Where to Eat in Vienna, Austria
Mochi Ramen Bar

There was a queue right after the open the shop, so I can imagine it is quite popular in the neighbourhood. We were given the option to skip the queue by seating outside. Their ramen was okay. They were very creamy and the noodles have a good texture. We were expecting stronger flavor though.

Now that is really rich and creamy tonkotsu ramen. The broth is very strong and heavy in a good way. The bowl filled me up completely. Noodles and soft chashu were delicious also. The addition of dried tuna flakes was unexpected but surprisingly worked well. Yuzu ramen was also super. We had to eat on the terrace since to wait for an interior table for 5 people on Saturday 13:00 would take more than 30 minutes.

Great ramen spot! The place is warm and welcoming, with big, delicious portions. There’s usually a line, so plan your visit accordingly but it’s totally worth it! We really enjoyed the flavors. Thank you for a great meal!

Tucked away in a quiet neighborhood, this place is bumping! The noodles are incredibly authentic and the broth is SO good. Also, the ingredients are very high quality. Try the homemade Mochi ;)

As a Korean living abroad, I can attest Mochi ramen bar is my favorite ramen place in Vienna and undoubtedly Europe. Try the “special ramen” every month, where Mochi consistently provides authentic, high quality food with an innovative spin-off. Otherwise the Tonkotsu ramen and vegetarian friendly options are classic choices. Most importantly the service and the whole team has always welcomed me with a smile, which brings me back here for years. There is a que but it is well-worth your time and relatively moves fast. You can also wait in line with the pale ale, Brauton back from space, highly recommendable. Key is to come during lunch time to avoid hustle bustle. Thank you for being an amazing place I can cherish and look forward to all the time. Keep innovating! 🙏

Noodle is good. However, the Tonkotsu ramen broth is too salty. I keep drinking water for hours after meal. The major issue is the broth is also extremely greasy. Its more like ramen in molten butter. 背脂系 ramen is even less greasy. Chasu is a bit dried. It’s basically unenjoyable. Besides, a bottle of water priced for €7.50. This is just a ramen place…

Yelp
The food was pretty good I got the tonkotsu ramen shio, the broth was full of flavor and savory. The chashu pork was a bit thick however but that did not flavor from soaking in but could have been better a bit thinner. The noodles I think could have done with a bit more cook time to make them a bit softer but aside from that Mochi Ramen Bar was perfect. The ramen is only beaten by a few Ramen shops in Japan! The service was a bit inattentive however that is understandable due to the restaurant being packed. However the serving staff did their best. When choosing seating sitting outside allows you to get seated faster however the trade off is that you sort of lack the atmosphere. Inside however you probably would have to wait at least 30-45 minutes to get a table. Walking through the place it was packed with people and the atmosphere seems fine. Overall Mochi Ramen Bar is a great place to have ramen. Overall 4.5/5 stars

Yelp
(Overall: A) - I was greatly impressed by the quality of Japanese offerings at Mochi. I believe they or their sister restaurant is on the Michelin guide, which is well deserved. The staff were friendly, attentive, and proactive. Highly recommend to others, especially those attending in the nearby Messe Wien Convention Center. (Ikapiri: A) - I like this take on a calamari appetizer using squid rings and topped with a beautifully sweet and spicy sauce for color and flavor; the microgreens also add some freshness. A squeeze of citrus could elevate this to A+ but otherwise well done. (Tonkotsu Ramen: A) - I was impressed by the plating of this as the abundance of scallion and bonito flakes help give the dish some height. The broth is beautifully developed and that dark black garlic reduction helps add some intensity to the broth. I was also a fan of the pickled radish in the dish to add sweetness, but perhaps that better served on the side rather than in the broth. (Yuzu Sake: A) - A well priced sake beautifully on the rocks. I love the citrus forward notes with minimal alcohol in the background profile. -- Food: +1 Presentation: +1 Price: E Atmosphere: E Service: +1 Menu: +2 Overall: +5 A Insta/Beli: @amei_eats

Yelp
If you love ramen, go here! Inside a small neighborhood outdoor market, they have indoor and outdoor seating. The menu is diverse and includes daily specials. I ordered the spicy chicken ramen and it was delicious! The watermelon mojito was just as good and refreshing. Service is excellent!

