How can this place have good reviews? This is the first time I order from here with Grubhub. The pizza got here all over the box. Both pizzas where burned, the crust was black, too much sauce and very little cheese. My kids didn’t finish it. I just wasted 60 dollars on pizza that’s going to the trash. First and last time I order here.

Ordered a pizza Margherita. Crust was on the thicker side. Uneven bake. Gooey slightly raw dough midway through the crust. Sauce had some bright acidity to it and subtle sweetness, decent. Cheese did not melt well due to being cut rather thick. Deceptively heavy, when expecting something light and crispy. If the crust was thinner/baked properly, and the cheese distribution was less heavy potentially this could be a 4-4.2/5 pizza.

I recommend these pizzas, they are the best, the flavor is toasted! I love the taste as well as homemade but very rich! I recommend it 100% and they are the typical sizes of New York

Just went in for first time and had a meatball slice. Tried to keep it at one slice because I had eaten within the last hour. Slice was so good had follow it up with a vodka slice and an artichoke slice which was so big it could make you choke. It was a trifecta of deliciousness. Jesse and raul behind the counter have a great personality and keep the customers engaged while never missing a beat running the counter and deliveries.

Anytime (& I mean ANYTIME!) I'm in Bay Ridge this place is a MUST! Their artichoke slice is to die for (with the Margherita slice a close 2nd) & all of their other slices are delicious too .. open late which makes it the best comfort food after a night out. 5 stars for sure!

We tried going a few weeks ago to the downtown/5th Ave location and it was closed during posted hrs of operation. I should've taken the sign, as the Universe was trying to tell me to take a pass, sadly I am just a stubborn hungry human who can't take a hint. ‍ I found out there was more than 1 Artichoke in Brooklyn, so off we went to this location in search of Artichoke glory and also this epic crab pizza. Slices were 6$ each but really huge in comparison to the avg NY slice. Place gave off a hipster vibe. It was empty in there, but late so I didn't think much about that. So onto the real thing that matters : the pizza. I do understand there are many diff styles of pizza, but since we are in New York going to call it like I see it: this is not a typical NY slice with crab/artichoke on it -if you are a native New Yorker it wont be what you think it is. (and yes, this sometimes makes a huge difference for native NYers like myself) Artichoke slice was so wet. I knew it was going to be Alfredo-y but I didn't think everything would slide off it as I ate it, it was way too saucey for my tastes. Too much stuff going on there for me. In contrast the crab pizza i received was also too dry for me, and the crust was burnt. Felt like it sat out for quite some time. The sauce was also strange... I wanted to love this, but It's a no for me.

Glad to see this place is still up to standards. Ordered an artichoke pie and while it was huge, the slices seemed smaller and thinner than it would if you order a slice individually. The slice was still as good as ever. Creamy, cheesy, tasty deliciousness. Two slices will fill most people up. Beware of over eating and having regrets. They have bar seating along the wall and windows and a couple of round tables for dine in. Service was prompt, nothing to complain or rave about.

A few high top tables (only around 4-5 chairs though) are available to enjoy your slice indoors. Most customers do delivery/take out. Hence, why the pizzas on display are very old and dry--no one buys just a slice. Most order a whole pie to go. Artichoke slice was meh, compared to slices at other Artichoke franchise locations. Probably been sitting on the counter for too long. STaten Island slice was ancient and so dried up that it was like a crostini, hence impossible to enjoy. Staff look tired and overworked. They're accommodating, though. No restrooms for customers. If you need to go, you're out of luck. There's a gas station across the street--use their dirty bathroom.

Tina's take: 11/10 It's my first time visiting this location and it was great! I been to the other locations in the past and it lives up to the name. I got the famous artichoke slice and it did not disappoint. The store was super clean and the workers were very informational. I see that previous reviews were saying their hours were irregular, but it looks like they are back to normal and they are here to stay. Can't wait to come back.

Ive been to Artichoke's in the city before and was always blown away by both the size and taste of their pizza. Artichokes is good. If large slices is your thing then this is where you eat pizza. Stopped by and had the Staten Island slice which is meatball, ricotta, and red onions in addition to mozz. The slice was fresh out the oven and tasted great. The flavors worked well and who knew that red onions taste so good on pizza?! The workers seem pretty cool here as they made conversation while waiting for my food which is cool. Try them out! I know I will come back and get their artichoke slice..

