Salvatore's Pizzaiolo Trattoria

This was one of the tastiest sandwiches I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. The staff accommodated my request to serve half a meatball hero and box the second serving. Half of the sandwich was more than enough for a quick lunch. The service is great, the restaurant is interesting, and the food is awesome.

Ordered a large Pizza Alla Grec for take out, it was Friday night around 6 pm. They were busy, a full house. One of the staff was pleasant and followed up with me asking if I was still waiting for my order, 40 min after I had ordered it. The pizza was awful. Seriously one of the worst pies I've had. Dried basil 🤮 Really? They can't get a few fresh bunches of Basil? The Feta was almost not even present on the pie. Got the Za with 2 beers total was $51. Not worth your money folks. Maybe another time of day would be better for wait time, but overall very disappointed. Probably won't return.

Man, I feel so late to the party, but I'm so glad I finally came here. This truly might be the most New York feeling restaurant we have in Halifax. I absolutely adored the small, tightly packed seating, cool friendly service, and just how authentic it felt. I love how the extended community just packs in here on a Friday night and you get that buzz of chatter the whole time. I loved the packed sidewalk seating, and the way that the warm indoors looked from the outside windows, man, it would make you wanna pop in even if you had somewhere to be just to live life man The pizzas were absolutely excellent as well, and they even had my fav mints, as if they needed to try and make me like this place more. To be honest, even though the food was great, I'd rly come back for the cozy ny dine-in feeling, I'm just happy to now know that we have an instance of that here in our humble city.

This is hands down the best pizza you can find in Halifax. Hot, crispy, and delicious, always leaves you wanting more. The lounge is a little loud, but still worth it to get the pizza straight out of the oven.

I went to the place after reading an article that mentioned it had received an award. However, I didn’t like the pizza I ordered—the waiter had recommended it as the “Best Buy.” It was a mushroom pizza, and I usually like mushrooms on pizza a lot, but this one had an unusually large amount of them, and they were too bitter for my taste.

Really good pizza but also nothing mind-blowing. Solid option for the area, and it does taste more authentic than other thin crust pizzas.

I honestly don’t understand why this place is so highly rated. I’ve been here 2–3 times, and each visit just confirmed how overrated it is. Their Quattro Formaggio pizza was especially disappointing - despite being a 4 cheese pizza, all you can taste is ricotta. You can’t notice any of the other cheeses at all. Definitely something to avoid. The other pizzas were also just average at best. There are much better pizza spots in the city, so there’s really no reason to come here. Overall, it doesn’t live up to the hype and isn’t worth the price.

Spoke to a local on the street and he recommended Salvatore’s for the heroes. Funny he said he’s never tried the pizza. The place was busy with only 2-3 tables open and lots of take-out orders. We ordered the Meatball hero and the medium sun-dried tomato and artichoke pizza. Both tasted delicious. The hero was the best meatball sub I’ve ever had. Moist and perfectly seasoned meatballs. The service was friendly and efficient. The price was quite reasonable for what you received. I am already planning my next visit. I really like the vibe of the restaurant and the neighborhood.
