Enjoyed the lunch buffet. There were so many options! Street parking is a bit challenging. Staff was very helpful. There is a step within the restaurant to get into area of the buffet, so if you’re needing to use a wheeled mobility device, I suggest you call ahead. There is a nice size private room. The bathroom was large and clean.

I was disappointed with their momo. The wrap was not cooked fully and the filling was not enough. The sauce for Nepali momo was also not authentic but some readymade sauce. The Biryani was worst. It was yellow rice with some chicken breast. Don't ever I dare to try it at Everest. Not going there again.

Really sweet owners and wonderful service! It's such an important mission to bring healthy Asian food to the community. The atmosphere is really cozy, and several of the buffet dishes really hit my craving for homemade food.

I've missed this place. The midday buffet is always worth stopping by for lunch. The food is very very good. They also offer Vegetarian and Gluten Free food on a completely different table. The buffet menu changes so I can only write about what I ate. My favorites are the Saag Paneer and this spicy chicken dish.

If you want something tasty AND healthy this is a safe bet. We came here because my girlfriend is Korean and this restaurant boasts a Nepalese/Korean fusion menu. Nothing like we’ve ever seen. I ordered something similar to chicken tikka kebab which is what I always get when I’m anywhere in this neighborhood of cuisine. The dish I received was not what I was expecting but the chicken was very flavorful and juicy for what it was. You can very clearly tell the establishment focuses heavily on low fat and low sodium to be as healthy as possible. This makes perfect sense when you find out one of the owners is a doctor with multiple degrees relevant to such pursuits. 8.1/10 Clucks Very friendly staff. Would strongly recommend for a wholesome, guilt-free meal.

Everest is one of my long-time favorite restaurants in St. Louis - the staff are kind and attentive, the atmosphere is cozy and inviting, and although everything on the menu is delicious, I keep coming back for the saag paneer dish in particular! It’s unbelievably good 😋

The food was simply delicious. It tasted very healthy and clean while still being tasteful. The owners were very kind and he even came to speak with us while we were eating to get our feedback and talked about his personal mission. Both of them seemed very sweet and down to earth. We need more people like them in our communities. Thank you for enriching the lives around you!

First time but it won’t be our last!!! Incredibly delicious experience. Rich, complex flavors, just what I’m looking for in a dinner out. I’ll be back to try out the lunch buffet. The Everest Cafe is going on our “go to” list of STL restaurants.

My new favorite restaurant Unique, International and absolutely Delicious. Tried the samosa(Excellent!), JJ Noodles with the dumplings was Amazeballs!! My date got the Egg Chow-Chow- also very good! Tried soju for the first time, highly recommend Grapefruit flavor. I will be back soon! Our waitress was super sweet and patiently explained the menu items and gave great recommendations!

We really enjoyed the lunch buffet here. Sadly, it seems like COVID killed off most of the area's Indian lunch buffets, but this one is still going strong. We arrived towards the end of the lunch hours, and I was concerned that they might be out of a bunch of the buffet items, but they were continuing to re-stock the buffet while we were there. Besides lots of savory meat and vegetarian dishes, there were also two kinds of soup, and milk tea, which seemed unusual for a buffet, but tasty. Also mango pudding and rice pudding for dessert. I also liked that they had poppadom in the buffet. I remembered back to some older STL-area Indian restaurants that would put complimentary poppadam on the table, but I haven't seen it in a long time, except as something you have to order if a menu. The staff is friendly and the ambience is warm and welcoming. And the buffet is reasonably priced. They do ask that you eat what you take, and threaten to charge $5/plate if you leave food uneaten. We'll be back for more.

