Forward Craft & Coffee

This spot has great coffee, im a bug fan of their espresso drinks and that they put my cortado in a cute fancy glass. I like the variety of seating options and the spaciousness of the atmosphere and there's a great selection of board games and card games! Ive not tried their alcohol selection but it also looks like rich quality and variety.

Blueberry muffin was so good. Ordered a latte with whole milk but when I tried it, it was very watery. Said it was due to whole milk used which didn’t make sense..I’ve had others with skim milk that taste great. Had to buy another shot of espresso to make it better. Not the worse but not rushing to go back.

We’ve sampled a lot of cafes in Madison and this is definitely right up near the top of the list. Excellent ambiance, great lattes, and great service! Had the breakfast burrito and the granola. Both top notch! Would again.

A really great experience I had on Sunday morning around 10:00AM. I got an iced Americano and the espresso was solid. They have a lot of different seating options and areas so whichever spot is more ur vibe you can find here. They also have beer and cider at night, I would go back sometime to try this part out in the future. One thing I will comment on is how hard the baristas worked. There were just two of them and they were moving and grooving all over the place, they could have probably used a third person!! Overall great time and I will be back.

EDIT: now I know to insist on ordering hot water from the machine, and so far they have been accepting of that. So I’m happy. Changing my review. ORIGINAL: This is not a problem I have with you alone, but it is a problem: You cannot brew black tea with a thermos of hot water. The water needs to be boiling, or very close to boiling. I've been told that hot water from the machines is hard on the machines, fine, then I would not serve hot black tea in that case. Or I would reheat black tea that was properly brewed earlier. To make hot black tea, you need boiling water, and around 3-6 minutes of brewing time - too much more and it gets too bitter, too much less and it tastes watery and weak. Water temperature presents the same problem - too cold and you kind of ruin the very nice tea leaves you have. Thank you. Happy Holidays. Sorry for complaining, I'll just order chai next time.

This place is so chill. I love to come here to study. The cold brew is phenomenal and the chairs are actually comfortable.

Neighbor gathering spot for locals. As an out of town visitor we did not feel a welcoming atmosphere. We ordered coffee drinks (we ordered hot they came cold) not mixed well and you had to point your straw in certain directions to make it test half way decent.

The instant I walked into the sitting area with the fireplace, I knew this gonna be my new favorite coffee spot for this Winter.
