Bouillon L'Entrecôte

We had heard great things about this place and it absolutely lived up to the hype. We went for dinner and ordered the Saint Jacques scallops on pastry, escargots, charcoal grilled sirloin, and the Tournedos Rossini tenderloin. Everything was cooked beautifully. The onion jam that came with the Saint Jacques was a standout and paired really well with the rest of the dish. As for the famous secret sauce, we can totally see why it is so well known and kept a secret. What really elevated the experience was the service. The staff were incredibly attentive and friendly. We were seated near the hallway in an extended area that had just opened the day before, so there was quite a bit of foot traffic and staff occasionally bumped into the chair, my friend’s arm, or the table. My friend was not too bothered by it, but at the end of the meal we were pleasantly surprised with two complimentary desserts as an apology. We were genuinely touched by the gesture and the desserts were excellent. Honestly, good enough that we would come back just for dessert alone.

This was our second visit to Bouillon L'Entrecôte, and it remains our go-to spot for an authentic French experience. If you miss the bistros of Paris, this place will take you right back. It's like you had a fantastic "return to Paris" without the jet lag! ​ Every dish we ordered was spot on. ​The Escargots, Charcuterie Plate, and Tartare au Couteau were fresh and flavorful. ​ We highly recommend the Charcoal Grilled Dry Aged (60 days+) Striploin on the Bone. The char was incredible, and the French fries are so good you literally cannot stop eating them! ​The Magret au Miel (Honey Duck Breast) was cooked perfectly—tender and juicy, never overcooked—and the side potatoes were delicious. ​ The atmosphere is quintessentially French. The entire service staff is French, which adds a wonderful layer of authenticity. They are friendly, professional, and very attentive throughout the meal. ​ A must-visit for anyone who loves French cuisine. We’ll definitely be back again!

Great authentic french food. The duck confit is definitely our favorite. It’s juicy and has a crunch. The potato puree is perfect. Definitely recommend adding his dish!! The Today, Our Charcoal Grilled Dry Aged 60 days+Striploin on the Bone is superb. Simply delicious and you will want to come back for more:) the apple dessert was a beautiful taste in our mouth. I mean you can describe it as beautiful firework of wonder. The French onion soup was okay. The tartar was a wonderful dish that is good size. The sandwich was good but order medium for the meat temperature. Definitely great place and expensive. The caviar is just right and served with toasted bread.

A true gem for lovers of French cuisine. From the moment you step inside, the atmosphere is refined yet welcoming, setting the tone for a memorable dining experience. Every detail reflects care and craftsmanship, from the beautifully presented dishes to the attentive, polished service. The flavours are balanced and thoughtful, showcasing classic French techniques with a modern touch. It’s the kind of place you return to time and again, confident that quality, consistency, and attention to detail will always be delivered. Highly recommended for anyone seeking authentic French dining done exceptionally well.

A good evening spent down at this little restaurant. Gradually trying out all the French restaurants in Sydney. :) Not a great start with a very loudly laughing patron at another table.. ...but not too much to be done there. Impressive and very French menu. Our eyes drawn instantly to the foie gras pôelé. One starter chosen. I noticed the prawn vol au vent and that was the second in the bag. Mains were both the dry aged striploin. The starters arrived pretty quickly. Both were fantastic. The prawn vol au vent surrounded by a rich bisque was outstanding. The foie gras was beautifully seared and resting on top of a well toasted brioche alongside it's accompaniments. Unctuous doesn't quite describe this. The combination of the incredients and the mouth-feel was just sensational. Starters done, it was on to the mains. Not too much to describe here. Very well cooked, good quality steak alongside some equally well cooked, well seasoned frites. Simple. Executed perfectly. We soldiered on and decided to try some desserts. Some of the largest profiteroles I've had (and Ive had a few in my time) and a Baba au Gueridon. Both were excellent. The profiteroles were light, the pastry just right, the vanilla ice cream tasty and the chocolate sauce rich and luxurious. The baba was light and the rum syrup sweet and alcoholic enough to bring a big smile to my face. The only downside to the whole thing was that the tables for two feel cramped rather than intimate. Definitely somewhere to come back to.. ...there are still so many starters to try!

Our second visit to Bouillon L’Entrecôte somehow managed to surpass the first—an impressive feat in itself. From the moment we arrived, everything felt effortlessly exceptional. The atmosphere is flawless—buzzy yet intimate, refined without ever feeling stiff—and contributes beautifully to the overall experience. A particularly special touch was being seated at the very same table as our first visit—something we didn’t request, but a wonderful and unexpected surprise that made the evening feel personal and memorable. Most importantly, the food is outstanding. This is some of the best French cooking we’ve experienced, and that’s saying a lot after extensive travel throughout France. Confident, classic, and deeply satisfying, every dish reminds you why French cuisine is so revered. Bouillon L’Entrecôte is the kind of place that doesn’t just meet expectations—it quietly exceeds them, again and again. A rare gem, and one we’ll return to without hesitation.

Visited this place based on good recommendations for lunch! Top notch table service - my server was very thorough in explaining all the options in the menu and giving her honest opinion on what was best for me and the time of the day as well as the perfect wine pairing. Was spoilt for choice but settled with the charcoal-grilled sirloin steak with garlic bread on the side. Their signature “secret sauce” is extremely addictive. Nice touch of the steak served over open flame on table to keep it warm taking as much time savouring every bite. A very generous serving of chips and veges on the side to complement. Massive range of full-bodied French wines to complement the meals! But be sure to ask for their recommendation on the best food-wine pairings! Great, intimate setting too! Lots interesting trinkets on display!

Great experience and service, food was delicious. Would get the grilled sirloin over the aged strip loin. The sirloin was a bit more fatty and the candle underneath kept the food nice and warm. And the sauce - wow. Also escargots were nice, the baguettes delicious and the butter that accompanied it was on point. The French cider was delicious and the crème brûlée had a lovely balance of everything. Not too sweet.