Yelp
This place accepts card. It was right next to my Airbnb and I'm so glad we came here!! The ramen comes with everything you'd want and it's a pretty big portion. Comes with corn, onions. Seaweed, egg, and bonito flakes. This really hit the spot and felt like home (LA). I also really liked their napkins theyre so cute! Give this place a try?

Yelp
Probably the best ramen place in Austria thus far. The kaarage is great with spicy Mayo, which is worth an order. Skip the squid and gyoza. They are not worth the price. The Tonkotsu is probably the most tasty and best ramen here but way too heavy. You'll feel incredible nasty after finishing it and it gets boring after a couple of spoons. The mushroom veggie one is nice but the other ones are better in my opinion. My wife liked the spicy which is a good choice for not too heavy ramen. Overall great spot to visit! No reservation. Make sure you come early

Yelp
Cute little store front with indoor and outdoor seating. Friendly staff that speaks English. Ramen was unfortunately mediocre. Yummy yuzu spritz and a strawberry cream dessert almost balanced it out. Walkable from the Messe Wien Congress Center.

Yelp
Mama mia, the Spicy chicken Ramen was mind blowing and the ginger lemonade was to die for . Highly recommend and I give it a solid 10/5 .

Yelp
Best ramen I've had around Europe. It's located in a small market, and didn't seem very touristy. Very friendly staff, they speak English and also have an English menu. I got the mushroom miso ramen with chashu and it was above my expectations! Prices were very acceptable, too.

Yelp
I cannot even begin to describe what an AMAZING lunch I just had here. Ramen is one of my favourite types of food, I've eaten it in A LOT of countries around the world, including Japan and this was THE best I've ever had. Everything was perfect! Perfect Ramen egg (which is a big factor when I go to a ramen place) perfect bite to the noodles, perfect filling, perfect portion size, delicious clear Tonkotsu Broth, perfect ambience and waiters who were perfectly attentive in English and German! And the salmon sashimi appetiser...I want to eat that every day for the rest of my life! I even met my spice match, nothing is ever spicy enough for me, I always beg for more spice. And the paste the waiter brought over to me was made by the devil himself. I laughed and rolled my eyes when he told me to be careful as it was spicy, I used two teaspoons and my eyeballs and teeth were sweating!! BE CAREFUL! Thank you Mochi for an amazing Ramen experience I will dream about forever, j can't wait to come back to Vienna JUST to eat your delicious ramen! Arigato!!

Yelp
Amazing ramen, in the middle of Austria no less... Miso mushroom ramen was rich with flavor and the perfect blend of accessories. This place is a winner!

Yelp
What a great ramen find in Vienna! Delicious broth, delicious toppings. Cheerful servers and chefs, and right next to a park, very quiet and peaceful neighborhood in the evening. Close to the U1 Volksgarten station. It's located in the beginning of the smaller Volkgarten Market, which I have not been to during the day, but I imagine gets rather busy at lunch. (I came here in the evening.) My only requests would to be more flavor to the boiled egg, and the noodles had a slightly different taste than what I'm used to. I make it a point to eat ramen everywhere I travel, and this was a delightful treat!

Yelp
Finally a decent ramen bar in Vienna.. Of course it's not perfect..but it's certainly much better than most Ramen restaurants in town..

Yelp
great ramen and the stuff is nice, everyone seems competent and to be enjoying their job! we went on a saturday evening and the waiting line was 45min and really crowded.. the place is super small, i wouldn't recommend going there with a bigger group on a weekend. unfortunately their opening hours are more for people working around there otherwise it's quite hard to go there when it's actually opeen. might be the best ramen in vienna? we also had a cheese cake which was amazing!!!

Philipp E.

Yelp
Best Ramen I had in Vienna I recommend the tonkotsu ramen with extra tamago(and chashu)

Yelp
late lunch: a share of Gyoza and Tori Kaarage as starter and then Wan Tan ramen as main course. nice staff (speaking DE/EN) and although it was crowded, no long waits! unless you want to try everything and/or are very hungry enjoy the starters (tappas). otherwise a bowl of ramen is really satisfying and delicious. expect about € 58 for 2 pax with soft drinks.
