The water in front of these chic, upscale self-catering cottages is also awesome for swimming as it is very safe and calm and there are rock pools to explore. A good family option, the newly constructed, eco-friendly beach houses are owned and run by Barbudans and offer one or three bedroom options. The cottages are located a 15-minute taxi ride from the village where the ferry pier and airport are – if you're going to cook for yourself (recommended for most meals) stock up in town before heading to the southwest coast."

We agree with the five star reviews of this unusually tranquil and scenic slice of heaven. Kelcina’s curated experience is centered on place, hospitality, beauty, and relaxation. A native of Barbuda, Barbuda Cottages is deeply personal to her, and so is her desire to surround her guests with peace, delicious food (at Roddy’s) and drink, the best recommendations, and more. All great businesses are run by leaders who care, and this family and their teammates care so much, they become your family. It’s also the best value for all it offers. We were seeking an escape from a hectic schedule, alone time, views, quiet, and enough options (not too many) for sightseeing and cuisine, without the obligation to choose. We wanted to land in a place where we could unwind, read, and just be. This choice could not have been better. If you love long walks on the beach, drinks at sunset followed by dinner without leaving the property; if you support sustainability and ecological preservation; if you appreciate being four minutes from Princess Diana’s favorite beach where you can take long walks, enjoy the best lobster you’ve ever had, and don’t mind dodging a few potholes and donkeys on the way; if you love the idea of being even closer to Nobu for an elevated and delicious experience; if you understand that a few sandflies come with … sand and the tropics; if you love animals, and if you are not persnickety… then you MUST try Barbuda Cottages. Like us, if you are most comfortable with a Bohemian vibe (me) that provides all of your needs, including luxury (both of us) — make plans to come here! I saw my first untethered horse gently strolling on the beach at sunset from our perch on the beautiful new deck, cocktail in hand (a bucket list item :). We stayed for nine days. Heaven.

I was not supposed to spend the night in Barbuda but with no flights until the following morning, I ended up with a stay at one of the beautiful and well appointed homes at Barbuda Cottages. Host Kelcina provided me with everything I could need (and more) for an unplanned overnight stay away from home. A possible miserable experience turned into a delightful stay. The on-site restaurant (Uncle Roddy's) was still closed for renovations but they fed me anyway. I got to play on my own private beach at sunset and sunrise and I got chauffeured back to the airport in time for the flight the next morning. I will definitely go back to Barbuda Cottages -- for a well planned multi day trip next time!!

Best family vacation spot! Barbuda Cottages exceeded our expectations! The owners Kalcina and Oliver are the nicest, most accommodating people and they went out of their way to make our vacation special. The cottages are beautiful and so well equipped. Groceries were stocked in the cottage when we arrived. The food and service at Uncle Roddy’s were top notch. The beaches are secluded with crystal clear turquoise water, and amazingly soft sand. Kalcina helped us plan a few excursions and even arranged for a steel band to play at the restaurant one night. They arranged for taxi rides as needed and yoga on the beach. Our family of 6 had the best vacation in the 3 bedroom yellow cottage. Would highly recommend this place for a low key vacation in a beautiful setting.

This is the most amazing place I’ve ever been. The island of Barbuda is an untouched gem. Go there before all the resorts come in and turn it into St. Maarten or some other tourist destination. Me and my wife spent 4 days at there and I wish we would have spent 4 weeks. We rented a car from Karen’s Car Rentals and she dropped it off right at our cottage. We spent a few days exploring the island and didn’t see anyone for 2 days. The cottages are every bit as beautiful as the pictures show. They are extremely private, clean, well furnished with comfortable beds and furniture. Each cottage also has its own pergola on the beach. The resort is quiet and very private. If you want to be alone or feel like you’re alone but still have access to all the amenities that you need then this is a dream come true. Kelcina and her family handled everything so wonderfully, from picking us up at the ferry to arranging for a flight back to Antigua and coordinating the car rental. And the food and drinks at uncle Roddy’s are amazing. The staff is great, super friendly and made us feel like family. I will go back many times. If you’re looking for a lively nightlife, this is not the place. If you want relaxing, quiet, secluded, then this is it. Go now.

Barbuda Cottages should be on everyone’s bucket list. If you want a remote, peaceful vacation where you can truly unwind, this is your place. The cottages are very comfortable, the bed linens so soft, and the location on the beach is magical. Oliver and Kelcina are excellent hosts! Uncle Roddy’s has excellent food and unbeatable service. Highly recommended!!

If you are a world traveler, this is a must for your bucket list. If you just love the Caribbean, turquoise water, white sand beaches where there’s never a crowd,.this is also a must. I chose Barbuda Cottages for my birthday to get away unwind and be surrounded by nature. I could not have picked a better place in the world to come with my best friend and be off the grid and truly relax. I give the family run business 10 stars because they are so accommodating, knowledgeable and friendly !! They were very helpful from the moment I got off the plane in Barbuda to my Adventures including Princess Dianna Beach and the pink Sand Beach beach excursions I love the restaurant Uncle Roddies. The view is amazing. Looks like something out of a movie and they have a great bar in the evening with live jazz music some nights. The only thing I could have asked for was a couple more days but I will be back! Treat yourself. Life is short. If you deserve a reset this is a place for you.

This place was perfect for our family. We stayed 4 nights in the yellow cottage and it fit our family of 6 perfectly. The hosts are extremely responsive and go above and beyond with helpfulness from anything we needed, or advice on places to go on the island. The restaurant is wonderful and a 10 second walk away. Great food options for adults and kids. The beach is very private, decent snorkeling, and they provide kayaks and paddleboard to use. As well as a private cabana area with comfortable beach chairs and shade. It was perfect for adults only, or with kids, as I can't see anyone not loving their stay here. We can't wait to come back!

5 stars is not enough for Barbuda Cottages - it deserves 100 stars! My wife and I recently spent 5 days there, and it was truly paradise and the best experience we've ever had on vacation. Kelcina and her daughter Ally were super friendly, gracious and helpful our whole stay. Anything we needed, they provided and then some! The restaurant on site has an amazing chef and staff... the food was truly incredible every day. The cottage itself was well decorated and furnished, and very comfortable. Don't worry about no air conditioning - you really don't need it... the breeze at night keeps it very comfy. The beach is quiet and gorgeous with private cabanas to relax in, and there are kayaks and paddleboards too. I can't say enough about this place - we will be back!!
