"Inwood Lounge, Park Cities. Located inside the historic Inwood Theater, this bar & lounge is simply brilliant. It's got a black banquet / neon / deco / water-feature / martini swilling vibe that is authentic and approachable. It's not a reach...at all. Trust me. Go there."

This place breaks my heart because the history is amazing and the location has so much potential, but the experience was genuinely awful from the moment we walked in. The atmosphere feels stuck in the 80s/90s, which could be charming if everything else were at least decent, but it isn’t. What stood out immediately was the management. Two supervisors hovered behind the counters and near the ticket area, openly scolding employees and snapping at customers right in front of everyone. It was uncomfortable, unprofessional, and honestly embarrassing to watch. I’ve never seen leadership behave this way in a business that depends on customer experience. The theater itself was extremely dirty. The same employee who sold us our popcorn was also sprinting into the auditorium right after the movie to clean up after well over a hundred people. It’s obvious they’re severely understaffed and poorly managed. The only real positive is the attached full bar and the option to bring drinks into the movie — but that doesn’t make up for the overall chaos. Also, note: no blankets allowed, which feels odd given how outdated and uncomfortable the seating is. We spent about $150 for this night out, and it simply wasn’t worth it. Allocate that money toward a cleaner, better-managed theater that respects both its staff and its customers. This one needs serious improvement before I’d ever consider returning.

I have literally been coming to this theatre my entire life. It absolutely sickens me, to see the condition that it is in. How has the ownership let it get this bad? Forget the lack of cleanliness; the upstairs theatre I was in, literally has parts of the ceiling peeling off. The wall does not even look like it’s holding up. The smell is just god unbearable. It’s like lingering musky, wet, body odor. I assumed it was people, however, the theatre was barely full. It is something that comes from the AC. There is literally not a bad memory from this place, but until the do some renovations or at least upgrades I will not be returning. I left feeling dirty.

absolutely ruined my 5 year anniversary. saw the photos with the couches and thought that those were the seats i’d have. apparently i was wrong. seats are normal leather cracked seats. movie was zoomed in and weird. got a refund and left 20 mins in. do not go here.

What a disappointment. It was revitalized when they did the sofas and beds 15 years ago. And it might have been the last time they did any maintenance on this facility. The bathrooms stink and are overrun with trash. The seats are cracked and uncomfortable. The cup holders are dirty. Just overall disgusting. The nostalgia is gone. Replaced by duct-taped seats.

Came here to see the 50th Anniversary of Rocky Horror Picture Show with a shadow cast. Small theater, amazing experience. Cast was great, seating was comfortable, volume on sound was great.

It's with profound disappointment and outright fury that I must recount my recent experiences at what was once a cherished childhood haunt. This theater, a place where I forged countless memories over the past 15-20 years, has been utterly corrupted by the presence of its general manager, a truly contemptible individual whose discriminatory behavior is as undeniable as it is disgusting. My brother and I have been targeted twice by this individual, and the pattern of her animosity is starkly clear. The first incident occurred when we attempted to see Oppenheimer. Despite my being his legal guardian and well over 18, and my brother being 16, this manager, with an air of unwarranted suspicion, demanded court documents proving my guardianship. The notion that one needs legal paperwork to attend a movie is not just absurd, it's a transparently hostile hurdle erected solely to deny us entry. Our most recent encounter, while attempting to watch Superman, only solidified our conviction that this manager harbors a deep-seated prejudice. Her tone was instantly and exceptionally disrespectful, bordering on outright contempt. While I understand and respect a no-blanket policy, her delivery was scolding and demeaning, treating me, a fully grown adult, like a misbehaving child for an honest oversight. This wasn't a misunderstanding; it was a deliberate act of belittlement, designed to make us feel unwelcome and inferior. It's clear that this general manager views certain patrons through a lens of bigotry and disdain, making snap judgments and enforcing policies with an aggressive, selective rigor that is utterly unprofessional. Her presence is a cancer on this establishment, eroding its integrity and driving away loyal customers. That this theater allows such a venomous and prejudiced individual to remain in a position of power is not just baffling, it's a profound betrayal of the community it purports to serve. My childhood memories of this place are now irrevocably tainted by the bitter taste of her unadulterated malice.

Found this theater while in town. I was disappointed that we were not able to see TRHPS. We did sit in theater 1 for our movie. We loved the seating! The snack bar had very little to choose from and was overpriced.

DO NOT GO! Disappointed to say the least. This place is spooky and dirtier than a gas station. The floors are stinky with mold. The bathroom is worse than a gas station. The seats are older than my parents extremely dirty and nasty. The roof is cracking. And the old lady at the front I think she’s the owner is rude as hell and with mean the second we walked in. THIS PLACE SHOULD BE PUT OUT OF BUSINESS!

Yelp
I've been to the bar/lounge here once a few years ago but this was my first time seeing a movie here. Can't weigh in on the concessions or the bathrooms so this'll just be about the movie experience. My friend and I were the only ones here for the movie. The seats are comfy but you can tell they're a little old and worn (upstairs theater). They don't recline but they do rock a little? When the movie started, the lights along the walls weren't turned off so watching a scary/vampire flick with the lights on wasn't the best. I came here because it was close to me & had the most convenient show time after having to reschedule from another theater a couple of days before. If I had a choice, I might pick a different theater next time (but the bar is cool). Just nothing special here. Meh.

Yelp
Theater is a shadow of its former self. Showed up at 25 after show time and they refused to sell me a ticket for a Thursday afternoon matinee. Not exactly a busy time and I'm sure the theater only had a handful of people in it. Their loss for turning me away and losing a $25-$30 sale.

Yelp
This theatre was really vintage and cool. The pictures on their website show couches and bean bags and I was really looking forward to watching the movie in them but sadly it's not in all the theater rooms just the one downstairs i guess so don't be fooled by their web pics. The regular rooms had regular chairs, no reclining or anything. Overall the theatre was nice and me and my friends had a good time taking pictures in front of it and inside but if you're going solely for the couches, double check you're going to be in that theatre room. The price was 8.50 for matinee.
