Spikes are highly recommended but its well packed snow right now. Lots of people doinf back countey skiing and snowboarding here, some people are sledding off the hills, its busy and popular. The most beautiful view though!

Beautiful place to hike. The trail into the ghost town is around 30 mins with a slight uphill. Really recommend getting all the way into the foot of the mountain for some STUNNIG views.

This trail is wooded but follows along a stream and open meadow. At the end, you enter into an outstanding alpine meadow bursting with wild flowers and old mining cabins. Our 4 kids, 13-7years, easily hiked this and enjoyed playing in the meadow stream.

Lovely hike even in the wintertime. Everything seems much quieter, the trail was nicely packed in early March so no need for any traction devices although I have seen many people with snowshoes and skiis. Once you get to the abandoned houses, the area opens up and you’re surrounded by beautiful mountain peaks.

My family did this trail in mid-July. The weather was great the views were stunning. We spent about 3 hrs here and were exhausted when we got back. Well worth it!

Best hike in a long time! This area is beautiful! Do yourself a favor and do the entire trail if you can. We saw many marmots and a large fox running around the end of the trail. Parking fills up quickly, so go early or after 1:00 PM.

Easy hike with some old buildings up to the main ghost town, which has one full intact building and one with no roof. Keep following the trail till you get to the slough for the mine. You can also go up a different way to get some nice views over the valley. Bring oxygen cans and food with sugar for the altitude if you're not used to heights. Some other offshoot trails can be taken.

Pro Tip:
Bring bug spray! Mosquitoes were biting me like I stole something!
This is a short and relatively easy hike for most. The views at the top were really quite amazing. Just a heads up, this part of the state is quite cooler even in the summer months, so bring a jacket in case.
