I’m truly not a negative Nancy, but I ordered the catfish dinner and shrimp dinner. The fish, shrimp and fries were cooked way too much that when I cut into the catfish there was no meat left. Over fried fish and shrimp very hard. Green beans and tater sauce were really good. I will continue to eat here for the BBQ.

Got the sample plate. Loved the okra. The rest was pretty sauced up and only one style of sauce, which I didn't love. They were out of the cobbler I wanted to try. Would return if local.

wholesome BBQ restaurant on main Street in Farmington, it has warm family lives and meals to pack your stomach. I got the two meat platter which includes the ribs and the pulled pork along with the mac and cheese and coleslaw, with the lemonade. ribs were the most saucy and juicy of them. all, the pulled pork needed some more sauce, and the coleslaw reminded me what coleslaw she really tastes like, and the cornbread and Mac were standard. otherwise! with good vibes

Food quality has gone down. $22 buck for 3 tiny 2” ribs, frozen corn on the cob, rubbery corn bread, and 9 slices of sausage. SMH. The grandparents would’ve NEVER allowed food quality to drop to this level.

My husband and I had lunch today and got the catfish and the 3 meat combo. Catfish was really good and coleslaw and hush puppies were very yummy as well! Husband liked the ribs a lot. Owner was very nice and welcoming.

As I was going through something things tonight I saw a card I forgot to take due to life becoming chaos. On October 18th of this year, I married the love of my life. Spare Rib has always been a favorite of ours & when I called them about doing a very small reception after my wedding they were phenomenal. They not only kept checking in prior but held the cake in their fridge the night before. They have always been exceptional from the staff to the food but my wedding day was even more so amazing. The staff was so diligent, polite (the best service in town), & the food was 100% on point. I am so sorry I forgot the letter & let life get away from me but I want you to know that we will never forget how special you made it for us. We highly recommend you & wish their was more than 5 stars to give!

Overall, I'd give this place four stars. The staff was super friendly, and they were generous with their portions. The beef brisket was OK but a little dry. But I also got the sampler plate, and that was a good choice.

We came here because the reviews were pretty good and the pictures looked appetizing. That was misleading. I ordered the chopped chicken, it was rather dry but had a smokey flavor. The coleslaw was slimy, fried okra was undercooked and lacked flavor, and the Mac & Cheese takes like velveeta shells and cheese. 🤢 My husband had brisket which was pretty good, but he didn't like the bbq sauce either. He took one bite of the Mac & Cheese and left it. Roll was hard and dry. He said his potato salad was good. Daughter had fried catfish, Mac, fries and the hush puppy. She loves Mac but didn't even eat that slop. Fries were cold and a bit undercooked, she took a bite of her catfish and almost gagged. I don't know how this place has such good reviews, apparently people don't know what good BBQ is. But we all had diarrhea after eating here. After the owners responded below, I feel they should know if they quality of their food is good or not without having to be told. If you're OK with serving subpar food to people and only fix it with a complaint, you shouldn't be in business.

Well I don't know where to start. I was in town and came roght as they were closing. They insisted I came in. So I did. Carrie at the counter was amazing! So nice and talking to all the locals and people In there. Gives you Texas BBQ vibes the second you walk in. Very nice inside old school bbq joint feel. The smell.of hickory smacks you the second you walk in. I got the sampler with two sides. Corn bread 8.1/10. A little dry but warm and delicious. Pulled pork 8.8/10. Nice pull and pretty good flavor. Chicken 10/10. I'm the first to hate smoked birds. Usually they are over smoked this was PERFECT. sausage 10/10. Ham 10/10 moist and delicious. Mac n cheese 8.4/10. Would have loved it to be smoked lightly but creamy and great. Cole slaw 10/10. Little bite of vinegar and just creamy perfection. Ribs. 10/10. Pulled right off the bone and I'm very picky woth ribs. Now that BBQ sauce. Needs to be bottled and sold nationwide. It is the best sauce I've ever had. 12/10. Peach cobbler brought me roght back to my Nana. 10/10 all around if you're in the area you better stop in. Its great!