Food: 3 stars Service: 3 stars I really wanted to like this place. There are so many spices and flavors to play with when it comes to Nepalese, Korean, and Indian dishes. Unfortunately, these flavors fell flat and didn't help create a spotlight on this cafe like I was hoping. We swung by over the weekend while they ran their all you can eat lunch buffet. While there was a variety of meat and vegetarian options available, many of them were more or less similar to each other. Being Korean, I was disappointed in many of the Korean (or Korean inspired) dishes that were prepared. Many lacked flavor and depth. The japchae had few vegetables mixed in with the glass noodles. The bulgogi chicken tasted nothing like traditional bulgogi sauce. We did enjoy their mango juice and a couple of their Indian curries.

Momo was fire and goat curry was rly good. But the japchae was rly not good and the lamb skewer thing was rly tough/hard to chew! Would still come back for momo

Went to the buffet lunch . So many great and delicious choices. Many vegetarian dishes. Soup, naan, delicious sauces (tamarind, yum). Service polite and speedy. Eat up until 2:30 weekdays and get to watch a Bollywood movie while you enjoy the food!!

I've gotta say, those are some of THE best pork mandu I've ever had! And I lived in Korea for 3.5 years!!! They were HUGE and flavorful! The daal on the other hand didn't have much flavor as far as I was concerned. The chicken tandoori was good, but my friend's chicken korma was BETTAH. Wish I'd ordered THAT. Ah well, live and learn. The vegetable samosas were good but not wonderful. Overall, I enjoyed our meal here. The service was good, but I wish the table would've been bigger? Not enough room for all dat stuff! Would come back.

My friends and I stopped by Everest Cafe to try their lunch buffet special on Monday. Since COVID, I've noticed there are fewer and fewer Indian buffets so I was very excited to try out this place! The lunch buffet runs Friday-Monday and costs $15 per person before tax and tip. We all thoroughly enjoyed the food and the variety that there was! I especially enjoyed the naan and the chicken korma/tikka masala. The chicken was very flavorful and the naan was nicely warm and had that classic naan taste. There were other dishes that were not traditional Indian cuisine as well-- one of my friends really enjoyed the japchae (a Korean stir fried glass noodle dish). Overall, we really enjoyed our meal and I look forward to going back!

First time visitors to Everest Cafe. It will NOT be my last. The food was great. High quality ingredients and delicious flavors. The owner was so nice. Can to the table to greet us and walked us to the buffet telling us about each dish and how he made it. His passion for his craft was incredible. And that passion comes through in the food.

We had Everest's food at the Festival of Nations in Tower Grove Park yesterday and were blown away by their food. The stand was serving Vegetable Samosas, Chicken Samosas, Vegetable Momos, Chicken Momos, and Chicken Cholea, a more limited menu than I take is available in-restaurant. All the proceeds that day went to support a nonprofit, Himalayan Healthcare, which I take the owners are heavily involved in. All of the staff was friendly and very informative about the nonprofit and how monsoon season affects the people of Northeast Nepal. The food was so good. We had the Chicken Cholea and Chicken Momos. The smell of the Cholea cooking originally drew us to the tent; it was mouth-watering. Both dishes were incredibly flavorful and spiced perfectly. We will definitely be heading to the restaurant itself sometime in our future.

I really don't mean to be rude but I have to ask -- what HAPPENED to this place?? I hadn't been since COVID and finally went back yesterday. This used to be one of my absolute favorite places to eat in STL. delicious & great ambiance. Sadly those days are gone. The food was absolutely inedible. Watery, thin, pinkish tikka masala and frozen Mo Mos :( not only that, but the nice cozy ambiance is gone too. It was dead silent (no music or anything) and empty at 7 pm on a Saturday. I literally cried after I left, I am so so so sad that one of my favorite places has come to this.

10/10, every time. Friendly service - they remembered me a month after my first time in. The food is incredible. Underrated spot in the grove!

I used to work nearby and this was our go to place for lunch. Been a few years since I have been there and was happy to see that they are still there and have expended to next door! Lunch buffet did not disappoint, with a great variety of vege and meet options to try! The naan always seems to be empty, because as soon as it come out, people grab 3-5 each! Very tasty and a great way to enjoy the sauces. Brought my family here for lunch today and tried a bit of everything. The korma is my favorite and we all enjoyed the variety and quality. The history of the owner and the focus of their mission is something that everyone should learn about while there. Buffet was a bit more than I remember (around $16 each) so go hungry and enjoy!

