"Few people think of history or architecture when it comes to the Maldives , what with the pristine beaches and luxurious overwater bungalows typically getting all the glory. So it might come as a surprise that Male’s crown jewel is the Islamic Centre’s Grand Friday Mosque, an impressive whitewashed building marked with a sweeping staircase and a gleaming golden dome. This place of worship can host about 5,000 people, though it's worth noting that non-Muslim tourists can only explore the interior outside of prayer times, between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. A dress code is also strictly enforced, with men required to wear long pants and women a long skirt or dress. It’s worth stopping by the nearby Hukuru Miskiy (Friday Mosque), the city’s main place of prayer prior to the construction of the Grand Friday Mosque."

This mosque (and Islamic Centre) is one of the most iconic landmarks in Malé, due to its grand architecture and its visible golden dome. It is the Grand Friday Mosque — important for Friday (Jumu’ah) prayers, and a central place of worship. The mosque is named after Sultan Muhammad Thakurufaanu Al-Auzam, a national hero in the Maldives who liberated the country from Portuguese rule in the 16th century. Many visitors to Malé stop here to see the mosque, not just for prayer but for its architectural beauty. The mosque can accommodate up to ~5,000 people. it's the 2nd largest mosque of male.

Masjid Al-Sultan Muhammad Thakurufaanu Al-Auzam is the largest mosque in Malé City, offering a peaceful prayer space with modern facilities. The architecture is stunning, and the wudu area and restrooms are well-maintained. A significant Islamic center for worship and learning.

Excellently made mosque in 1984. The calligraphy and how this mosque is made is breathtaking despite the mosque being built in the mid 80s. This mosque is likely to accommodate more than 400+ pilgrims and this mosque is also used to host Friday sermons via the help of webcam-like camera systems. Overall, the way the mosque looks is pretty decent and good too. I'll give a rating of 5 out of 5 (Excellent)

Beautifully built grand Mosque at the prime location in Male. The prayer hall is grand too as the name says, "Grand Friday Mosque".