This place is a hidden Gem, if you like good country style BBQ, this is your place! I usually come up to Farmington 3-4 times a a month, I always pass this place but today decided to stop. The ribs are tender and flavorful, sausage made with a little kick to them. Believe me you won't be disappointed, oh and the staff are on fire and you can tell they love working here! Trust me, give it a try!

Friendly people but the chicken was dry, didn't look good and it really doesn't taste good plus it was served cold. Brisket could be better. It was dry and no flavor. Ribs could be better but that's all we could eat. Just order the bake potato and leave. Do yourself a favor.

One of my all-time favorite Farmington spots, I rarely get the opportunity to visit when I'm in the area, but I'm really glad I got to recently. I really don't think you can go wrong with anything here but might go to is always the peachaid, one of the sandwich deals, and of course cobbler with ice cream. Turkey sandwich is a longtime favor of mine, but they were out yesterday so I got the chicken ranch, which is also fabulous. This family run spot is always somewhere that just feels very welcoming. I was delighted to run into the owner Carrie, who is just the sweetest. The cobblers absolutely amazing, my favorite is the blackberry, but you really can't go wrong. I don't miss a lot about living in Farmington, but this is definitely one of the spots that I really do wish I got to enjoy more often.

Very clean and great bbq but the service stole the show the owner was awesome and so welcoming, felt like a true family meal! We had a number of things from the menu pulled pork, sausage, brisket all the sides and the peach cobbler! A must try if you're in Farmington!

Friendly place the people were nice. It was clean but Unfortunately, the food wasn't so great. Macaroni and cheese look like Velveeta out of a can but not as much flavor, potato salad they said it was homemade it taste like Reeses the tubs people buy at the store It was probably one of the lower end ones I've ever had not go at all, cornbread was dry, brisket was dry and not much flavor. Wish they would've baby back ribs as those are much better than spareribs that they have. I don't know who does spareribs just a lot of fat not very good. They smother everything in barbecue sauce. I guess that's why it doesn't really matter so much with the no flavor and is dry along with not much of a bark. So, so is saying all this we won't be back.

The food is hands down some of the best bbq you will eat. The catfish is a great choice if you want something different. The cobblers are amazing. The friendly service and smiling faces make you want to eat there all the time. The decorations of all the chickens make it a down home meal to be enjoyed.

Best Texas style in town. Plus you can get a smoked turkey or ham for the holidays. Make sure you try the pulled pork and the sausage.

Not too shabby is this bbq. We stumbled upon this little gem in Farmington. Food is very good and service is with a smile. Not so crazy about the cobbler but I don't need the extra calories

Great home atmosphere. Lots of room for big parties. The food comes out very quickly. The staff is very friendly. I had the sampler platter. Comes with ribs pulled pork ham sausages and turkey two sides I got were macaroni and cheese and coleslaw. Pulled pork, ham and Turkey are okay. The rib has very little flavor but is cook well. Everything is covered in tangy barbecue sauce. The Macaroni and cheese is pretty good. The call slaw as much like kfc.

We needed some quick tasty bbq and the food truck we planned to visit was closed. Turns out this was good luck because we found Spare Rib! The ribs are generous and tasty. The catfish sandwich was crunchy and delicious. The only negative was the blackberry cobbler which tasted a little burnt. But the service was warm and friendly. Would totally go again next time we're in Farmington.

This place has the best BBQ I have ever had. The sausage, brisket and ribs are incredible! We have ordered a large family pack twice this week!

I picked the wrong place for brisket. If you want a roasted meat, it was good. If you delicious smoky brisket with flavor that satisfies, this is NOT the place.

We visited this place 2/18/23...what the hell happened to Quality??? Seriously this use to be an AMAZING place to come and enjoy BBQ but today the pulled pork/Sausage plate was NOT good!!! Pulled pork was fatty and the portion was on the small side!! The only thing that was truly great was the coleslaw and corn muffin! My chicken sandwich was okay but for the amount of money it cost it was not good! From here in out its Texas BBQ in Durango.. oh and top it all off today's lady cashier was a Bitch!!!