Everest is as good as it gets for a typical pan-Indian lunch buffets. We love the various dishes of Nepalese, Korean, and Indian cuisine. Everything we tried was delicious. It also has a nice chill ambiance that was not overly noisy. Took off one star because our empty plates weren't being picked up. Granted there were not many staff. We will definitely be back when visiting again.

Everest has always been one of those low key hidden gems in St. Louis. It sits in an unassuming storefront on the East end of the Grove. I tend to go to Everest for their lunch buffet. To say it is a deal would be an understatement. The price is modest and there is a great mixture of vegetarian and meat dishes, naan, and some light dishes. The buffet is continuously restocked and the staff makes sure to get your seated quickly. The biggest problem is having to choice between all of the different dishes and prioritize what is the best (for me chicken tikka masala).

I love this place. I have gone twice in one week without hesitation or fear. Very kind staff. Good vibes.

I came here after work on a Thursday evening, and the place was completely empty aside from a couple of people. As soon as you walk in, the interior looks pretty small, but it opens up into another large room to the right where everyone is seated. I'm surprised I haven't been here before because the food was SO good. I got the tofu with veggies, and I was surprised at how amazing the flavors were. The tofu itself was pretty standard, but the veggies and sauce were bomb. I also got the garlic naan, which was a real treat to soak up the remaining juices. My friend got the samosa & chicken tikka masala, which he seemed to really like. The staff is super friendly, and everything comes out super quick. There is paid street parking, and the meter maids were out writing tickets 30 minutes before it became free, so something to keep in mind. The location is in a really great part of manchester if you fancy having dinner and bar hopping after.

Stumbled upon this when I was walking around one night and had to try it! The food here is next level. They have dine in and takeout! We met the owner and he is very nice you can tell he works hard to make the food the very best he can! Try this place ASAP

My boyfriend and I found this plate while walking in The Grove. This is some of the freshest food we have had. You can tell the dumplings are home made in the ramen. The Chicken was smokey yet so flavorful. Our waitress was so kind, explained everything very well and was super attentive. The kimchi was to die for. You can tell it's made in house. We left feeling full and happy, yet happy about what was consumed. Their story is super interesting & worth a stop!!!

One word, divine! Okay, maybe I am just really drawn to good Indian food. Based on several recommendations, but from my family and locals, they had pointed me to Everest Cafe & Bar when asked where was some good Indian digs. First the neighborhood is very trendy, more so of a San Francisco or Austin SoCo vibe, which is fun, plus plenty of parking. The actual location itself is not the largest, but very suitable for pre COVID times as their outdoor is very limited. Inside is clean and well laid out with a superb staff that is not overbearing, but on top of things. As for the menu itself, very straight forward with a few non typical Indian dishes. I played it safe and went with the vegetable chicken in a Nepalese sauce, easy 4.5 out of 5! My family member went with her local favorite which is the vegetable korma, which she had nothing but rave reviews about. We also got a side of naan, which was good, but nothing extraordinary. Price point for the meal was outstanding, but then again where I live things just typically are more money no matter what you are talking about. Would I dine at Everest Cafe & Bar again? You bet your bottom dollar, a solid choice for any looking for some great Indian food.

Delightful! I had a share of the Chicken Tikka Masala, Steamed Pork Mo-Mo, Samosas to start and Naan. Everything was tasty and prepared well. Staff was very courteous.

Delish, family owned fusion place (Nepalese, India and South Korean). To my understanding the owner also has a non/profit benefiting Nepal. Please take my money for delish food that benefits a developing nation by people from that nation.

Shouldn't have switched Indian food spots. My chicken tikka masala is hot pink in color and tastes like butter and nothing else. It's really awful. I'm looking at the photos other people have posted and the tikka masala does not look like this. I usually give a place two tries before I won't go back, but this is pretty bad.

