Amazing experience with the most caring staff. The menu has a great mix of classic and unique dishes. We tried the gelato salad and it was delicious! Some other favorites were the lamb, handmade cavatelli, and aperol affogato. Super cozy spot with great drinks too. Perfect spot to celebrate a special occasion too (we saw 3 different groups celebrating birthdays!)

Absolutely loved Il Punto II! The gelato salad with shrimp was such a unique and refreshing starter, definitely a must-try! Everything else was delicious too, from the caprese to the mushroom risotto and gnocchi with pear and salmon. And the Aperol affogato for dessert? Incredible. Perfect balance of sweet and citrus, the best way to end the meal. Plus the drinks! Loveeed the Martinis!! Pistachio, chocolate 😍Great food, cozy vibe, and friendly service!

Everything was good. The wine, food and dessert. Enjoyed our food. I have given 4-star because I have this exact preference for eggplant Parmesan which didn’t match my expectation. Overall loved everything.!

We had an absolutely outstanding dinner at this Italian restaurant — one of our favorite dining experiences in our NYC eating vacation. :) The service was excellent: friendly, attentive, and efficient without being overbearing. Our server made thoughtful recommendations and kept everything moving at the perfect pace. Timing, in fact, was one of the most impressive parts of the evening. We’ve been to other fine dining spots where the food was good, but the pacing was off — too rushed sometimes but too slow between other courses. Here, every course arrived just when it should, allowing us to enjoy the meal without any awkward waits or interruptions. The setting was also just right…nicely designed and quiet enough to have a real conversation without straining to hear each other. As for the food, incredible. Every dish was beautifully plated and full of balanced flavors and textures. We had the lamb, cioppino, squid ink seafood pasta, veal scaloppini, a side of handmade pasta with Bolognese sauce, caprese, and carpaccio. Each one was memorable, and it was clear that a lot of care went into both the ingredients and execution. Desserts were just as strong — classic, well-done, and a perfect way to finish the meal. Overall, this place truly had it all: excellent food, smooth service, great ambiance, and great timing. I’d highly recommend it to anyone looking for a beautiful Italian dining experience.

Miguel was very welcoming. Good service and and good food. I had the gnocchi al gorgonzola. All the flavors came together nicely. Loved the pears and walnuts with it. Even better they don’t charge an extra fee for using a credit card! All restaurants should be this way!! This is the main reason why I tried them and I will be back because of this!

We had a group dinner here and made reservations. Our table was available upon arrival and we were seated promptly and given water and time to review the wine list. The server was efficient filling our water glasses several times. We all ordered pasta dishes and everyone was pleased with their order. The bread was nice and fresh.

Excellent dishes and amazing service! Dishes were served in a timely manner. Everything we picked from the menu was delicious. Definitely, recommending the gelato salad, lobster ravioli, and lamb chops. Pistachio tiramisu and chocolate lava cake with gelato are a must! Definitely, coming back again!

Great little Italian restaurant. A few blocks from the theaters but worth the walk for an after-show cocktail or dinner. Have the Nero Manhattan and the lentil soup.

What a great restaurant to go to. We ended up going twice because of the PEOPLE and the food. We were only here for a week but it was so worth it. Wish they were closer to our area in the SF Bay Area.

Such a great place to eat in New York City. We go there every time we are in New York, most recently in November 2025, and the restaurant seemed even better than ever. Attentive service and excellent food. They open at 5 so we often go before an evening show and they will make sure you are out in time to make the curtain. The homemade gelato and sorbet desserts are excellent.

Came here for a birthday dinner after a show. First time here and had reservations and were seated promptly . Service was very good. Food was delicious as were the drinks. It is a small quaint restaurant but with a goodly amount of options on the menu. I would go back again to try some of the other items listed.

