"No visit to Ambergris Caye is complete without an afternoon at the Palapa Bar. Situated at the end of a dock surrounded by turquoise waters and cool breezes, Palapa Barattracts a mix of locals, travelers, and some of the coolest bartenders on the island. On a warm day, eschew the barstools and opt instead to floatin inner tubesbesidethe dock; you can even have cold buckets of Belize ’s Belikin beers lowered down to you. In addition to beer and standard cocktails, funcreations like Scotty’s Palapa Punch (three different types of rum, triple sec, mango, pineapple, and a squeeze of lime) offer some island-inspired refreshment. Upinthe palapa , recommended items fromthe menu include sausage dip, pulled pork sandwiches, andthe immense half-pound burger.Palapa Bar is 1.5 miles north of town and easily reached by golf cart, taxi, bicycle, or water taxi, which drops you right off at the dock."

This was our first stop upon arrival, we had seen several reviews about how fabulous it was, so we had to see for ourselves. It was good, it wasn't great. The service was good. The food was good, the atmosphere was great. They had live music and of course the view. The view was indeed fabulous. We had nachos, again they were good but nothing special. The drinks were generous and overall we enjoyed it but we have been several places since that we enjoyed more...Charmaine's and Wayo's to drop a couple of names ;)

This is a super cool location with a great vibe! The food and drinks are very tasty, and everything is reasonably priced. The service was good, and everyone was very friendly and attentive! As you walk in, you are greeted by a thatched-roof building with sea birds flying around waiting for their catch of the day. The back side of the pier has outdoor seating, lounge chairs, and even inner tubes in which you can float and have your cocktails!

Fun place to grab a drink and an appetizer. Sit in a chair on the dock and watch the sunset! Live music and you can put your feet in the water!

Pub food . Service was excellent! Fun! Laid back, slow experience— as per expectations for culture. Expect daily live music.
Was here for NYE. Met loads of friendly people and were taken care of by staff.

This place brings the vibes. On new years we saw the fireworks. Did a party dance train with other Travellers and bangers were being played by the DJ the whole time. Pina coladas slapped. So did the steak tacos. Mad good!

As good as it gets!! Great Food & Service—pricing was reasonable — beauty location— check out the artisans work on the boardwalk— very nice stuff!

I only rated food a 3 because I personally didn't try it. From what I saw from couples to large parties they loved it. The staff was amazing and gave me some great recommendations for things to do around town. Live music was good and the location over the water was the coolest place to hangout on hot days

This bar was across from our stay. Went early. Great view. Some of the best ceviche.