I know what you're thinking. $6.00 for an Artichoke Slice and $4.75 for a Margherita Slice? These people must be crazy, right? Well, no. More like genius. The last time I had the infamous Artichoke Slice was in the original EV. Artichoke was the quintessential night out food. No, not the food you venture out to eat on a low-key Friday night. The food you crave after hitting up the bars in EV, when you know you shouldn't be eating it but you REALLY, REALLY want it. You can't get in a cab home without it. The food you can eat when your metabolism is fast, and you are young, wild, free, and full of life. This is the stage in your life when you don't get heartburn. You don't even know what heartburn is. Pepcid? Unfamiliar with it. Those days are far in the past for me, but with Artichoke in Bay Ridge, I can order from the comfort of my own home at a reasonable hour, all while wearing pajamas and doing a face mask (preferably before 9pm, please). At least I'll have an antacid at arms reach. Okay, back to the pizza... the slices are HUGE and loaded with the artichoke/cheese sauce concoction. If you've ever had a regular slice of pizza, times is by 2 then think of a generous cream sauce on top. That's what you're paying $6 for. One slice is more than enough to fill a person up. If you can go for 2 in one sitting, you are my hero. Portion aside, the Artichoke Slice is still as delicious as it was back in the good 'ol days. The Margherita Slices are equally as huge. At $4.75 each, I ordered 2, but it was really like getting 4 slices. I actually cut these down the middle. That's how big they are. Happy to have a location here in Bay Ridge.

I HATE WHEN BUSINESSES CHEAT THEIR CUSTOMERS, a total turn off!! So I've had artichoke's pizzas before at different locations but when I walked into the Bayridge one, I was really disappointed, it wasn't as clean as I'd hope. Even stools were dusty. No wonder every time I walk by this place I see it EMPTY. I don't frequent Artichoke pizza because it's overpriced but I wanted to try this location. I noticed the size is the size of a normal pizza now, they used to be known for their LARGE pizza slices and the "famous artichoke pizza pie" which I ordered, a large was NOT large. Also what pissed me off especially for $36 is (as you can see in the pic) There was literally ONE artichoke heart that was clearly taken out of a can or jar and the guy just peeled each artichoke leaf off and spread it around the pie. HOW FRIGGEN CHEAP ARE YOU?! It was salty, and a big cream bomb, since there were BARELY ANY ARTICHOKES OR SPINACH!! I rather get pizza at the traditional pizzerias who by the way do have white pizzas where they add a bunch of artichokes and spinach for CHEAPER and they taste really good! Definitely not returning.

I've been wanting to try my neighborhood Artichoke Basille's Pizza and just a week or so ago I made good on it. I was heading home and didn't want to cook anything and noticed their sign that pointed out a $10 large pie to take out. Yes, they are known for their artichoke pizza pie but I have noticed that it is a tad pricey to get a full pie of. I am one of those who orders a pizza and freezes the slices I don't finish (usually I devour three from my places depending on their size). As opposed to calling ahead I walked in and asked if they had a pie ready to go and they did as someone had ordered and then cancelled just around the time that the pizza was coming out of the oven. Talk about good luck. Of course if would not have been an issue as I am only a two block walk from the place anyway and it doesn't take me more than five minutes to do it. I got the pizza home and can say that it smelled super and will say that its smaller than a large pie from a regular pizzeria. The crust seemed thinner to me and I don't mind that every now and again and the sauce was very very tasty. I think that I might have wanted to find just a little more cheese but at the end of the day this was still super tasty. As it was a little smaller, I had four slices of the pie and vowed to do some long walking the following day. The rest went into the freezer to have several days later and it reheated find in the toaster oven and was just as good. Depending on my hunger pangs, I will for sure be checking them out again in the not too distant future.