New York City excels at many things, but one of its finest achievements? Italian food. As the birthplace of red-sauce Italian American cooking, it has plenty of top-notch options, and these days, it can feel as if all of Italy is represented here.   Located on the corner of 38th Street and 9th Avenue in Hell's Kitchen, Il Punto translates from Italian, meaning the point is where my partner, my cousin, and I came tonight for some of us as a repeat performance for dinner. Reservations via Yelp are highly recommended, as it gets crowded inside this cozy establishment, as experienced from our last visit a year ago.   Upon arrival a bit early, we were greeted by Antonio, who welcomed us with joy and showed us the passion in him for what he does. He escorted us to our table.   Their menu serves classic Italian dishes from the regions of Florence, Naples, Milan, Rome, Puglia, and beyond, featuring the star of the show, their house-made fresh pastas.   As an appetizer, we each decided on the arancino stuffed with bolognese sauce and mozzarella cheese. For our entrée, we opted for Tagliolini neri ai Frutti di Mare with homemade fresh squid ink tagliolini, Pappardelle alla Bolognese with homemade fresh pappardelle, and one of the specials featuring homemade ravioli with pancetta. We even saved room for dessert and got tortino al cioccolato (chocolate cake), cuore di Sicilia (homemade Sicilian almond pastry), and cannoli di siciliana . Complimentary breadsticks and bread started our meal.   Our food was fresh, seasoned well, and beautifully presented.   Their staff were extremely friendly, helpful, and very attentive, especially our server, Luis. The price was relatively to the area.   We loved everything about Il Punto. We were made to feel welcome from the moment we walked through the door and continue to recommend.

Nice Italian place in a busy area. We had a reservation for about 30. It was a business dinner... And we went through about 15 bottles of Brunello. This place can get really loud and difficult to hear people right next to you. That makes everyone shout even louder. The service was excellent and food pretty good. Appetizers were certainly better than entrees all around. I suggest maybe just coming here for apps and wine. I had the Il Timballo as many others did at my table. We all felt it was kinda meh. Due to the size of our party, apps were served family style and everyone got a choice of entree. All of the apps were good. Antipasto, green salad, Caesar salad, fried calamari, caprese, all nice. Overall, service was good. Good enough food, but remember it can get really loud inside when it's busy.

We were in Times Square and found this restaurant on Google Map. This place is a little bit crowded in the waiting area. When we got seated, our table is close to the other tables on each side of us. The service was great. Our server was friendly, and patiently answered our questions about the menu. The drinks were tasty, and the dishes were delicious. We will be back to try the other items on the menu!

I recently visited for the second time. The first time, it was hopping with lots of energy and enthusiasm. The owner was walking around as a very cordial host. The rest of the staff were equally friendly and hard working. The food is homemade and spectacular. The last time I visited it was on a quiet night -- only a few tables. The staff was once again friendly and professional and the food outstanding. However, the owner was there sitting in the corner on periodic phone calls and never once took the time to come around and greet and check on the guests. With so many other great options in Manhattan, that lack of hospitality questions if I will return for a third time.

Recently came here on a Thursday night with reservations. I arrived early so I sat at the bar and had a glass of wine. The place is nice and the bartender was very friendly. The menu online was a little different than the menu in person but that was alright. I ordered the orecchiette. The dish was really good but portion size is a bit small. We got bread and breadsticks but no butter which I thought was odd. They did not rush us which I appreciate.

The food was excellent. I had the lamb chops and my son ordered one of the steaks. My daughter ordered the salmon. Everything was excellent and made to order correctly.

Visited IL Punto while visiting in NYC, and the staff were incredible! They were so friendly and attentive, and even when we were the last table for the night, they didn't rush us at all. The food was very delicious, fresh and authentic. If you're looking for Italian food in the city, definitely check this spot out!

Food was mediocre. Staff was unfriendly. Caesar salad blah and chicken parmigiana had no flavor or spice. Very disappointing. Atmosphere was very loud.

A wonderful dining experience with extremely kind hosts. Honestly, everything was really good and hit the spot for classic authentic Italian food. It's a cozy date spot in Hell's Kitchen. I would definitely recommend the onion sorbet salad - it's one of the most innovative and unique dishes I've ever had!!

We met here at 12 for a catch-up meal. This place exceeds expectations. Employees maintain pleasantness instead of arrogance. All members of our party enjoyed their food choices. I'm drawn to this restaurant and believe you will be too.

A small cozy restaurant. I was disappointed by the rice balls, they tasted burnt and over cooked. My entree was the salmon which was good and the dessert platter was tasty as well. The restaurant is small so they did their best to fit our large group. They pushed two circular tables together which was a bit awkward.

Came here for a belated Valentine's Day dinner with my boyfriend and had an exceptional meal. The arancini has a saffron-y kick that makes its flavors different from a traditional arancini - just try it. We split the bolognese pappardelle and the lobster ravioli and both were cooked and seasoned perfectly. The service is exceptional, and the ambiance was perfect for a rainy night - plenty of tables of happy diners, melodic jazz, even the bathrooms were cozily painted and vanilla scented. It's clear that extreme care has gone into the vibes as much as it has the food. We both are in New York for work often and people overlook Hell's Kitchen but we've found our go-to, neighborhood gem type spot.

