I went to this restaurant for dinner my first night in Madrid. Upon walking inside, I was very intimidated by the hectic and busy scene. However, a server who noticed me immediately helped me place my order and find a spot to settle down. A major disclaimer that by "settle down", I meant finding an unoccupied surface with a empty space that I could stand next to.
The servers were extremely busy but efficient, and they tried their best to be attentive to their customers. So when my caracoles arrived, they gave me some pointers on how to enjoy them. I've tried snails before, but I really appreciate the Spanish's take on them. They seemed quite fresh based on their texture, and the bread was very much needed to soak up the richness of the delicious sauce. I also ordered patatas bravas, but the portion size of the caracoles was more than enough for a single person (I ordered a small size, mind you), that I had to take it to go. I did had a few bite, they were essentially American home fries but better with some kind of creamy tomato sauce.
I wish I was able to try more of their dishes, but I was very much satisfied with the caracoles which is what they're known for after all. One thing to note that their servers can be a bit too friendly, as I did run into one of them very late at night (think 4 AM) while checking out a 24 hours grocery store who insisted to join me in my shopping when they recognized me. My introvert self got a bit iffy, but someone who's more extroverted might be more willing to entertain it though.
