Absolutely worth going to of you like caves, water, and snorkeling. Arriving to the entrance, there was a man who explains that you can book either a private tour or join the public tour that starts within certain time periods. We so happen to arrive 10 minutes before another group of three were about to depart. While you can book a private tour, its much cheaper to tag along with a group. The price was 35 bucks per person, and it was reasonable for what you get. We were given mask and snorkel gear. They have options for you to wear wetsuits, but I personally liked being in the 68 degree water the entire time. Life jackets are required, and it makes sense when you see how deep the chasm of this cenote goes.
I thought it would be just a hangout but it's a full on swimming adventure. It wasn't intense at all, but if youre not at all active or mobile in your daily life, then I can see this tour being somewhat of a challenge. You are sometimes inches away the stalactites as you cross certain pathways. The whole time, I could only hear the Aquatic Ambience song from Donkey Kong Country, as it fit so well with what I saw. The guide does a good job of offering photo opportunities, as well as taking fairly good photos. While we were NOT on the private tour, our guide was nice enough to show us the "extra special" section since we had finished out tour a little bit earlier than expected.
While I did not go to Dos Ojos, Sac Atun is highly recommended. I find it hard to complain when Sac Atun was easily one of my biggest highlights from my trip.