Said they closed at 10 but we had a reservation at 9:30 and they had closed when we arrived. Honestly pretty disappointed since my parents were in town and a friend recommend the place. Do not recommend.

Comfortable but stylish Italian restaurant. Service is top notch and the food is excellent. Reasonable prices and nice wine list.

I wanted some proper Italian food while in NYC, and IL Punto fit the bill. The service was fine, and the ambiance was nice. For an appetizer, I had the beef carpaccio, which was served with an oil and lemon dressed arugula salad. It was the perfect mix of protein and salad, light but satisfying. For my main course, I had the gnocchi, which had an incredibly rich and creamy sauce on them. They were house made, and perfectly cooked.

I owe, what has now become one of my favorite Italian restaurants, an updated review. A matinee Broadway musical, Sweeney Todd (which was phenomenal) deserved a stellar dinner and Il Punto immediately came to mind. I tried this restaurant several months ago and meant to return sooner but time just flew. This visit was the perfect opportunity to ensure an excellent dinner. Upon entering, the manager, Antonio and I hugged as though we were longtime friends. This guy is just amazing--he not only treats everyone like family, but has excellent taste and makes really good recommendations. For starters, I felt like having a Lambrusco and was offered a taste. Since it was a bit on the sweeter side, Antonio suggested mixing it with Prosecco. Viola! A very delicious cocktail. Their Aperol Spritz was also well made and comes recommended if you're a fan. For appetizers, I had to order again their Gelato Insalata. This salad is a must try. Gelato is used as the dressing for the salad which included grilled Shrimp (yum), shaved Parm (double yum), blackberries , tomatoes and a couple other salad ingredients. By far, unlike anything you've tasted. The special salad of the day , Spinach with Mango (and more) was offered to us gratuitously. This was excellent and so refreshing. We also ordered the Caponata as an additional appetizer. Opinion? I thought my parents or grandmother made this in their kitchen. It had all the authentic Sicilian flavors that makes Caponata so good. We both selected the same entree--Black Linguine with Seafood. I have had this pasta dish elsewhere at so many restaurants but none compares to Il Punto. A generous portion that included--Scallops, Shrimps, Calamari, Mussels and Clams--theirs was executed very well. My mouth waters just writing this review. At that point, I was getting very full and packed the rest of the pasta to go especially with dessert coming up. We ordered a traditional Sicilian dessert which was a stuffed almond cookie with a dollop of gelato. Out of this world delicious. The dessert didn't end there. We were surprised with the MUST try Pistachio Tiramisu. A tiramisu unlike anything you've tried. Made with Sicilian pistachios. Excellent. When we wrapped up our fantastic dining experience, we agreed on the following: I'll Punto is a top Italian restaurant that offers a superb dining experience. Antonio and staff are very accommodating and you're able to modify a dish on the menu. Example--Chicken Marsala instead of Veal listed on the menu. The interior is charming and you'll be thinking about the meal you had for days to follow. I know I did.

Love this place! Staff is friendly, service is fast, food is so so delicious! I came with a friend for dinner and ordered a Pinot Noir, the arancino and the orecchiette with sausage and broccoli rabe. The dishes were well made and flavorful. I was deciding between two dishes when I ordered and the server guided me to the orecchiette since the pasta was homemade! It was an excellent choice. Compared to how quickly they took our order and served our food, it seemed like it took awhile to get the check (though the restaurant did seem to get a bit packed toward the end of dinner so totally understandable). The restaurant doesn't look like much from the outside but inside the crowd is buzzing with energy and the place is packed with diners. The pasta was so so good, I will definitely be back!! I want to try a bunch of other stuff from the menu (including some of the mouthwatering looking desserts). 5 stars all around.

During our first night in Manhattan we found this place. They were very friendly the owner knew a lot of people who came through the door. Excellent service and the food was delicious. I had the special of the day fettuccine with lump crab. I highly recommend coming here.

Oh my goodness YES I would totally give them 5 stars...from accommodating us early (even though it may put them out reservation-wise) to delicious food...absolutely recommend them. The establishment was quaint and cozy warm - great holiday decor. The food was a plus! I'll update but try them out if you can

Great! One of the server isn't that fluent in English. But maybe there is also something because I didn't know some Italian words. So I cannot describe the things accurately. The food is a little bit oily, but I think it's because I don't eat all that much that it is pretty good. My friend has already had dinner, so we only ordered one appetizer and one pasta But we still get the bread and the very good service. That is great.