We love Indian food. I'm kind of a weird when it comes to heat but my boyfriend enjoys food as hot as it comes. So sometimes I'm nervous trying new Indian places. I usually mention my "wussiness" when I order the food but this time I totally forgot. Needless to say, I was a little nervous to get my food. I had been wanting to try this place and knew where it was. I'm glad we did because I'm concerned they aren't getting a lot of guests since the front of their place is all torn up. We ordered vegetable samosas - these were honestly... the best I've ever had of these. They were crispy, not greasy, big and full of flavor (not just a bunch of peas and potatoes). My boyfriend got the Chicken Tiki Masala - he said it was great (although it wasn't enough). The garlic Naan was fine it wasn't very big but with the food we bought it worked. I was disappointed that there wasn't any raita. We were told that it was because of covid. I had the Annapurna trail. It was really good, although I thought the noodles were just plain spaghetti. The flavor wasn't too hot. Just enough heat to know you were eating Indian food. Also the lime that was included was so small I'm not even sure if it should have been included. I look forward to trying them again soon.

The buffet is so good! It's like $17 and you are basically trying the whole menu. I tasted some great food that I would've never thought to try if it hadn't been for the buffet. My taste buds have expanded!

I like variety, but this was my first Korean-Nepali restaurant. This unusual business operates under some charitable auspices as well. I went for lunch, which was a buffet, and it was crowded. I waited several minutes for a table, even at 1. The buffet contained plenty of both types of cuisine. There was a vegetarian row of dishes, plus a salad bar and some pretty tasty milk tea. Some things work better in buffets than others; the japchae were rather soggy for my taste, and I wasn't wild about all the options that they put out. On the Nepali side, their aloo tama bodi, a black-eyed pea and potato curry, was the sourest version of the dish I'd ever had due to pickled bamboo shoots, but still interesting enough that I went back for seconds. Even with the up and down options, I got plenty of value from the buffet. I'd be happy to go back and order dinner off the menu if I had the chance.

We were looking for some local tikka masala, and after living in U City and having multiple options, this seemed to be the only one open near the city that has paneer. We decided to do pick up, which did take them 40 minutes, but that just means it was freshly made! When we got there, there were multiple people waiting for food, including a doordasher who ended up walking away. They weren't doing dine in, so I'm not sure why they weren't being attentive to customers. Once we finally got our food, it was pretty awesome. Their samosas are AMAZING - probably the best I've had in the area, I highly recommend them as a starter. I got their paneer tikka masala which was also very good - extremely unique as the flavor isn't the traditional Indian flavor, I will definitely be back to try it again. Their paneer was firm and flavorful which was awesome. The lamb with mixed veggies was good, not super memorable but good flavor. We will definitely be back to try a few items on their menu, I know dining rooms just closed down again so I'm assuming they're having a few bumps getting back to carry out only, but we did enjoy our meal and it is a super convenient location.

Overpriced food, genuinely does not taste good. Pissed I ordered from here. Ended up tossing everything besides the rice and samosas.

As Indian cuisine lovers, we are always excited to try new places out. We went for a the lunch buffet on Sunday. The atmosphere is as you would expect for a Grove restaurant, eclectic but somewhat run down. The food on the buffet did not look appealing with the chicken korma looking more like soup that any korma I have eaten before. Most food choices were relatively bland (the vegetable Korma was passable). Having random Korean dishes thrown in did not help matters. My experience with Bulgogi is limited but it didn't taste great. The service was very limited and we were serving ourselves for most of it including drinks. All in all not the best experience.

Good Indian food is bursting with flavor, a beautiful commingling of dozens of spices, herbs, and aromatics. Unfortunately, Everest Cafe & Bar does not provide that. Chicken korma is a classic dish and, in my opinion, a good measure of what a restaurant can provide. Here, the korma was...bland. I can't really think of much else to describe it, there just wasn't much flavor. The tofu tikka masala tasted slightly different, but was similarly bland (in addition to having an off-putting artificially reddish orange color). I usually attempt to give a bit more detail in my reviews, but there just isn't much I can say about bland food. It wasn't bad, it just wasn't interesting or good.