From my earliest memories or lack thereof of Artichoke Pizza, it always served one important purpose at its original location in the East Village ... and that was to cure even the hungriest of munchies after an evening of bar hopping. That massive, super cheesy hunk of a pizza slice always hit the spot and it was no different at this location. Unlike the original or most of the locations of Artichoke's, this one is located in a less busy and, might I point out, less rowdy, section of NYC, although it's still just a few blocks away from the 86th Street shopping district, which sees a lot of traffic. The location was quite small and it didn't seem like they really got a lot of customers. Once in awhile, customers came in as we ate, but at no point did were there more than 2-3 people inside at once, including us. My wife and I were running some Saturday errands when we stumbled upon Artichoke Pizza's Bay Ridge location. It just happened to be lunch time, so we decided, heck, why not? And what was even better? They have a ridiculously reasonable $9 lunch special, which comes with ANY 2 slices and a drink. In 2020, you just can't beat that for good pizza ... if it's good. It had been a very, very long time since we both ate at Artichoke Pizza, so we scanned through the potential options and, to be honest, I never had a clue as to what they were until that day. Surprisingly, they had quite the variety, and every single one really did look delicious - the famed Artichoke, Crab, Margherita, Pepperoni, Staten Island (meat lovers) Sicilian and Vodka Sicilian. The Artichoke slice alone was a hefty $6, while the others were either $4.75 or $5, BUT you definitely get your money's worth with the size of their slices easily longer than average human head. For every slice, it's about 1.5 slices, so when I say bring your appetite, really make sure you're hungry before stepping in. It's no joke .... I ended up with an Artichoke and Crab, while my wife had an Artichoke and Margherita. When the pizza slices came out, they weren't really piping hot, so that was disappointing, but damn they were still so good! We both had been to A LOT of pizzerias over the last few years, including some of the best in the country - DiFaras, Roberta's, Paulie Gee's, Frank Pepe's in Connecticut and - and I couldn't believe I was thinking this, but the Crab and Margheritas were some of the best slices I had ever had in my life. Thin crust, plenty of cheese and toppings scattered and it was extremely delicious. I was in shock that they were so good. Part of it might have been my hunger, but nevertheless, they were really, really good. Unfortunately, we couldn't say the same about the Artichoke slice. It was disappointing and not how we remembered it from years past. The breading was very thick, probably to hold up all of the weight of the cheese and artichoke, and it was just too creamy and heavy. It almost was like the creaminess of the pizza wasn't fully done and needed to be placed in the oven a bit longer. So tip of the day? Skip the signature Artichoke slice and go with any of the other ones. The Sicilian and Vodka Sicilians are your classic square slice, but everything else is your larger than average NY slice. Although we picked the Crab and Margherita and those were absolutely delicious, the other regular slices looked just as good and we will definitely be back for them.

You will question your sanity when you reach into your wallet/purse to pay $7 for a single artichoke slice, as I did my first time. However, that $7 purchase changed my life forever. I simply can't describe how the perfect amount of oil clashed with sharp tangy cheese combined with the ultimate ingredient: artichoke. The sizes are incredibly portioned, so it's not like you aren't getting your moneys worth. I'd say the pizza is as large as 2 regular slices, so it's honestly not even that expensive. I really can't describe it more than just utter perfection. I never had something so delicious like this before. I was READY to be disappointed. I was ANTICIPATING the eventual regret. But no, this slice of pizza really is a work of art. I been having Artichoke for over 10 years. The Artichoke slice is amazing and my friends and family that like seafood love the crab slice. It's exactly what you want in a NY Style Pizza. Big slices, delicious sauce, nice toppings and kind service. I tried the three options that they had, pepperoni, artichoke and margherita. The last one was my favorite, however every slice was pretty good. I definitely recommend coming here.

I've been hooked on slices from "Artichoke's" for over a decade. I've always been to the Greenwich village or East Village locations. Even went to their now closed Astoria location. One year my mom decided she didn't want to go out for dinner on her birthday and she wanted us to order in from Artichoke's instead. We are nowhere near the delivery zones so we chose the closest Brooklyn location to get too and ordered a couple pies and a few box salads. That was my first time having their box salad and omg it is AMAZING. Arugula, red onions, black olives, grape tomatoes, etc with a delicious vinaigrette. Ended up in the neighborhood again awhile back and bought a few slices. The slices from Artichoke's pizza are huge. I almost always get a few and cut them in half so I can have a bit of each without getting too full. My favorite slices are their namesake slice, the Margherita slice, and their crab slice. Margherita slices are one of my favorite in general and theirs is *chef's kiss* one of the best. I came in shortly after opening time. The guy taking my order was extremely nice and friendly. His music selection was great and very nostalgic too. He had throwback 2000s-2010s hits from all genres so it felt like I was in a time warp but in a good way lol. I got to the car and my dad and I both took bites out of our slices before I remembered to take a pic. Common theme when I'm taking food pictures but hey it's a testament to how excited we were to dig into our slices!

