Union Station

Union Station is beautiful inside. We took the light rail from Denver airport to Union Station for only $10 per person. That's an amazing price since Denver airport is so far from downtown. It's easily a 5/5 for convenience to get to and from the airport. You simply just purchase a ticket at one of their machines. The ride to the airport is about 30 minutes. There's a variety of restaurants and stores in here. I saw a wine bar, ice cream shop, hotel, book store, coffee shop. It has it all. It can get crowded but I always found a seat while waiting for my tour to pick me up at the front entrance. There are plenty of restaurants all around the area also.

Stunning location and my only regret is not having enough time to explore it. I plan to check it more when I come back to Denver. In the meantime, take care of it and I'll update my review when I visit it again.

Bring back the previous security guards. The new security guards are rude, obnoxious and make for a very unpleasant time at this beautiful historic Denver location. Also the entire security personnel needs to be educated on ADA laws regarding services animals. They act like they're above Federal Laws and are eventually going to get Union Station sued over violations of ADA laws. Actually surprised that hasn't happened already. The staff at all the various businesses inside Union Station are extremely courteous and very helpful.

Everything about this station takes you back in time! The preserved outside architecture and pristine inside design is much appreciated. I really liked all the historical photos and notes throughout. Note; we went during the holidays and the added festive decor was a nice touch

I love this place during Christmas time! A gorgeous, restored historic building with a modern feel, a "must-see" in Denver. Great restaurants, bar near by and inside. Clean and comfortable. Nice atmosphere.

We took the train in from the airport and were greeted by Denver Union Station. It's beautiful inside and the lights on the outside at night were iconic. We didn't spend too much time here, but we were so thankful that travelling by train was so easy for the trip. We didn't even rent a car, we just hopped on a few trains and took a couple Uber rides. If you're visiting I would definitely recommend checking it out and travelling by train here.

Beautiful ambience & decor! During Christmas the tree is absolutely stunning with lights outside. Great eat options, bars, coffee, ice cream & small shops .

Union Station is pretty cool these days. There are good restaurants and shops, my son loves the fountains in the summer and the giant teeter totters they've got out now are super fun. We were in last weekend to meet friends traveling through to CA by train. The decorations were beautiful and really put one in the holiday spirit. Unfortunately one of the station staff was having a really bad day. She got on us about standing in one place for too long (my husband, 5 yo, and infant in her stroller were waiting for me to get our coffee order) and then I witnessed the same staff member engaging in an altercation with a woman who was merely hanging out at a nearby table with her family.

Friend took me here during my trip and I had this inherit fear that it was gonna be as disgusting as LA Union Station and reek of piss, but I'm glad it didn't. It is actually a transit center for Amtrak from what I've seen, but it's very clean and looks high end and fancy inside. Definitely a feast for the eyes on the outside with its historical look and the small synchronized water fountain outside too. There's an upstairs level and a couple business kiosks selling things like flowers, chocolates, fancy pastries, etc. There's restaurants, quick service food restaurants, a shoe shiner, and other gift stores. If you're in Downtown Denver, it's definitely worth a visit, especially since there's a free bus you can take up and down the way to and from Union Station!

Union Station is in the heart of downtown Denver, the renovated 1914 Beaux-Arts train station is home to chef-owned restaurants & bars, boutiques and the Crawford Hotel. The station fully reopened in July after a month's long renovation, unveiling new furniture & murals, as well as the updated Cooper Lounge, a second-floor cocktail bar with city views on one side and the station's Great Hall on the other, making it an ideal people-watching perch. There are many charming shops & restaurants in this historic station. Ultreia is a modern-classic restaurant with a high-ceilinged room that resembles an art gallery, with wallpaper in the style of a landscape painting that depicts cows and Denver.

This is a nice respite after a long train ride from the airport. The architecture is inspiring, the seating is comfy, and the resident restaurants are on point. It's also prime people watching. I really enjoyed the time spent there. Recommended

We were told we had to stop by Denver Union Station on our visit to Denver as it had nice architecture and lively meeting places. So naturally, we came at night when most of the businesses were closed. But walking around, there were some nice restaurants, shops, and a bar. If I was traveling by train, this would be a wonderful greeting upon arrival. Great central location in Denver. Plenty of restaurants, bars, and hotels nearby. Looked surprisingly impressive at night when we walked up. Guess this is what they meant by admiring the architecture? Looked a lot grander than one would expect from a train station.

A surprisingly nice train station that also seems to serve as a hotel and mall. The architecture is old school yet with a modern twist, really highlighting the historic importance of the landmark while still catering to the needs of modern travelers that might be facing a flight delay or be waiting for their ride. The train to the airport is $10, runs on 15 minute cycles during the day, and takes just about 40-45 minutes. It's the first track exiting the station (I didn't see any signs and had to ask someone). I bought my ticket at the kiosk next to the track. While I was on the train, I took a nap and no one checked my ticket, so I'm not sure if there's usually a conductor that does that.

