Honestly it was okay. We came our first day in Iceland looking for lopapeysas and there were certainly many to see, but we decided not to buy. People from one the vendor booths gave us wildly different prices for their products (differences of 15.000 ISK!) and were very pushy. While trying the sweaters on, I noticed many had very different shapes and did not fit uniformly (visiting other shops and being a knitter myself I know that this is not common if following a pattern). I was very afraid as well trying them on as they felt as though anything would pull at the yarn and ruin them.
After traveling all the way to Hofn through the week and visiting other shops, I realized how much nicer quality knitwear these shops had than did those at the flea market. The shapes of the sweaters were all normal, and the knit itself was much tighter and less holey. AND we were able to purchase for much cheaper as well.
Overall, the flea market itself was okay, but I would not recommend for lopapeysas.
