The Best Bars in Athens for Wine, Tapas, and Acropolis Views | Condé Nast Traveler

"This Gallo-Greek wine bar brings minimalist chic to a sunny pedestrian street with red tables topped by white tablecloths and vintage maroon chairs, and focuses on low-intervention wines alongside a short, pricey food menu of bistro classics—pâté, rillettes, soft-boiled eggs with mayo—while hosting kitchen takeovers and pop-ups. It’s no-reservations, the street corner is great for loitering with a glass, and custom wooden speakers provide an eclectic soundtrack from hip hop to ZZ Top." - Rachel Howard, Katie Silcox

I am stunned to say that the tuna entree was my favorite. May not still be on the menu, but 🤷🏻‍♂️ I like sitting inside for the vibe - playlist fits great

My Favorite Wine Bar in Athens! I can’t stop recommending this place. Every visit in the area, I’m coming here either just for a drink or either for drink and food. Everything here is 💯💯💯! You need to come with lots of patience because the line for a table can be long.. if you’re coming back just for a drink and don’t mind to stand, you can drink on the table in the front.

You cannot beat the atmosphere here. I walked up right at opening and got a table outside for myself. I thoroughly enjoyed my evening drinking wine, eating delicious food, reading my book, and people watching. Friendly service and great energy.

Wine is fine is a great restaurant tucked away from the main roads, with a nice corner spot in beetwen two streets. The atmosphere is very relaxing and lively. The food was amazing - especially the cacio e pepe, the sea bass with fava beans, and the delicious culiflower with egg. The service was top knotch - the staff was kind, attentive and had great wine reccomendations that paired with the food beautifully. Overall we had an amazing experience.

Love this wine bar. We visited Athens for the first time and ended up at WINE IS FINE – the food was 🫶🏼 and the atmosphere is a 10/10. Service as well, we felt super comfortable. I hope this won’t be my last visit 🥲

Such a disappointment. I’ve been looking forward to trying this place out and it was such a waste. The tartare was uneatable with huge chunks of meat and no flavor. The steak is said to be “pan fried” but it seemed boiled and tasted fishy. Not sure how you can mess up a steak so badly, but they did. The salad was bland and underwhelming to put it nicely. Only go if you want wine or bread, but there’s a church up the street for that.

I’d say it is the only place you need to know in Athens if you like really good simple food and natural wines. Setting is beautiful with very relaxed service.

Wow, amazing place we found, full of locals. We are told to get there early., At 7pm there was already a wait list and it kept getting bigger thru the evening, like 10+ on the wait list. Food was amazing and wine selection also. Visit early.

Got two glasses of wine with meat, cheese and bread. The quality of the food was superb and the staff were very knowledgable about the wine when introducing to the table. All the wine we tried was fantastic
