Caribbean Islands Will Begin Reopening to Americans in June

"On the other side of St. Lucia, at Duke’s Place in Gros Islet—a fish grill where locals and visitors dine seaside on Friday and Saturday nights—owner Erwin David thinks it would be better not to rush reopening to travelers from hard-hit places, like the U.S. and Europe."

Listen, please get there early bc the line will get long quickly. I had the fish with rice and they put some type of garlic sauce on it. Yummy! Super affordable and fresh. They also have drinks. The views are amazing--overlooking the beach. Definitely check it out and support local restaurants.

Amazing - if you're here on a Friday, the fish BBQ is amazing. We arrived at 5:30pm and were served straight away. Some of the best fish we've ever had for about £10 a head. Incredible vibe, music, and others selling local juices to have with it as well. Go to Duke's Place!

My first meal in St Lucia. It was amazing. Just BBQ fish & rice bit of salad and tongue tingling garlic sauce. It was great! If you are in the area Friday or/and Saturday you must try. The meal was 30ec$

A friend and I were looking for a local place to get lunch after a long day of exploring. The grilled fish, potato salad and yellow rice with the garlic sauce was delicious. The ladies assisting with fixing the food weren't welcoming or pleasant. I was visiting and not aware of the ordering process or menu. It would've been helpful to have a viewable menu. The overall taste of the food was hot and delicious.

I have never had smoked fresh fish on this level. The green fig salad and the rice is good. The lambi is good....the service is good. Did I say a went back the next day....yeah it was just that good.

Duke’s was recommended to me, but to be honest I found it without realising this was the place; I was bamboozled by the huge queue of people waiting patiently. I asked a local and she said it was the best place to eat and she isn’t care about the wait. That was enough for me together with the queue. So I waited. And waited. The queue behind me continued to grow. This place doesn’t stop. When we got close to the front, we had to wait for a freshly grilled batch of barracuda to come off the grill. You can have your fish with rice or bread and salad and they offer a garlic sauce on the fish, which I was told by my family was delicious. My family ate every bit of it and plan to come back again! A must for Fish Friday visitors. Don’t worry about the queue, soak up the environment!

Excellent, I had fish and rice, the quantity is really generous and the fish was a real treat! So Affordable! You can try it, you won't be disappointed!

Great food at a great price (more than you can eat for about $12), with a great vibe on a weekend night. Was much more chill than the Bourbon St vibes going on elsewhere in the town. You may need to wait a while on line to get your food, though the in an out time was very similar to eating in a traditional restaurant, and you're outdoors in Paradise with a mix of locals and tourists. Also discovered the allure of Piton Vibes Rum and Pineapple and Coconut drinks here. Man they are good, and if I didn't have to get on a 2 hour ferry the next morning it could have spelled real trouble!
