What a delight to visit Bar Carolina. Karen Martini is sending exquisite food to the table from our raw tuna entree to our roast Tuscan chicken everything was delectable and paired with beautiful wines. Do not overlook this restaurant, you will not be disappointed.

Had a wonderful dinner with my sister at Bar Carolina. Bravo Chef Karen Martini and the whole team this evening. Food was exquisite! The restaurant had a fresh & fabulous, feel-good vibe. Looking forward to returning soon. Grazie mille 🫶🏼

Organised dinner for 9 people, which is often tricky. However, all went very smoothly, Every single person was extremely happy with every single dish, some achievement for the kitchen.. The Steak dish was outstanding , really seriously good, as was the duck and the fish of the day. Starters were all delicious, interesting and perfect. Our waiter was the perfect mixture of friendliness, competence and good timing, and kept things moving at just the right pace. All in all, an outstanding night , which earns this writers highest compliment.

I love the fact that Karen Martini has reinvented Bar Carolina. It is fantastic!! It is soooo NYC! There is a tremendous vibe in the place now. People conversing, sounds from the open kitchen abound in a very positive way, waiters taking orders, runners serving food, It's go go go and I love it! Most importantly there is no loud music. The vibe is created by a mix of all of this. The food is spectacular, the wines divine, proper napery, pleasant staff. Michael and Karen keeping their sharp eyes on top of every detail. I love it!

Bar Carolina’s experienced new ownership and the installation of Melbourne heavyweights Karen Martini, Michael and team have brought a flawless repertoire to an old SY favourite. Enjoyed delicious food and discrete service. As a long time customer of KM since the good ol’ George Dining room days, Mr Wolf and Hero, so happy they’re now in SY … booked again ⭐️

One of Melbournes finest has found its cosy niche in South Yarra. Do not hesitate. Do not pause. Bar Corlina is impressive on all fronts if your looking for genuine seasoned hospitality in your dining experience. This is why Melbourne is known for its cultural experiences. What a relief their back.

The service was great and I enjoyed the pasta though I was unimpressed by the mounds of fat in the rib eye. It wasn’t at all rendered and half the 700 grams was inedible in my view. The BYO option is definitely a draw card

Bar Carolina is a contemporary Italian restaurant located on Toorak Road in South Yarra. Upstairs you will find their rooftop sibling venue @tettodicarolina. 🇮🇹 We visited for their “La Bella Vita” special, a $20 authentic Spaghetti Carbonara available before 2pm on weekends only. If I had that weekly, it would indeed be a beautiful life. 🥹 ⭐️ Spaghetti Carbonara - perfect flavour, creamy, crispy guanciale. 10/10 dish I’m obsessed. ✔️ Half Shell Scallops, Garlic Butter ✔️ Mushroom Truffle Arancini - strong in flavour, delicious. ⭐️ Tagliata Di Manzo - one of the best, juiciest, tastiest Porterhouse’s I’ve had. The sear was incredibly flavourful. ⭐️ Hand Cut Patate - crispy as ever ✔️ Insalata Carolina - fresh and well dressed ⭐️ Tiramisu - easily one of the best in Melbourne. It’s new. It has half cream half chocolate mousse. Good coffee hit, hints of salt. Not super traditional but it’s INCRED. One of my favourite meals of the year, everything was spot on, with a little bit of their own flair to keep it interesting. Such an aesthetic, funky spot. Granted it was Cup Weekend so it was quiet vibe during this lunch but that just meant we got the best most attentive service! invite | — This is one of the best carbonara I’ve ever had and trust me, I’ve had a lot! You can get it at Bar Carolina, cool, contemporary Italian restaurant on Toorak Road in South Yarra. We visited specifically for their “La Bella Vita” special, which is a plate of creamy spaghetti carbonara with crispy Guanciale for just $20, every weekend only before 2pm. I actually dream of this dish so I highly recommend going! While we were there would be rude not to try more of the menu. Everything was almost faultless, they had one of the best Porterhouse steaks I’ve ever had, so tender and juicy with the perfect sear. The potatoes were crispy and hand cut and for dessert I wasn’t sure how a tiramisu with half choc mousse would turn out but WOW. Another winner. And it had hints of salt too ugh so good. Don’t wait so long to visit like I did!