The last time I had Artichoke pizza was 6 years ago at a Yelp Elites event at a sip and paint place. I was glad this was one of the stops on the pizza crawl. It tasted just like the first time I had it. I shared a slice with another gal in the group. She told me, the sauce was like clam chowder. I was very full after this pizzeria and we had 4 more locations to go to. I will definitely come here on an empty stomach. By the way, they have fancy soda brands here.

My 1st time trying artichoke pizza, it's definitely very different and interesting compared to any other pizza we tried. We ordered for it to be delivered, it was still warm when arrived. In my personal opinion, it is not the type of pizza I like, but i would like to eat it as a dip. I wouldn't mind eating it if it's available, but not something I'd crave for. I think the center of the pizza is too soggy and the crust is too hard and dry. I had to keep in mind to chew it very slowly because it kinda stabbed my inner cheek ? (Is there a proper term for this? Lol)

Was walking by and saw they were advertise a $10 pizza pie for pick up only. It's only between 5- 10pm . I had to wait 20 minutes for the pie , the crust could have been Cooked like 2-3 more minutes but the taste of the pizza was very good and not to sweet . And the sauce was good too. It's only for pick up only. It's enough for 2-3 people its a 16 inch pie. for the price it's beats eating the $1 slice pie which sales for $8 a pie.

We came here a while ago and decided to order a whole Artichoke pie and now in hindsight, we should have ordered a slice for each person. Now, we knew going into this, that the pizza would be greasy, very creamy, and probably very filling. That is not to say, the pizza was not good, it was def. on the heavy side. The slices are HUGE and loaded with the artichoke/cheese sauce concoction. The slice is def. generous and you will certainly, most likely fill you up with only 1 slice. The slice was really good, it was creamy, def. not skimpy on the sauce. However, the crust was a bit on the meatier/hefty side, it is def. not a thin slice. But, the sauce and filling needed a heftier base to hold all the and sauce and cream. I wished the crust was a little more crispy/thin. The sauce is really overpowering, and one-dimensional, as it was just creamy, a bit salty, and the thick crust. I would probably not order a whole pie and maybe if in the mood for some hefty pizza, I would go for a slice.

Usual pizza from Artichoke. The namesake slice is creamy and very filling. Place gets a fifth star because of the nice, friendly man working the counter when I went. Funny dude, hope he's there all the time.

For a $20-$30 pie, I was expecting a lot. I had a $10 off coupon on delivery.com; so gave it a whirl! The pepperoni is amazing. I loved the pizza-sauce ratio. I would have liked a tad more garlic, but it was delicious. The pie came Luke warm; but I have a microwave! The pizza slices are amazingly giant; and got that oillll so be sure to have a napkin near by!

The Artichoke Margarita slice has improved a lot I had one today and I found the slice to be fresher and not as drippy . The slice was more on the delicious side . B+ congratulations I may go back when I'm in the area .

It's Artichoke. It's polarizing. It's delicious. It'll make you feel like crap later. It's salty. It's greasy. It's delicious. Ordering from Uber Eats is a crapshoot though. If your delivery guy is on a bike instead of a car, definitely expect to have to reheat your stuff. They also have the Staten Island slice, which they don't have at some other locations (it's the meatball and ricotta one).

All I can say is.... The CRAB SLICE!!!!!!! This place is supreme. Also amazing is the Margherita and the Staten Island!!

We stopped in here late on a Friday following a concert on the ride home to Jersey. I have been to a couple of the other locations so I knew what to expect and this location did not disappoint. There were only a couple of other people in the restaurant when we walked in but as we sat to enjoy our slices, we watched the groups funnel in and out - there was definitely a steady turnover which proves to me that the pizza is always fresh. I knew I was taking a risk ordering the crab slice but oh man it hit the spot and was good. Extra points for how pleasant the staff was, they were really having fun behind the counter and cared about the customer experience. I was happy to see at least a 5 pizza flavor choices so late but then I realized they were open until 4am... I was in there early compared to the true late night crowd! in addition to the pizza, there was a small cooler filled w sodas and beers, a nice touch. Artichoke Pizza is absolutely worth the late night stop.

