Incredibly moving experience and a beautiful location. The ground can be quite muddy if you visit during or after rain. On a clear day, you get good views of PDC.

I visited this incredible memorial during mid-November on a class trip. This memorial particularly stood out to me as for the number of names engraved in the steel. My friends and I were looking amongst the almost 600,000 names for anyone who may be related to us/whose surname we may recognise. This memorial is an incredible tribute to everyone who fought in the war. It does not separate people based on race, gender or race that they are from. It is only a few minutes' walking distance from the Notre Dame de Lorette, a cemetery worth visiting. I would definitely recommend visiting this memorial if you are around the area and appreciate the efforts made by the soldiers in the war to achieve peace.

This is an amazing memorial with huge plaques with thousands of names inscribed in alphabetical order. See if your family name is on there. The cemetery across the road is also well worth a visit as is the chapel its so ornate. Take the time to wonder around.

Beautiful… Very touching to find my family names on the walls of the Monument… May these soldiers REST IN PIECE!

This is a beautiful and moving memorial by the French to those who have given their lives. No nation, no race, just 500,000 names.

Well worth the visit, right on top of the hill, so great views. Over half a million names. Very thought provoking.

Very moving. The volunteer attendants ate friendly and helpful. The little private museum alongside is a must see, excellent portrayals of life in Trenches and dont miss the outside re-creations either. Such a worthwhile visit overall. Though not easy if you don't have private transport but possible (as I didn't)

This wasn't originally on our itinerary of Canadian war sites as it isn't specifically Canadian but wow, I'm so thankful our tour guide brought us there! It is very striking to see the thousands upon thousands of names and it is in a gorgeous area. Our students looked for their own surnames and most were able to find matches. Would highly recommend a stop here if you're travelling anywhere close by.