After circling the block 3x, we hit the jackpot with a parking spot directly across the street. Score!!! Party of 4 at about 730pm. Greeted promptly and advised there was a 15min wait, which ended up being a hair over 5 min. No problem. We ordered pork momos as an app (delish) and each ordered a different meal. My husband was told his dish wasn't available, as they ran out of the noodles for it. As such, the chef offered to make an off-menu dish at the same price. Home run! I have no idea what is was, aside from fabulous. Everyone at the table appeared to be having supernatural experiences with their rolled back in their heads and guttural sounds- turns out it was just that good! The spicy chicken was smoking! The masala was perfectly balanced! The goat, while it had more fat left in than I care for, was tender and flavorful. Jasmine tea was just what us women needed on a cool night and the men folk loved the imported beer. Service was phenomenal and food was on point. 4 meals, 2 appetizers, a teas and 2 large beers = $115 total.

We ate here on a recent trip to St. Louis. Awful! my dish was so hot my mouth burned for hours. I only had 2 bites. This was supposed to be their mildest dish. The waitress kept saying it wasn't hot when I complained. I asked to have it removed from our bill and was given flack about it b/c it wasn't hot! Finally they took it off our bill but what a horrible experienc. Indian is one of my favorite cuisines but this was so bad.

I love their food. they are just amazing. I believe they are making Workd best vegetable korma. a must eat if you are visiting St. Louis!!!!

I would skip this restaurant. Food is just ok, and some dishes not appealing at all We ordered: Pork bibimbop : Very basic flavors nothing special and not worth going to a restaurant for. Chili Pork Momo: This was not bad actually the best of the 3 dishes we ordered, but still just ok. Chili Paneer: I did not like this at all, possibly just me, but it was very off putting. All in all this restaurant tries to do too many different cuisines but does not master any. Spend your money elsewhere.

Hours posted here are incorrect. You will need to web search their website or fb page to find hours. Also, the website listed here is not operating Drove over to the restaurant for nothing!!!

Great good! We Always with leftovers and every dish is delicious. Highly recommend you go asap!

The food is generally good, but the prices have increased to the point that it is impossible to justify the very small portion sizes any longer. In the past year, they have increased the price of their chicken tikka masala 30% while still offering only a very small 16 oz cup with very little chicken and charging extra for naan. To get a small portion of chicken tikka masala and naan that will fail to fill you up, you are going to spend over $20. While the dine-in and buffet options may well be worth it, the takeout options simply are not.

It makes me sad that this place didn't live up to the hype. Let's talk food first, all the more Indian type of food looked amazing and friends loved it. All the nepalese/Tibetan food left me wanting. I got the big sampler platter with veggies, rice, pickled greens, lentil soup, spicy sauce, and rice pudding. The rice, pickled greens, and spicy sauce were good but the bulk of the meal, the veggies and soup, were off in flavor and didn't taste very good. I left half on my plate. My friend got the tomato, tofu, spinach entree and it was also bland and looked/tasted more like tomato soup with large chunks of uncooked tofu. It def wasn't what she was expecting. The staff, while friendly, made the check out experience a 2 Star experience. We had a group of 10 (several are regulars there) and made reservations for 6 pm. They made a big fuss about only accepting 4 credit cards. It was a huge mess because it meant a lot of Venmo was happening after dinner and the time it took to break down the bill was longer than if they just charged each of us. Not sure why they insisted on this, this day in age, we all would have paid more to have the bill split and auto gratuity added. It's a cute place and their history is inspiring, but overall the food and hassle won't bring me back again.

