Yukon Wildlife Preserve

The self-guided experience was awe-inspiring. I bet the guided tour must be awesome too. The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable. Red foxes kept sneaking around and showed up unexpectedly. They are so adorable. We saw the lynx board, but didn’t expect to see them. Were pleasantly surprised 😁 Could probably go for round two immediately. Will definitely visit again!

This place was fantastic! Our guide Kaitlyn made this tour a fun and educational one. She was humorous and informative, sharing with us about all the facts that we did not know. The animals such as the lynxes and the fox living there were all rescued and have grown into stronger selves. Another entertaining part was the ground squirrels (see photo). They were so cute and never failed to make us laugh! This has been a memorable experience and I will definitely come back!

Had such a great time and would go back again! We booked a bus tour, and so glad we did. The walk around the entire preserve might have taken a bit too long, but they do have bike rentals as an option. But we were glad we did the guided tour so we could learn more and ask questions. Piper was a fantastic guide and we were able to see pretty much all the animals in the preserve. Highly recommend checking this place out!

Excellent staff. Very friendly and helpful. We walked around as we like to hike and prefer that to the tour bus or bike. Animals were great but the moose were elusive which is normal apparently. I've been coming to Canada for 10 years now and never seen one. Maybe they are either very shy or are hiding from hunters?

5km walk. One slight hill along the way. An option to rent fat bikes which I would try next time. The animal enclosures are large so you may or may not see all the animals as a preserve isn’t like a zoo. But thrilled to see some Yukon wildlife up close.

Tour guide was a ton of fun and very knowledgeable. Kept it fun for the kids and moved at a good pace. It was really fun to learn about all of thr animals and see most of them. Thanks for having us!

Our guide was excellent. The minibus was comfortable and we saw all the species in the reserve, including the lynx and that even the guide hadn’t seen in a few weeks!

I took my Dad who was visiting from BC to the Yukon Wildlife Preserve and did a private bus tour with a Lynx feeding. Brit was our tour guide and she was amazing! She was so knowledgeable, patient with all of our questions, professional, and very accommodating to my Dad's decreased mobility. She was also super personable and friendly. The Lynx feeding was an unreal experience, and we loved learning about the history of the preserve. I highly recommend booking the private bus tour (with Brit specifically!) if you want a more intimate wildlife experience.

When traveling on vacation, we always make it a point to check out museums and/or historical landmarks and when we found out how close we were to the Yukon Wildlife Preserve - we added it on our list and it didn't disappoint!! This tour caters to those who would like a guided tour and for those like us, who would prefer to walk, discover all the "nuggets" by ourselves each for a nominal fee. This average 5km trail is setup in a figure 8 pattern. Each animal site (only naming a few Bison, Mule deer, Moose, Lynx and even surprised at seeing, not 1 but two bald eagles) contains an information board that provides a great summary about the animal you are viewing - and while walking from site to site, the breathtaking views of the surrounding made this tour a memorable tour. Make sure to stop in to the gift shop as all proceeds from the store and ticket sales are used to support Yukon Wildlife Preserve (and they also take donations too)! We highly recommend you visit!! This is a must see !!

We paid for the general admission and walked the preserve. It's worth it that way you can take your time looking at the animals while getting your steps in at your pace!

Extraordinary. Leave enough time cuz lots to read and even more to know. They do a great job treating things fairly and accurately.

This is one of my favorite places in the Yukon. No this is not a zoo but of you want to see wildlife this is the place to go. Located on 700 acres of beautiful natural habitat for the animals here. You will see caribou, mountain goats, lynx, arctic fox, bison and so much more. The property also gives you a good place to see beautiful birds and tons of ground squirrels. They have bus tours or you can walk or bike the 5km trails. The staff is very knowledgeable and helpful. Don't miss visiting if you are in the Yukon.

I had an amazing private group tour with Lindsey at this wonderful animal preserve. The mandate of the staff is to rehabilitate and release as many animals as they can. Those that cannot be released are well tended in as naturalistic an environment as possible. We saw owls, thin horned sheep, arctic foxes, eagles and many other animals on our tour. Our private tour allowed us access to some behind the scenes places that the usual tour does not cover and allowed us lots of questions and time to take pictures. It was well worth the extra money to not be part of a larger group. Just make sure you book ahead!

This place is very cool! Kinda outta the way, but worth a visit. You will see uniquely northern animals like caribou, moose, arctic fox, and bison. The bus tour is well worth the added price. Though the driver/guide was hard to hear and lacked knowledge (she was from Montreal). The place is also nearby the Takhini Hot Spring. Another worthwhile stop. Both are 25mins from downtown Whitehorse. Its $50 for a family of 4 to ride the bus.

Excellent park. Walk vs ride so you can better the animals. Took us just under three hours to walk. Bring your lunch. Tables along the walk
