restaurants and shops to greet her. Thanks so much, Daniela, for such an extraordinary tour of your beloved city!

The food tour was great! Pedro did a great job of mixing the history of Lisbon while taking us to some delicious eateries around the city. Throw in his singing and his terribly funny dad jokes and you’ll be guaranteed to have a great time!

We had a wonderful experience with the knowledgeable, enthusiastic, entertaining Daniel. This tour was the highlight of our Lisbon visit. It is an absolute must do on the visit to the city. Only a local would know where to eat and take in the flavor of the city as well as the food.

Pedro was great! So knowledgeable and relaxed. He has a good sense of humor and kept history entertaining for our young adult kids. We enjoyed his choice of locations and feel like we saw so much more than we could have explored on our own. He also showed us the elevators which made all the difference for navigating Lisboa!

By far, the best food, culture, and history tour I’ve ever experienced. Dani was fantastic and her passion for Lisbon was undeniable! I highly recommend.

Daniel was the best guide ever! Right up there with the guides we’ve had on Viking Cruises! Informative, knowledgeable, humorous, personable, energetic - he was all of these and more. We enjoyed his tour so very much much!! Kudos to Daniel!

Had a wonderful walking food tour with Raquel. You try several local foods including the famous Pastel de Nata and the Bifana pork sandwich. She also provided historical background to the neighborhoods and dishes. We always enjoy food tours when we travel because you find places you might otherwise walk past, like a restaurant with Mozambique and Indian roots with amazing samosas! Highly recommended!