I was visiting Denver and used public transportation the whole time we were here. I took the train from the airport to Union station. The RTD app was easy to navigate. You can find it with a qr code at the airport or use the terminals to buy a ticket. It's $10 for a ticket. The train was clean, and the ticket checker was kind (even when people hadn't purchased their tickets before boarding). Union station is gorgeous with lots of shops, dining, and coffee. Right outside is a stop for the free mall bus that goes around downtown.

Awe I loved it here, there was so much to look at and so many little places to try for food and beverages. I would come here so many more times. I was visiting and just here for a short time. Definitely recommend it!

Location was nice. Beautiful decor and ambiance. Many restaurants in the area. This location is best for a quick bite or a leisure drink. It is a cute spot to explore with a book store, coffee shops, quick sandwiches, and beer options.

Aloha to da MILE HIGH CITY! This efficient light rail makes Metro magic happen for the heart of Denver and the outlying suburbs. It also makes going to the world class DIA a breeze on the A-Line! A HUGE Shout out for the Colorado taxpayers & federal dollars that made this commuter rail possible! As a disabled Veteran, I also appreciate the complimentary ride! Security on and off the train is not only visible, but also friendly and professional. Access for those with disabilities is easy and the modified bike racks are very convenient to the active lifestyle of those locals utilizing Pedal Power or Electric bikes as part of their commute. The ride is smooth & scenic, passing the hustle & bustle of the surrounding overloaded freeways during rush hour. I find a train ride very relaxing and the Union Station has a nice variety of coffee shops & is in walking distance of many local shops, restaurants and Whole Foods Market. Definitely the best way to get around town without the hassle of traffic. There's always an occasional issue that pops up due to unforeseen issues but the RTD has a tested contingency plan that keeps the line a rolling. Continuous AI verbal updates on stops and direction of travel are broadcast at each stop. Automated kiosks make buying tickets easy a click of your iPhone. Those traveling in and out of Colorado by air can ease the burden of long pickup & drop off lines that occur during peak airline arrivals. The huge escalator at the Hilton Hotel entrance leading to the train tracks below helps with your airport arrival and departure to Union Station. Great efficient commute on RTD!

When Denver airport constructed their own train station, we started taking the train to Denver Union Station in the downtown area rather than renting a car or taking a rideshare. The train is one of the most convenient and cheapest transportation options for us anytime we visit Denver. This train starts at the airport and ends at the Union Station, with numerous stops in between. Anywhere beyond that you will have to switch trains. The Denver Union Station has lots of good stuff inside and outside surrounding it, including a bar and a bookstore. What's very convenient for us here is that it's only steps away from one of the 16th Street Mall bus stops, where we can easily hop on and head straight to our hotel. Our last visit, we ended up taking the train to the Union Station from the airport, but took a rideshare to the airport when our vacation was over, just to save time due to ongoing 16th Street Mall construction. If I end up traveling to downtown Denver again, by myself or with someone else, Denver Union Station will definitely be my destination to start my trip here.

An elegant yet historical train station in downtown Denver, so far the prettiest train station I had ever visited. There are restaurants, hotel and a bookstore in this beautiful building. It is clean and safe, unlike the other train stations in US. The surrounding is pretty chill and we like the vibe here. There are many good rating restaurants around this area.

Loved the vibe and atmosphere inside Union Station. It's a hub for various types of buses, and trains. The station was always busy especially in the morning with early commuters and early afternoon with long haul travelers taking buses to other cities within Colorado and other states too.

A beautiful station that you can get to by using the A Train from the Denver Airport. Get out of the car and use the train! Elegant station that takes you back in time. Restaurants, coffee shops the atrium, these are all good reasons to check out Union Station! The views from the train are not the same from the car as you are elevated above the highways.

Nice train, clean. Great location. Plenty to do. Shops, bars, restaurants. Lots of signs, organized layout. Plenty of staff to help with questions. Reasonably priced. About 45 min commute to the airport. I believe there is a bus station on the bottom level.

As I've now had the opportunity to not only utilize Denver Union Station for commutes to/from the airport, but to have enjoyed my time at the station with a few drinks amongst friends and loved ones. From the holiday decor in the wintertime to the outdoor patios for the restaurants out front during the summer, there is just no bad view. I really enjoy my time up on the second floor bar which allows you to overlook the main floor.