From out of town. Trying something new. The combo plate was delicious. The chicken had a great smoky flavor as did the brisket and ham. The peachade was delicious mixed with tea. Had the cherry cobbler and it was yummy too Service was great. I would recommend this place.

Clean and creative western decor. Staff very pleasant. Service was fast. Prices moderate. Foam plating and plastic utensils. Hush puppies were small and way over cooked. Catfish was bland with more breading than fish. Coleslaw was good. House corn muffins were tender. Brisket portion was good and was tender but texture and flavor was uninspiring. Bbq sauce was just ok. Not enough reason for us to go back.

OMG BBQ!!! Never thought I would get this level of honest-to-goodness hickory smoked BBQ outside of Kentucky! The ribs must be cooked more than 4 hrs for this kind of tenderness. Chicken is super dark due to hickory smoke... I thought everyone out West just used mesquite. Boy was I wrong! Pulled pork, chicken and ribs are all A+ tender and moist. Sauce is nice and tangy with just a little heat. Sides also rock. The saying is that if the sides are good, the BBQ will be even better. Whipped potato salad and Cole slaw were great. Fried okra amazing. Need to go back by to try brisket and catfish soon! Go no further if you want real BBQ. Endless self serve pickles, onions, jalapenos....sweet tea and real lemonade make it even better. Friendly personable staff. Bring some cash for occasional craft vendors wandering in with trays of handmade native jewelry. A few flies buzzed us, but shooed them away.

Excellent beef brisket! So tender and savory! The peach cobbler is spectacular- with a cake/biscuit on top and not too sweet! Perfect. Plus look at the sculptures on the roof!

Now I've been to quite a few county fairs and goat-ropins'. I've lived down south and I've eaten my share of Brisket. I know brisket. Their "brisket" wasn't brisket. Just beef roast with a sweet sauce ladled on (I suspect store-bought). Veggies were either canned or frozen. I had Okra and Pintos, couldn't finish 'em. Blackberry cobbler was good (with ice cream). Joint smelled good, looked like it was going to be something.

Great food! The catfish is amazing! The portions are large, so therefore, I always end up ordering a light plate!

I just wanna say that who ever gave this more than 1 star ain't got NO TASTEBUDS!! I had the ribs and they were nasty and had a funky after taste most definitely not fresh like one reviewer said. The sides come from a can so theres that. Cobbler was gross and not cooked all the way. Don't be fooled by the reviews THIS IS GROSS HANDS DOWN. Do yourself a favor and go anywhere but here. Most definitely not worth the money we paid.

The food was good we stopped by for the first time ever . Loved in this are most of my life and never ate here until today . The food was fresh and it was fast I had the turkey and it was really good had a good flavor! Excellent customer service and clean atmosphere

None of the staff were wearing masks! We were visiting your lovely city and decided to try your restaurant, based on the good reviews we read, and immediately walked out after seeing that none of your kitchen staff, or anyone behind the counter for that matter, were wearing masks. We are in a pandemic and if that isn't enough, it is a state mandate! We walked out and went elsewhere where our health and safety are important to the business owners.

The spare rib is by far the best bbq in town. It is affordable and delicious! Their meats are prepared super fresh, and the cobbler is to die for. The owners are superb, super friendly and nice. It's like paying to eat in someone's home with the kind of atmosphere they provide. If you go a few times you can bet they'll know your name and come say hello. The staff are very helpful and nice too. It's always spotless and clean, and has a great casual atmosphere. If you want real BBQ, the best in town, then come eat here! You won't regret it. I usually have the pork sandwich with a side of beans, and blackberry cobbler with a touch of ice cream on top. And I have never been disappointed

Yesssss!! BBQ food is the best here and love their Mac and cheese and their peach cobbler was yummy with ice cream and corn on the cob is sweet! And also we have the sampler was great! Had the chicken and brisket and rib and ham and sausage , and the potato salad was delicious, so don't mine being back soon again!

