You can’t go wrong with ice cream by the water. First visit to Ugly Ice Cream. It’s a cute stand right on Saratoga Lake. Plenty of parking and seating. There’s benches in front and on the deck in the back. There’s also a grass area on the side with benches or room to bring your own chairs. If you’re a soft serve fan, there was a long list of soft serve flavors. Only a handful of Perry’s hard ice cream. My husband and I shared the “Let’s get Ugly” sundae which was a good size to share. TLDR: A new shop built, owned, run and designed by amazing people who love their work the way a place designed for fun and memories should. Could not recommend Ugly Ice Cream more highly, and props to the whole team! As someone who’s not much of an ice cream guy myself, I often struggle at ice cream shops knowing what to order. Out of habit, I decided to order the chicken tenders, and they came out SUPER quickly. My friend told me she doesn’t like tenders much, but usually they’re a safe bet for me. When I took them out, I thought they looked a little odd, and worried the new place hadn’t gotten their recipes down yet. Then I took my first bite. As my eyes widened, I realized that they didn’t look strange, but literally all the chicken tenders I’ve ever had in my life were the strange ones. I’m being 100% honest when I say these are the best chicken tenders I’ve had in my life. I ran over to my friend and forced her to take just one bite. I left to chat with some friends for a few minutes and by the time I had come back, my entire plate was gone! Overall, between mind blowing food, lemonade that tastes like it comes in a thin tall glass at Ruth’s Chris but instead comes in a container so big I had to hold it like I held my milk glass as a child (which is a whole other tangent I could go on as a self proclaimed lemonade connoisseur), extremely friendly and professional staff, and vibes that are off the charts, I can’t wait to see what these guys do next. Highest congratulations to the team, and thanks for bringing many many more smiles to Saratoga.

The employees are very friendly and the view is stunning but I wasn't very impressed by the serving size. I got a medium ice cream (pictured but it's not a good angle - it was maybe 5" tall) and the prices are a little steep given the portion sizes. It was very cute and I really appreciated how nice the employees were but overall I think this was just an okay experience for me.

Tried Ugly Ice Cream for the first time last evening. Employees were very friendly. Soft serve ice cream was super soft & not a lot of flavor. A little disappointing that you have to order a medium for any flavor other than vanilla or chocolate. Looking like a money grab there. There are many other ice cream shops in the area that I think top this for the money. One & done for me.

The soft serve and chairs are really good. Service was slow, like way slower than you'd think for a couple of cones and a shake, but they were very nice. It would also be awesome to have some tables with umbrellas to sit at rather than benches out in the sun.

What a cool place!! Got in for a pre-opening taste test at sunset (on the lake), had all the ice cream I could eat; it was delicious! Toppings galore! Lemonade has fresh squeezed lemons, and real sugar, the ol’ fashion way. Pizza was great, Oboy’s from Esperanto’s, are always amazing; humongous foot long hot dogs with the works and tater tots all the way! What a great addition to Saratoga lake! Can’t wait to go on my boat with the family and grab a snack or ice cream. Super good prices too, actually shocked it was a fair price. Couldn’t be happier, I’m hooked!

The Food and Service was beyond Awesome!! The atmosphere is Amazing too! I love our small businesses. The amount of food for the price you pay is definitely worth it!

If you're in the Saratoga area, and you don't feel like driving up to Martha's, you now have a much closer option. Located on Brown's Beach, it's definitely a great spot for ice cream, especially if you're there on a hot day. As you might expect from the name, they are indeed owned by the same folks who own the Ugly Rooster Cafe's. Their menu offers over 25 flavors of soft-serve. If you prefer hard ice cream, 8 flavors of Perry's are also available. Given how small their site currently is, they can't possibly have dispensers for every flavor. So what I believe they do is make smaller batches of a flavor to order and then dispense it into your cone or cup. For the flavor I ordered, Amaretto, you'd never know that might have been how it was made, the flavor and consistency were quite good, and I'd definitely order it again. And for the inevitable comparisons: Flavors - more of them, probably not changing as frequently, see above on how they can have so many available. Flavor was distinct without being overwhelming. Size - You definitely don't get as much for your order. I'm hoping that as they grow as a business, they can be more cost competitive. Consistency - Maybe not quite as dense; on a very hot day, be prepared to lick fast. Still, this is a great add to the ice cream community. And since I'm more likely to be traveling in this area as opposed to going up to Lake George, this is an easy, "Yes, let's go!" for me.

Awesome spot for ice cream. Location is perfect especially during a beach day. The prices are typical for this location. Service was pretty quick. The girls that were working are really sweet.