If you are visiting Denver, you have to stop by this historic building. On my first ever trip here, I was visiting a friend of my mine that had moved here and she recommended meeting here. We had breakfast at one of the restaurants inside Union Station and then we took time to explore this place afterwards. Denver Union Station was built in 1881, but was renovated in 2012 to be a transit-oriented mixed-use development. Denver Union Station partners with Amtrak and RTD to offer travel options for travelers coming in and out of Denver. I had a long layover in Denver recently and took the RTD to Union Station from the airport to grab lunch and explore the city. Union Station has around ten restaurants, bars and boutiques. You can also stay at the 112-room Crawford Hotel on the upper level. They even host events for Derby Day, St. Patrick's Day and Opening Day for the Rockies. Denver Union Station is a great place to gather and meet while still honoring its past. I personally enjoy people watching while hanging out in the Great Hall area. Take a few minutes and stand in front of this building and marvel at its impressive architecture and the 80-foot clock tower at the center.

On the last day of my trip to Colorado, I planned to return my rental car in downtown Denver and then take the train back to the airport from Union Station. With a couple of hours to spare, I decided to hang out in the station. I quickly regretted not planning more time here--there's so much to see, do, and eat! It was the perfect place to unwind and enjoy the charm of this historic landmark, especially with a delicious cup of coffee in hand. One nice surprise was that the bus ride from the rental car drop-off to the train station was completely free. Next time I visit, I'd love to stay at the hotel right in the station--it seemed like such a great spot. The train ride to the airport was very affordable, and I really enjoyed taking in the city's scenery on my way back. If you haven't been to Union Station, I highly recommend checking it out!

The train station is really awesome. They have restaurants and bars and you can even stay at the hotel at the station and if you're flying into Denver international airport and you need to get to Downtown this is the way to go. Our train tickets are only $10. It's about a 40 minute ride from the airport to downtown union station once you get off at Union Station. There's all kinds of bars and restaurants and hotels to stay at this is definitely A+

Decades ago, the great modern builders of Denver envisioned a renewed Union Station befitting of a world-class city with a great and expanded transit system. It has been achieved! Yes, there can be challenges with the vagabonds whose paths course through this facility, but a strident effort is being made to return the station to its remodeled, revitalized self. This inter-modal center serves as the core in a hub and spoke system of trains and other modes of transportation. One can depart on the luxury Rocky Mountaineer or leave via a standard service Amtrak train. The facility also acts as a gateway to light rail lines that service the city, a commuter rail line to Denver International Airport as well as city and statewide bus systems. A hotel for those needing accommodation is present within, as well as restaurants and a bookstore. I remember being in this building as a child and over the years. It was beautiful, but quiet and not exactly vibrant by today's expectations. The first train stopped here in the 1860s and the history and contribution of this place to the greater wild (now tamed) west is astounding. It's current state is enjoyable and so long as the less savory elements are addressed, this centerpiece of Denver will continue to impress and serve as a great first impression for so many entering this fine city.

Nice facility; very busy. Was in Denver to enjoy the sights. We booked a tour of the mountains and had to meet the tour bus at Union Station; various establishments conveniently located in the station.

The beautiful building is a landmark in the city of Denver and it is nicely lit at night for all to admire. With its urban locale, Union Station might seem like an unlikely spot to find fresh, local produce, but you can do just that every Saturday from mid-May to mid-October. Between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m., farmers and food producers set up shop on Denver Union Station Plaza for the Union Station Farmers Market, offering fresh local fare, from fruits and veggies to cheese and fresh-baked bread. Union Station is also the site of Denver's latest urban beekeeping program, with four hives located on the roof of the building. The station and its restaurants partnered on the project, so honey and honeycombs produced on-site are often featured in special pastries, drinks and other treats. I'm rating this as a tourist attraction. Not sure if it's fair to compare, but if you've been to other historical stations in bigger cities, especially Grand Central Station in NYC, this falls short. There are a few shops and restaurants/cafes and a hotel, but nothing impressive. I can usually find photo ops everywhere, but we spent less than 10 mins here and left with only a couple of pictures. If you have time to spend, worth a visit, but nothing to go out of your way to see.

Similar to DCs Union Station but a tad smaller. They are renovating so we can't really enjoy it's true beauty. The RTD begins here and ends here too, if you need to get to the airport. The Crawford hotel is here too, which another gem in Denver. There are small shops too like ACME if you want subs n stuff or go to the Snooze if you want coffee or tea etc.. it's very well maintained, and they do their best it keep the vagrants out.

This place is spotless and super organized! The train tracks and schedule are clearly marked, and it's right next to the baseball field. That's a great spot for visitors who want to do something fun while they're here.