I had Artichoke pizza many many years ago when I was a freshman in college and decided to try it again because I remembered it being really good. I was blown away by how delicious the pizza was. I'm glad I ended up only getting one Artichoke slice because it was a pretty big slice. I think it has a blend of cheeses and it's really flavorful and is made to perfection. I also got garlic knots which were huge and I had to eat them later lol but also very good. The restaurant was small and didn't have indoor seating yet but I believe they have some outdoor seating. They are also requiring you wear a mask so make sure you mask up. They accept card for payment. The staff was friendly and prices were decent for what you get. I would highly recommend this place to pizza lovers and artichoke lovers and cheese lovers alike.

I am 100% one of those people who have to see what the big deal is when there's some hype. In this case, I've already had artichokes, as much as i wanted in fact, at a work event. I was not impressed at all, confused, so I ate more and couldnt figure out what New Yorkers liked about this. My wife begged, vouched for this spot, said my catering was on a bad day, fine. Rainy day out we stopped for a pepperoni and a regular, surprise surprise, STILL not impressed. For sure, it was better than what I had had initially, but it still didnt have that New York umph. It was like a cross between princes pizza(where i had an almost identical experience) and a dollar pizza, but for more money than both. The pepperoni in fact was served a little on the burnt side, and the cheese slice was barely pulled together. All in all, I am from the Bronx, maybe still figuring this Brooklyn pizza thing out, but I was still dissapointed. No real reason to return.

I was craving pizza and remember they had this location in the neighborhood. I had initially planned to order the artichoke slice but when I saw the crab slice, I was drooling deep inside and I couldn't resist not ordering that one. $5 is a bit pricey for a slice of pizza but it was definitely worth it. The crab slice was thin and packed with the toppings! It was a perfect ratio. Only bad thing was the pizza being a bit on the bland side. Since I took my pizza to-go, I put some salt on it and it was perfect! Would definitely come back for another crab slice (or maybe a pie) and to try their artichoke slice (love the one from the Union Sq location, but need to try theirs).

Many sleepless nights I spent thinking about the indigestion it caused me after eating half a pie. Just kidding, I love Artichoke! Not sure if it's a good thing it opened in my neighborhood though, because now it's even harder to resist. I've corrupted all my friends to come here. $5 for a slice, but it's well worth is. The slice is huge and oh super yummy. Update: The slices I've received here have substantially gotten smaller as the staff has changed. They cut the slices like a regular pizzeria which is not the portion artichoke slices are supposed to be served. Now I would rather go to an Artichoke in the city even though I live in Bay Ridge. I hope they fix this issue as I used to go here regularly. After giving me a slice with the crust black and now the slices being smaller, I am refraining from coming here. Hope they fix this problem. Update: I came 6/13/17 around 11:30 at night and a young man took our order. How refreshing! So polite and gave us nicely heated slices of artichoke and they were the slices that I am used to getting. The infamous huge yummy artichoke slice trademark covered in cheesy goodness!

After walking around Bay Ridge on a Saturday night, my friend and I stumbled upon this infamous pizza store right on the corner on 4th ave! Needless to say, we were both surprised there was an Artichoke Basille's in the area and couldn't wait to try the artichoke pizza but since we were already full, we came back the very next day. I walked in around 4pm on Sunday afternoon and there was already a line of customers waiting to order. The pizzas were all freshly made but quickly consumed with the influx of demand. Since we were going to an event, we ordered an artichoke pizza ($30) which took 20 minutes to make which isn't bad since it's made from scratch and artichoke pizza is pretty heavy on the cream. To be frank, if you are not a huge cheese lover, artichoke pizza in particular might not be the best option for you. One slice will get you too full for anything else because the pizza itself is not only heavy on the cream but also big in size and thick on the crust. I'm not too sure what the other options they offer are but it's definitely a place I'd like to return to give the other flavors a chance. Everyone's going to have their own opinions depending on the preference of your taste buds and while artichoke pizza is not exactly on the top of my favorites, I will say that it's a nice change from a regular slice on the usual. P.S As of right now, it's CASH ONLY.