Came to Everest on a Tuesday. One sign on the front door said open 7 days a week. Then right below that sign it said closed Tuesdays. I was there on a Tuesday as both Yelp and Google showed them as open. On a return visit I was excited to try their buffet. But I have to tell ya, I was unimpressed. The dishes didn't WOW me. The naan wasn't very fresh, the gravy wasn't very thick. The biryani lacked kick. Pakora is more like giant deep fried slice of squash. not a mix of veggies. The bathroom feels dirty and makes me wonder what the kitchen looks like. I've been here for dinner with my wife as well. That was awhile back but I remember thinking it was ok. But that I should try the buffet. I've done both now and feel like Everest is just "A-OK".

I have been wanting to try this place for awhile! I was pleasantly surprised that they have a lunch buffet until 2:30 for $10!!! This is definitely worth every penny! The food is delicious! The naan was soft, the creamy spinach was bomb, and the chicken leg was really good! The fried veggie was nice and crisp and I loved the breading. This a great spot.

One of my favorite ethnic restaurants in St Louis. A combination of Indian, Thai and Nepalese food. The chicken tikka masal is the best in town!

Oh my people... This place rocked my Nepalese loving socks. Came for their lunch buffet. Which brings me to my first point; go for the lunch buffet. Once seated, you simply let your server know you're there for the buffet and head toward the back of the restaurant where you'll find a room full of Himalayan awesome. There are so many wonderful dishes to try! First problem: a plate is only so big. Good thing they allow for multiple trips! The standouts for lunch were the chicken korma (which happens to be one of my favorite dishes in general and Everest certainly does it well!) as well as the veggie korma (which is not something I typically go for, but my dining companion recommended it and I was so glad she did! So delish!). Really, though, there was nothing on my plate I didn't enjoy. If you've never been, or are new to Nepalese food, my recommendation would be to try a little bit of everything (they have Korean and Indian inspired dishes, in addition to traditional Nepalese and all were wonderful). They're definitely busy at lunch time, but we were able to get seating for three without any wait. The service was friendly and efficient. The seating is snug (ie: not a huge amount of room between tables) which was fine with me, but something to note if you prefer more spacious dining. Get to it!

Update! Of course you know by now, but I wanted to update. They are fully back in business and now offer the lunch buffet on Fri/Sat/Sun and Mon! Yea! I'm still addicted.

FOOD: Seeing the rave reviews of Indian and Himalayan cuisine, I was excited to explore the options. I had a chicken tarkari while my sister had the vegetable platter with a side of Naan- to be honest, the flavors were dull, the chicken dry, and the spices unexciting. The naan was crisp and light but everything else fell a bit short of high expectations. SERVICE: Seemed like only two people were manning the restaurant as our poor waitress was running back and forth between multiple tables that were waiting longer than us. Probably took 45 minutes for food to come out after being ordered with a restaurant that was not at max capacity. ENVIRONMENT: Plenty of parking around in the Grove, the inside has a lot of decor that is unique and different for sure. VALUE: Most entrees are probably $12-15, standard for Indian cuisine in my opinion. The quantity of food wasn't an issue, we left full. SUMMARY: A bit disappointed after hearing such rave reviews because our food was not the most flavorful nor imaginative when you hear of a "Himalayan/Indian/Korean" spot. Nothing done terribly wrong but also nothing warranting a return back.

This is one of my favorite Indian food places to go in stl. I have tried few other Indian places like Bombay next to the airport, Anis on olive, and Rasoi in CWE but I keep going back to the Everest Cafe & Bar. Just like any other Indian restaurants they offer lunch buffet and their menu changes every time, which is good that way you can try different curries and food they offer. The owner's wife is korean so they also have some Korean food on their menu as well as during their lunch buffet. If you like trying various cuisines then def check this place out. It's a very causal place and small restaurant but has very delicious food. Their butter chicken and tikka masala are my regular goto if you need a recommendation. But if it's your first time here, then defiantly check out the lunch buffet so you can try different food. They also offer student discounts if you show them your student ID.

Incredible food and the perfect place to meet with a group of friends. Every time my friends are in town, we all meet around the table at Everest and enjoy the buffet until we're all warm, full, and happy.
