"Commune with the Sun There has been an explosion of beach clubs in Bali recently, and Komune was one of the first. About 15 minutes east of Sanur, it's in a spot that was only known to surfers until it arrived, attracting families, people from Ubud in need of some coastal breezes, and people passing on their way to or from further out on the east coast. They do have bungalows to stay in which are really nice, but Komune's biggest selling point is that it's a great place to pass a Sunday, with the massive mattresses, nice big pool, restaurant with tasty food and drinks, and a stunning view out to sea. The beach is black sand so it can be a bit hot but it's stunning. They also do evening surf and DJ sessions that are super laid-back and friendly."

Stunning location and resort, super friendly staff, you are always greeted with a smile. I recommend coming here if you are looking for a truly relaxing break, far away from the busy tourist areas. We stayed here for 3 nights and just ate at the beach club/health club, we didn't leave 😆 well priced, a good variety of dishes and cocktails, etc. Our room was very nice but simple, clean and so peaceful. Staying here was the most relaxed I have been in years. Spa/massage prices were a little more on the expensive side, but everything else was reasonable, thank you so much Komune family!

Amazing stay at Hotel Komune! Perfect first-line oceanfront location with a breathtaking view. There are two big pools, including a pool with an ocean view, and the territory is lush and green. The black sand beach is stunning — it literally shines in the sun! And the best part: surfing right at the doorstep — you walk out of the hotel and you’re in the waves. Such a special place, we’d love to come back!

The hotel was beautifully kept and manicured. The staff were extreemly polite, helpful and were welcoming, immediately making us feel comfortable and at home. The rooms were lovely and kept in the original Gold Coast, Australia Komune colour theme which brought on a lovely sensation of nostalgia for my wife as she once frequented the original growing up with her footy team. It is a perfect place for families, couples looking to just relaxing without having to venture too far with almost perfect sets rolling in consecutively throughout the day. We were here in the wet season though and i dont know if it would be the same in the dry as the surf tends shift to the west coast. I think resonably priced food and drink for the establishment. Not as cheap as outside the walls but i feel that is to be expected. With daily yoga, and fitness classes, along with a private spa for massages and treatments, offering both comfort and convienience. We had a massage and it was the most relaxing one we experienced on our trip to date. We had been roughing it a bit before we got here so it was nice to have a change and treat ourselves a little. They were extreemly understanding and accomadating when my wife fell ill on our check out day, providing complimentary food, juice and water to help her get back to good health. They extended our check out time and also offered a doctors service to our room. The empathy and concern was very heartfelt and genuine. All in all a beautiful place to stay and would recommend to any to try at least once.

The whole property feels tropical and calming, with a lush green area that makes you feel relaxed the moment you arrive.|There are two large pools, and one of them has a stunning ocean view, which was one of our favorite spots to unwind. The black sand beach is something special — it’s so unique and even sparkles in the sun.|And if you love surfing, this place is a dream: surfing is literally right outside the hotel — you step out and you’re in the waves.|Great atmosphere, beautiful setting, and an unforgettable experience. I recently stayed at the Komune Resort Beach Club at Keramas Beach, and it was truly an unforgettable experience for me and my family. We absolutely loved our time there—my kids had the best time, and it felt like the perfect place for all of us to unwind together. The accommodation was beautiful, serene, and perfectly positioned away from the busyness of everyday life. Our beachfront room was a dream. I loved relaxing by the beach each day, watching my husband surf right in front of us—it felt like our own little slice of paradise. Mornings were extra special with yoga sessions that grounded and energised me. The focus on wellness throughout the resort made everything feel intentional and nourishing. The food was also incredible so fresh, flavourful, and beautifully prepared. Every meal felt like such a treat. My daughter had a wonderful time at the hair salon too, especially getting her braid done by the lovely and friendly Deda—such a sweet touch that made her feel so happy. Surrounded by nature, peace, and genuine warmth from the staff, it was exactly the rejuvenating escape we were longing for. We left feeling refreshed, reconnected, and already planning our return. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a meaningful, family-friendly getaway in Bali. Every money spent here is so worth it. NOTE: This review is for the restaurant only! The food, environment and location is 5 star, no doubts!!! Wonderful vegetarian options!!! One of the best restaurants we have been in Bali. But I give 1 ⭐ because the loud club music is killing you there. Such a nice place to sit in front of the ocean, enjoy your meal and simply watch and listen to the waves. But the loud club music ruins all this. We stayed for 5 days in a nearby villa. We would have eaten everyday at this restaurant. Almost everyday we passed by, wanting to have a nice lunch or dinner, but the loud music made us turn around and go elsewhere. Once again, great restaurant. Horrible music noise.... UPDATE: We went there the second day. The music was much slower. Grateful for that!!🙏 We had a wonderful lunch watching the waves. We ate plant lasagna and plant pizza. Amazing taste!! I think the best vegan food we had in Bali. And we've been to many vegan restaurants in Ubud. Thank you 🙏 Raising the review to 4 ⭐

We spent a couple of nights at Komune Resort & Beach Club to celebrate our anniversary and surf Keramas Beach, and it was absolutely perfect. The location is unbeatable, right in front of the wave, with an infinity pool facing the lineup — truly unique. The staff were exceptional, so kind and attentive, making us feel really special. Great food and excellent service too. Highly recommended for surfers and for celebrating special moments 🤍🌊 Especial thanks to the staff Janji who make our stay more memorable and special ❤️

We stayed a week at Kommune in January. While it was quite wet off and on, we loved the resort. It’s calm and relaxing the gardens are beautiful and the staff are incredible. Amazingly well staffed and managed. Every meal was excellent and we felt very welcome with 2 kids under 5. Surfing Keramas was directly in front of the pool. Prices were good value for amazing quality. Loved it and would recommend.
