"Coffee and Meals Near the Ruins It's a good idea to get an early start for a visit to the Monte Alban archaeological site. It's best to get there before the crowds and before the sun is high in the sky. If you don't have time for a coffee before you get there, you can grab a cup at the on-site restaurant. Choose a spot either inside or out on the patio with a lovely view, and enjoy their good, strong coffee. They also serve fresh fruit juices and have a good selection of breakfasts and other food items on the menu."

We did not eat here but I had a cappuccino and my wife had the hot chocolate that was very good. The service was fine. People need to understand that this is a tourist attraction and that we can expect the prices to be tourist prices. They are a little high for some things and a lot higher for others. Very nice place to relax after the hot explorations of the ruins. They do not rush you which is nice. There is a little shop outside that sells chips and soft drinks etc.

Very mixed feelings. The food was delicious and nicely presented. Good selection of espresso-based coffees. A bit pricey- but not crazy, worth the cost. Nice view from the terrace over the surrounding area. However, at the end, the staff tried to charge an extra service fee that I had not been informed about and which wasn’t on the menu. When I refused, the staff became very rude- they started arguing and ultimately refused to give me a receipt I needed. For that reason- I will not return.

A nice restaurant in the Monte Alban museum building. It's a great place to have a drink or meal after exploring the site. We had some very good mole negro tamales this visit.

Expensive and below average quality for Mexico! The club sandwich for the kids was ok. The view is ok not better from the ruins. We ask if we can charge our camera and the lady in the cashier ask if we order something before letting my camera charge. Is offensive! I did not charge my camera and obviously did not enjoy my stay.

It's hard to beat the outdoor seating--beautiful view, nice drinks and a relaxing setting. We sat and enjoyed the afternoon after exploring the ruins. Many butterflies and hummingbirds were also there enjoying their lunch!
