I am bald, and during my visit to the pool with my family, I was stopped by the pool staff who informed me that I must wear a swimming cap before entering the pool. Based on the information I’ve obtained from Google, wearing a swimming cap is primarily for hygiene reasons related to hair, and therefore may not be necessary for someone without hair. I hope the hotel can provide better training for their staff to understand the purpose of swimming caps and apply the rule with some flexibility in situations like this. Side Notes The main reason swimming pools require you to wear a swimming hat (or swim cap) is to maintain hygiene and protect the pool’s filtration system. Here are the key reasons in detail: Hygiene and cleanliness – Hair can carry dirt, oil, and hair products (like conditioner or gel) that contaminate the water. A swim cap helps reduce this, keeping the pool cleaner. Prevent clogging the filtration system – Loose hair can shed into the water and get trapped in filters or drains, which makes maintenance harder and can damage equipment. Better swimming performance – Swim caps reduce water resistance, helping swimmers move more smoothly and efficiently (especially important in lap pools or competitions). Protect your hair – It shields hair from chlorine and other pool chemicals that can cause dryness or damage. Safety and visibility – In some pools, brightly colored caps make swimmers easier to see for lifeguards, improving safety. So overall, while it might feel like a rule about appearance or uniformity, the main reason is hygiene and pool maintenance, with added benefits for performance and safety. *And I didn’t see anyone take a brief rinse before entering the pool.

We had a great time there. It has been 5 years since we were last there. My boy was too little to enjoy all the facilities. This hotel is wonderful for a 7-year-old. The hotel is very close to a beach with a rich marine ecology. The breakfast was nice, and the menu changed every day when we were there. Our room is clean. If I have to be nitpicking, I think the hotel needs to do better maintenance for its facilities, especially the pool deck. No one wants to get hurt walking on it. If the hotel had more elevators, it would be nicer, too. Anyway, we would love to go there again when the price is right.

This hotel kinda has the same problems that a lot of hotels in Taiwan have It's a very beautiful location and there are lots of wonderful amenities. But a lot of parts of the hotel are run down/water damaged and could use serious renovation. The wroom was fine, nice bath. Vanity had some water damage and probably needs replacing. The beds were AWFUL. Hard as rocks. Insanely uncomfortable. The pools (and there are multiple!) are all very nice. The kids area could use some repairs as some of the functions the kids are supposed to play with no longer work. There was a walkway with fish you can fees. The kids indoor play area it's pretty decent. Ball pit, slide, lot sof books and toys... Some of the toys were broken. And the cleanliness is subpar. There was a dead crab in one corner and my kids said there were dead bugs in the ball pit. The kids outdoor play area was very nice. Looks pretty newly installed. The dinner buffet was subpar. Some of the items were ok, but a lot, were inedible. The onion pancake was terrible. And the kids didn't even like the french fries . Cakes were basic and low quality but the ice cream was good. I'm allergic to seafood, so I couldn't try many of the dishes. The sirloin and pork knuckle was pretty good and the ice cream was good. Breakfast was better, there was a vegetarian section, fresh eggs cooked in front of you. Etc. I felt the breakfast was way better than the dinner. The shops on site are nice and not over priced compares to outside. I didn't take many photos, watching kids makes it difficult.

The rooms a bit dusty and rundown. Perhaps due to unit same as road level. Balcony is facing the road, of course covered by a row of plant and bushes. Overall quite satisfied especially the sea view restaurant, though the breakfast varieties are limited.

We recently stayed at the YOHO Hotel, and while there were a few positive aspects, the overall experience was deeply disappointing, particularly given its supposed 4-star rating. Here's a breakdown of my stay: The staff was a highlight, as they were friendly and welcoming. However, their limited English proficiency made communication challenging at times. Thankfully, this wasn’t a major issue, as their warmth and willingness to help bridged the gap. The breakfast was simple and acceptable but fell far short of 4-star expectations. The selection was limited, and the quality was average at best, resembling something you’d expect from a budget hotel rather than a higher-end property. The condition of the rooms was a significant letdown. They were outdated, with visible signs of wear and tear, and the cleanliness was subpar. It’s clear that little effort has been made to maintain or refresh the accommodations, which felt neglected and far below the advertised standard. The state of the public areas was nothing short of disgraceful. The building itself is in poor condition, with many areas appearing old, dirty, and poorly maintained. The pool area was particularly off-putting, with grime and neglect evident throughout. The fitness center was the worst offender—moldy, filthy carpets and disgusting, outdated equipment made it unusable. It’s shocking that such facilities are offered to guests, and I suspect they would fail any proper health or safety inspection. Adding to the disappointment, some areas posed safety risks. The wooden stairs, for instance, were partially broken, making them hazardous and easy to trip on. This level of neglect is unacceptable for any hotel, let alone one claiming a 4-star status. The hotel is grossly overpriced for what it offers. The management seems focused on squeezing money out of a dilapidated property without investing in necessary upkeep or renovations. This approach leaves guests with a substandard experience that doesn’t justify the cost. Overall: I would not recommend the YOHO Hotel, nor would I return. While the friendly staff was a small redeeming factor, the outdated rooms, filthy public areas, hazardous conditions, and abysmal facilities make this a place to avoid. For the price, you can find far better options that actually deliver on quality and comfort. Save your money and look elsewhere.

Great position and big resort with lots to do and see. Buildings and pools are looking a bit old and could do with a facelift but still pretty good place to visit.

This is a massive resort which is geared to cyclists and families. There are plenty of activities for kids, including pools with slides and lazy river. The staff are great, really going above and beyond. However, the facilities are quite dated and maintainance is poor. Unkept gardens, broken tiles, pools a bit grubby and rooms that would benefit with a lick of paint and new bathrooms. The resort is also quite isolated which means you really need a car to get around. Our kids loved the place so i would probably recommend it on that basis but don’t expect any sort of luxury

Yelp
Yoho is a beach resort that caters to Taiwanese families. The hotel is gigantic complete with multiple buildings and a sprawling pool that flows from one end of the complex to the other. There is a small waterfront area- but it's very rocky. I didn't really like staying here for a few reasons. 1. Because it's geared towards families things were a bit noisy. There was always music or big groups of people. Even from my room I could hear cheesy ktv which made relaxing difficult. There was no where one can just chill out. 2. There is very little around the hotel which is right off a busy road. You can't walk to much of anything so expect a 15 min car ride to Kenting for anything. 3. The rooms are not bad but pretty dated- especially the bathrooms. Balcony is a nice touch but the glass does not seal allowing a lot of noise in from outside. 4. Breakfast is large but just so so. On the plus side- staff are friendly and the resort has a cool koi pound. Overall though, Yoho just was not for me.