This place has been on my list for awhile now. Was so excited to finally get the chance to try it but was very disappointed. The pictures look nice but in reality it's not good pizza. My husband and I split the artichoke, pepperoni, and margherita slices. Besides the pizza the service was very nice and friendly - but wont be coming back to the bay ridge location. In the future I'll try another location, maybe the one the city. Artichoke - I came here to finally try this slice but was my least favorite. Hardly no artichoke. The sauce is like an alfredo sauce, tasteless. Too creamy and heavy for my liking. Margherita - Was just okay. Definitely lacking flavor. Pepperoni - If I had to choose this was my favorite out of the three. The pepperoni was nice and crispy but couldn't pick up without the pizza flopping with oil dripping down your chin.

I've always loved Artichoke Pizza in the East Village, and found this serendipitously when we were driving around looking for a quick bite in Bay Ridge. Apparently, it opened recently. Of course you must get the artichoke slice -- $5 for a huge slice that 2 plates have to be used to hold it. So much sauce*, so much cheese. One slice could easily be shared amongst two people, but I refuse to share. I love the brick wall on one side and the floor... definitely instagrammable. $Cash only$ *No really, the pizza is like, 80% sauce

I love the Artichoke slice. So creamy and full of artichokes. The Crab slice was very good and different then any type of pizza I have had before. I also tasted the vodka slice and the pepperoni. Plenty thick cut slices to enjoy.

OMG the artichoke slice is RIDICULOUS I had been wanting to try it for the longest time but never made it to any of the other locations, finally they opened one right by my house. Great spot! The slices are huge, I got the Staten Island and artichoke slice which was like three meals. No indoor or outdoor dining/seating so we just got our pizza to go. Friendly staff and tasty pizza

I have ordered from here exactly four times via UberEats. The first time I ordered a Pepperoni Slice, that was great. The second time I ordered the same Pepperoni slice, it was decent. Each time after, the quality and taste of the slices declined. I placed an order today with hopes of getting the same quality of food as the first time; unfortunately, I was wrong. Today, I ordered the Margherita and Pepperoni slice. The pizza was cold and hard. I want to believe that they gave me slices that had been sitting out because I refuse to believe that they were made fresh. I truly hope they improve the quality of their food for the sake of their loyal patrons. I will not be ordering here again, as the saying goes: "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me."

Did not wear mask properly preparing food. Did not wash hands the entire time after moving boxes and cans off the floor.

I highly recommend the vodka and Staten Island slice. The vodka sauce is like no others. It's chunky and creamy. The Staten Island slice is just meatballs with tomato sauce. Their meatballs are so good I usually order a side of meatballs for later! Their infamous artichoke pizza. Oh it's so good but so bad for you. I can never finish one slice. It's too heavy to gorge down in one sitting. It's humongous also! Definitely grab a pizza buddy to share one slice. A big bonus, they're on seamless and they deliver! They do charge a delivery fee though. Don't remember how much, but they're usually on time if not earlier than the estimated time of arrival.

After last around last Christmas, I got to try this recently. Last time it was in West Village but this time around near Park Slope. Both places were just as good. Only suggestion is to pace yourself else it will be a big hot mess.

OMGoodness....the most wonderful service that I had ever gotten in a NYC/ BK pizza joint ever!!!!! The cashier/ pizza man was incredible super friendly and accommodating after I had placed the wrong order!!!! Artichoke BK Pizza.....totally have love for you and will come back every time!!!!

I've tried this place once before, since they started up in Bay Ridge and I'm glad they are sticking around. With all the competition for pizza in Bay Ridge, this is a nice stand out, that differentiates itself. How do they do that? Quality over quantity. More specifically by creating great slices that are as big as your head for just a little more than the cost of a slice at a regular pizza place. The slice of pepperoni that I just had reminded me of a quality Sicilian slice that was hammered out into a regular slice. The crust is crunchy but not too much, and the pepperoni is of the highest quality, that curls up and has limpid pools of grease forming. Similar to the craving I remember the lady in the HBO show Catastrophe had, just before her husband got into a car accident. (see where my mind goes?) Any slice that takes me more than 10 minutes to eat, is probably going to fill me up. Nice guys at the counter too. Try them.

As far as specialty slices go , MAMAMIA the artichoke hits the mark a solid 8.9 ! Very heavy but it smacks !

If I can give 10 out of 10 I would! As a Brooklyn resident my whole life I have finally found my go-to spot!