Fantabulous dinner at this restaurant. The food wine and desserts were just incredible. And the ambience and service was superb. Highly recommend the arugula pear salad, mushroom risotto and the almond cake dessert. Can't wait to be back here!

I found this place when we were looking for a restaurant to celebrate our anniversary. I was curious about the gelato salad that has been mentioned in Yelp and Google reviews. Il punto definitely exceeded my expectations. The flavor of the food is definitely on point just like its name. Service was great. All staff members are truly committed to deliver the best service. Antonio, the manager , was super friendly and welcoming. I felt like I had known him for a long time. He truly made our anniversary dinner very special. Compliment bread was fresh and soft and the bread sticks is addicting. Appetizer: I highly recommended the fried calamari. Very crunchy batter and the calamari was not rubbery. . It's served with marinara and spicy dipping. Salad with gelato: it's a must. You will not regret it because you cannot find it anywhere else. The shrimps were fresh, the blackberries were also fresh lighten up the salad. The shaved Parmesan gave enough saltiness to the salad. The server mixed the gelato dressing at the table. It was an excellent salad. I overheard the guy next to me said that he had never had anything like this. Entrée : I picked branzino special of the night served with fresh crab meat and spinach. Fish was cooked perfectly with crispy skin. Crab meat was fresh and sweet. Beautiful presentation. Flavor is on point. We had been waiting for the entree quite a while and I had to ask about it. However, Antonio nicely compensated that with amazing desserts for our anniversary celebration. Pistachio tiramisu: he even put a candle on top. Very sweet. I enjoy the lady fingers and I can taste the pistachio. Very light dessert. So delicious. Almond cookies with jam fillings: the cookies were served with ice cream and it had very authentic flavor. The cookies really took me to Italy m. Very special, you cannot find it anywhere. I really thank Antonio and his staff for a wonderful dinner experience. Grazie mille. Siamo davvero felici e soddisfatti. Il punto is definitely a gem.

Amazing service from the minute you step in. The owner and the staff are super friendly and accommodating. My friend's mom was in a wheelchair and they went to all lengths to make sure she was comfortable and felt welcomed. The food was amazing. We had the ravioli with lobster, the lamb chops special, and the cavatelli all norma. The wine bottle prices were also reasonable. Would come back here in a heartbeat. I would skip all of the overly-hyped Italian restaurants and come here if you want to have excellent food in a comfortable, welcoming surroundings.

Found this location one rainy evening after work with friends from out of town. Went for an early dinner and thought it was quiet in this place did we pick a dud. The answer is nooooo. This place filled up quick at the normal dinner hours and it was packed. The service was timely and spot on and the staff were knowledgeable. Food was good and I will be returning with other friends that would enjoy a good Italian meal that is reasonably priced.

A cozy Italian restaurant with some great food! We ordered appetizers to share for the table and our own entrees. The appetizers didn't stand out much to me, and I thought the carpaccio was not worth (super thin slices of meat, mostly arugula). However I got the special of the day which was lamb chops, and they were cooked to PERFECTION! A beautiful pink medium rare and the balsamic glaze and potatoes were delicious. The free warm bread and EVOO + balsamic is a classic.

Pros: Butternut squash amazing ! Caesar salad very good! Great wine list . Impeccable service.! Homemade cannolis! Cons: they're playing 80's misc..terrible. It takes away from the ambiance and the quality of the food and service. They should play Italian if jazz.. not Man Eater from the 80's

Not stellar yesterday Maybe we hit it on a bad night. We had an early reservation at 6:30 and the place was not full. The pesto pasta dish was unexpected. Instead of traditional basil, the flavor derived from arugula. The waiter indicated that the menu was clear, but maybe we missed that. The taste was bitter The veal Marsala was served tepid. The veal was very tough and completely drenched with the sauce. Not pleasing. The restaurant's ambiance was pleasant and the service was very good.

As good on May 17 as it was the last time we were there five years ago. Outstanding pasta, halibut and lamb chops.

This place has to be one of my favorite restaurants in the city, and certainly in the neighborhood. It's a no frills Italian restaurant with amazing, homemade pastas and excellent service. Highly recommend the orecchiette and the squid ink pasta, as well as the fettuccine when they have it (they have daily fresh pasta specials in addition to the fresh pastas on the regular menu). I also love the seafood salad and also enjoyed the gelato salad, which is quite interesting (literally gelato in salad - don't knock it before you try it). So in love with this place and could not recommend it more. We have been regulars here the last two years and will continue coming back for years to come!