In town for some baseball and decided to stay at the Crawford. Unfortunately it is undergoing renovations so you can't really get the feel for the interior. Missing are the bench style seating that brought the feel of the old train station. Amtrak still runs through here as well as light rail to the airport - convenient for us. There are places to dine, snack or drink in a clean & relatively quiet environment. Staying at the hotel here you can get pretty much everything you may need without have to leave the bldg. It'll be interesting to see how the remodel comes out. Hoping their done before our next trip

was in town for a conference and decided to walk around downtown. stopped by union station midweek. it was not too busy or crowded but still felt lively. some decent restaurants and spots to eat right inside the station. plenty of comfortable seating in the center for relaxing, catching up with friends, or getting a little work done. all in all, a nice place to spend some time.

This was my first introduction to Denver. This is a massive train station that connects you to the rest of the city. The train from the airport reached Union Station in under an hour. It only costs $10.50 which is much cheaper than taking an Uber. This place reminds me of Grand Central in New York City but smaller. You can immediately see the gorgeous historic architecture. This building has been around for years. It is mostly packed with people who are either waiting for the train or leaving on one of the trains. There is a large seating area for people to wait or do work in the meantime. There are several restaurants spread out through Union Station. The local stores are nice but very expensive as you would expect from a major transit hub. I went to get a coffee at Pigtrain Coffee Co, and everything was pricey. My favorite spot is Snooze Cafe which was tucked lightly in the corner of the building. There are locations all over Denver but this is one of the more popular ones. Before leaving Denver I managed to stop by and pick up a meal before catching my train out of the city.

I was pleasantly surprised to find that Denver Union Station offers a pretty comfortable experience. The building's exterior and interior designs were both elegant. Taking the light rail was a simple process by following the self-explanatory signs. The public toilet was clean in the few times I tried it and I felt safe walking around on my own. Even if you are not commuting, I recommend checking this place out in the city centre!

Why do I love Union Station? Great food options, unique shopping, the terminal bar, little bookstore and the overall esthetic. They keep Denver Union Station clean with visible security. I'm excited to try something completely new for my next trip to Union Station. A train ride in from another state and overnighting @The Crawford Hotel located inside Denver's Union Station.

Met up here before my tour, they had lots of shops and places to get quick tasty bites. The ice coffee and deserts were all good . There is something nostalgic about eating in an old train station! Definitely worth a trip for a quick bite or fresh coffee. They gave bathrooms as well

It's good as far as the busses go. And keeping it underground saves a lot of extra foot traffic at ground level. I get that. But there is nowhere near enough places to sit. Everyone sitting on these dirty ass floors waiting for their busses. There's plenty of open space everywhere. Why not add some more places to sit?

Signage could be clearer for those arriving to the station via bus underground. I got turned around and missed the next departing train so had to wait a half hour for the next one. Granted this was my first time navigating by myself. Was easy to find where I needed to go after the fact. Clean train. Easy to hear conductor on the speaker system. Smooth ride! Minimal passengers=quiet ride.

I've been here twice that I can recall. Once with part of my family and the second time I was alone. Great thing about this Denver Union Station, I felt totally safe walking around the inside and outside! It's hard to believe this historic train station has been here since 1881! Well, not this exact one! In 1894, it sustained a fire. It was rebuilt by 1914. It got a massive renovation in 2012 and reopened in 2014 in all its present glory. They included a hotel above the bustling ground floor! There are many new cool shops, including Milkbox Ice Creamery, Pigtrain Coffee Co., Snooze an AM Eatery, Mercantile dining & provision, and more! Out near the tracks, everything is well marked. The walkways were clean. You can take the elevator or stairs to get to each platform. The front of Union Station is off of Wynkoop. To the side of the front, there's a splash pad where families seemed prepared to hang out all day while their kiddos played. It was alluring as the day was pretty warm out, but I refrained! I don't remember seeing this station, but in 1980, my family took the Amtrak from San Francisco to Denver. I would think we would have exited at Union Station! If so, I had been here then, too! And it would've looked much different, more like it did after the fire, but more worn. There are various seating arrangements in the station. It's a great place to have a rest, meet up & catch up with friends/family, people watch, or to do some work. Maybe I'll catch some sort of transit to or from here again one day! You can take the train from here to the Denver Airport! Might be a good option since the airport is so remote!

This is a great place to stop if you are in Denver. They made great use of what could be wasted space outside the Amtrak with bars and little places to eat. And the benches and seating areas throughout were fantastic. Great place to enjoy some drinks or food and take in the ambiance. We were here later at night so most of the outside vendors were gone for the day

Loved the interior renovations that allow restaurants and stores to open inside. Easy to cross over and under the station with a pedestrian bridge and escalators to the basement bus area. If you use the RDT app, you can buy tickets for subway in advance, which is nice. $10.50 gets you a one-way ticket to the airport in 35 minutes. Much less expensive than share-rides.

First, we were taken to the train by Amtrak personnel by cart. The train is near the building making it more accessible to the train. The atmosphere of this station is very pleasant!

I love this place so historic and clean . The Hotel is amazing love that they kept some of the buildings original structure.
