Τελεφερίκ Λυκαβηττού [Κάθοδος]

We thought this would be a good idea.. it wasnt. A tourist trap I’d say, the view was okay. Regret paying €10 each to go up in the lift thing. The lady at the desk was fairly direct and impatient, however her English was very good. We ended up walking back down the hill despite getting a return ticket. If you go.. walk up and down it’s not as daunting as it looks.

The view from the top is gorgeous. There is a cable car that takes you up the hill for 10 euros. There ia a little church on the hill. You can come down from the hill by foot. Then you can see the cactuses. There is also a restaurant on the top. Definetly worth a visit.

Ok this place is definitely worth checking out. I don't know why there are all those negative reviews, it's a cool historical funicular which has a cool view at the top of the whole city. The restaurant and bar are full service and reasonable tourist prices. It's significantly higher up than the rest of the city, you literally look DOWN onto the Acropolis. I would recommend this to anyone who's a genuine tourist and wants to see the city. It really puts into perspective the density and size of the city, and it's a perfect place to watch the sunset.

Don’t bother with this lift. It’s just an indoor lift and the hill isn’t that bad to go up by yourself. You’ll enjoy the view. The “cable car” is overpriced. Very bad experience.

Don’t waste your money. Lady front desk doesn’t know how to treat the people and also the guy upstairs . Hill top dirty , no soup on restrooms, dirty and definitely everything needs a maintenance. Cable car inside seems like a steam room , no air even fan. 1 star for to view on the top

The Lycabettus Hill Funicular is a funicular in Kolonaki, Athens. If you don't want to easily walk down the Lycabettus Hill, this is the best option for you! It has a decent price and can get you down the hill reasonably fast. The only issue there really is with it is with the scheduling. The funicular only departs once every half hour and once the other funicular arrives at the station, it stays there for a long time and you can't get in until only 2 minutes or so before departure. It isn't too terrible, but they could've scheduled it more efficiently now, couldn't they?

Beware of the station manager at the top of the funicular. He is very rude and likes to pick a fight with customers. He's a discrace for everyone who takes pride in working in the public transport industry. Better walk up and down. It's not that far and it's beautiful.
