First time venturing into the Base Camp at the Market Station. Despite having just a few shops, the place looked quite neat and quiet comparing the noisy 16th Street nearby. As Westword just named Milk Tea People here as the best tea shop in town, certainly have to try it out. Different from other tea shops, the store followed the minimalist style, was simple, clean, and uncluttered. They didn't have boba and did not use refined sugar for their drinks. What even more amazing and one of the kind was they followed the traditional steps preparing match, from putting the matcha power into the tea bowl, adding boiling water, using the tea whisk to blend the matcha and make the fluffy foam. The resulting drink was creamy, lightly bitter and earthy with a subtle sweetness. Quite distinctly from the many boba tea shops around town. Heard their signature wafchi (waffle with mochi) with gelato was also quite good, but did not try it this time.
