If you're in the Saratoga area, and you don't feel like driving up to Martha's, you now have a much closer option. Located on Brown's Beach, it's definitely a great spot for ice cream, especially if you're there on a hot day. As you might expect from the name, they are indeed owned by the same folks who own the Ugly Rooster Cafe's.
Their menu offers over 25 flavors of soft-serve. If you prefer hard ice cream, 8 flavors of Perry's are also available. Given how small their site currently is, they can't possibly have dispensers for every flavor. So what I believe they do is make smaller batches of a flavor to order and then dispense it into your cone or cup. For the flavor I ordered, Amaretto, you'd never know that might have been how it was made, the flavor and consistency were quite good, and I'd definitely order it again.
And for the inevitable comparisons:
Flavors - more of them, probably not changing as frequently, see above on how they can have so many available. Flavor was distinct without being overwhelming.
Size - You definitely don't get as much for your order. I'm hoping that as they grow as a business, they can be more cost competitive.
Consistency - Maybe not quite as dense; on a very hot day, be prepared to lick fast.
Still, this is a great add to the ice cream community. And since I'm more likely to be traveling in this area as opposed to going up to Lake George, this is an easy, "Yes, let's go!" for me.