While visiting in NY, we had a long day and really wanted some good quality Italian food. My husband read reviews on this spot and luckily, they were able to accommodate our party of 4 for dinner. The location was not very large, and was very busy (as we were traveling in mid-December), so we called ahead earlier in the day. When we arrived about 10 minutes prior to our reservation time, we only had to wait a few minutes before being seated. The welcome was very genuine, and we were greeted with a smile. As far as first impressions go for an Italian restaurant in New York? This was outstanding. The ambience here is so cozy and comfortable. You really feel like you're dining in someone's house, which is something we love about smaller Italian restaurants. The severs were also very friendly, knowledgeable, and happy to provide recommendations based on our preferences. I opted for the chicken parmesan and the tomato sauce was SO DELICIOUS. I can certainly see why it was a recommendation. My husband ordered a special ravioli that they had, and it was devoured very quickly; I think he liked it. The plates are elegantly dressed, and the prices are reasonable seeing the quality and experience you receive while dining here. There are so many dining options in NY, so it's nice to visit a place with reasonable pricing and amazing food and drinks. We will definitely be back to try other menu items - bravo!

Landed here after a business meeting in HUdson Yards, and it was a solid choice! Great service in a comfy atmosphere. The mozzarella was fresh and delicious, even if the tomatoes weren't quite in season. The calamari appetizer was outstanding, with spicy aioli. Everyone enjoyed their dinners, which included lamb chops, a timbali, various pastas. Thumbs up to everything! Dessert was a variety of sweets, which were also a big hit!

My husband and I are frequent many resturants. THIS WAS BY FAR WAS ONE OF THE BEST DINING EXPERIENCE FOR US. The food, drinks, dessert, and service were absolutely amazing. Do yourself a favor, make a reservation for IL Punto you will see this review fails to express how this place is ABSOLUTELY AWESOME !!

So good! Nice cozy little restaurant with great service and delicious food. They had a lot of nice pasta options on the menu including zucchini noodles. Would definitely return. My husband has the chicken Milanese salad and a lentil soup. Both were delicious. I had the zucchini noodles with sausage and broccoli rabe. So good!!

This was sooo bad! These people surely have all their relatives, friends and a few paid others posting positive reviews. Our hotel was super close, so we thought we'd have a nice experience. This is not authentic Italian by any stretch of the imagination. It's not even "red sauce Italian" but more of a tasteless tourist trap. My risotto was the worst I've ever had. My friend's penne was bland as could be. I've been to Italy several times, and let me tell you: I've had yummier food at Olive Garden. No joke! Servers and all staff you see is all nationalities except Italian. No problem there, but from the reviews you'd think this place was the real deal. Don't say I didn't warn you!!!

Excellent Italian restaurant on the West Side. The food and service were both excellent. It was very loud in the restaurant, but you could still have a conversation with your table. We started with the calamari and it was a generous portion for 4 people to share. The highlight was the chicken milanese. It was so tender and flavorful. The linguini and clams were excellent with fresh clams. My wife also enjoyed the tortellini. They were delicious and filling. I would definitely recommend this place when looking for an Italian restaurant.

Service was excellent, the lighting could have been more dim to set a better mood, and food was decent. The Il timballo (aka lasagna) was good, but small, and the bechamel was too subtle. We did try the pistachio tiramisu, and that was a surprisingly nice twist to end the meal.

We made reservations through Open Table and when we arrived we were sat nearly right away (despite a busy Saturday evening). We enjoyed the small restaurant atmosphere and kindhearted staff. Quaint inside with maybe 25 tables total, we were never waiting more than a second. Nice wine list. Full service bar. Fresh pasta with more American heavy dishes. Would love to see easy dishes like in Roma- perhaps a carbonara or pomodoro sauce over fettuccine for those who prefer lighter fare. Also, the cheese plate for dessert would definitely serve better as an appetizer! Food was good. Portions nice. Overall, we would visit again!

WOW, what a great experience. My wife is a picky pescatarian, and the owner was right there making suggestions and making us laugh. We had a salad with shrimp topped with gelato! It was fantastic. Homemade pasta with lobster and lamb chops that were seasoned and cooked perfectly. Can't wait to return.

Went there with my High school friends. We had a blast. Food was very good. Service was great. Highly recomended if you are craving for italian food. Their dessert were so good too.

Made a reservation here with two friends for a Friday night during a quick NYC weekend. Lovely place, festive yet cozy, professional service, great Italian. Bottle of Chianti Classico Riserva was delish and we all loved our entrees-pappardelle bolognese, linguini with clams and gnocchi with red sauce. Salads were hearty and could easily be split.