Went here after the Shiprock Marathon. We both ordered the two meat combo (just right amounts), hubby got ribs and brisket I got ribs and chicken. The ribs were amazing....so tender and literally fell off the bone before they reached your mouth. Chicken was the total opposite of the ribs....its the kind of chicken your inlaws forget in the oven for a few hours...couldn't be any drier...ick. I was starving after running the marathon and even I didn't eat them. Hubby's brisket was tender but hard to rate flavor due to the pool of sauce. Everything was covered in sauce...some dishes desperately needed it (I.e. the chicken) but the ribs and brisket would have been divine without it. Full bellies in the end, happy we found it, you should check it out! $30 for two.

For starters everyone working here is super friendly. And it's a third generation business so patronize it because it's good food! The owners granddaughter who came over to speak to the alien with the Joisey accent, is a dead ringer for adult Jenny McCarthy! She's just classier and more mannerly than Jenny! So, really, the perfect Jenny. And thank you for that welcoming encounter! Pulled Pork, Slaw and Corn Muffin all good stuff!!!

Amazing food and service mmm boy. There cobbler thou you have to try it make sure you get some of that soft serve ice cream on top. The pricing is great as well.. Great atmosphere.

The catfish is awesome! The baby backs, and the hot links are my favorites! BBQ at its best! And don't forget to try some of their cobbler!

This place was eager to please and was great! We ordered take out for dinner and the lady up front was very helpful and allowed us to alter the usual family dinner set so we could get the meat we wanted (our family doesn't really like chopped beef so they let us substitute another rack of ribs for the beef and sausage). Service was fast and everyone was really nice! As for taste the ribs were yummy and the sauce was even better! I like to drown things in sauce and when we asked for extra sauce they gave us a whole big container which was perfect. Beans were PINTO not BBQ which was surprising but I still liked it. Coleslaw was awesome!! We were able to get an extra side instead of the dinner rolls so that was legit =D Only thing I didn't really like was the chicken because it was pretty dry but other than that everything was great.

I'm a local, and have been since 1976. BBQ places come & go, spare Rib has remained the same for decades. Warm & friendly staff, who offer the best BBQ in the 4 corners. Menu Prices are affordable, and serving sizes will fill you up. THIS is a mom & pop operation, and it will be worth it to try it out if you haven't yet. The brisket sandwich is my favorite. Their sauce is the bomb!

Incredibly kind staff. I had the sampler. It has sausage ribs chopped beef and pulled pork. The meat was excellent and probably the best potato salad I have ever had. The baked beans are excellent too. Get the peachade.

Great place for spicy barbeque finished off with cobbler. I prefer the sausage sandwich and cerry cobbler

Nice lunch place. I like the down-home atmosphere inside and the service is very polite and helpful. Tried their pulled pork sandwich and it was A-OK. The blackberry cobbler (served warm) was even better. However, while I'm glad they make the attempt to offer it, their sweet tea is barely sweet -- this would never fly in the Southeast.

Ok. I think I gave the third star due to the owner and the staff. The best item is the catfish and the BBQ is average. However, mega points to the very friendly owner and the fact the third generation is working there. I definitely would return...

Great food, fast friendly service. You order at the counter and they bring it out. The light ribs was three large tasty BBQ ribs and excellent sweet coleslaw the a yummy corn muffin. For $3.25 don't miss the cherry cobbler!

Food was pretty good and atmosphere is family friendly. Okra was over cooked and the bbq sauce was different. Meat was cooked good and decent portions.

We LOVE this place! Our entire family eats here on a regular basis and not once have we had any problems. Sweetest ladies always eager to make sure we are taken care of. The food is delicious every time! It's clean, inviting and best barbecue in town!

Had their BBQ at a wedding in the mountains this past weekend. Fantastic! Wanted more.
