This place is a must-go-to for a delicious local lunch. We had the cinque & cinque, a chickpea patty filled sandwich and one with spiced aubergine which was absolutely phenomenal. They serve cold drinks and there are a few seats indoors. Recommended to us by a local it did not disappoint

5+5 (cinque più cinque) is the traditional food here. It cost 2,70 Euros. With eggplant (melanzane) you pay 3,50 Euros and it’s the best meal you can have!

A place of history. A small family dedicating their life into making just one kind of sandwich. The gem is the Torta di ceci, known also as a “Cecina” in Pisa (but don’t you dare ask them to give a Cecina, for the Livornese it’s always Torta di Ceci). Simple ingredients, made with passion, love and you surely taste it. You’re welcomed with the whistles of the owner making the torta di ceci while his family members make the sandwiches. I suggest you take two 5e5 (panino, with the focaccia), one with and the other without “melanzane” (aubergines) for a taste with a spuma Bionda. I found this place while roaming around the second time I visited Livorno. Now I NEVER miss a chance to go to it., and every time feels like the first. If you’re in Livorno, you must go to realise that simplicity is really underrated. The world needs more Chiappa Giulianos!

Staff are very nice. The guy gave us leftover chickpeas pancake from lunch time for free while we were waiting them to bake new batches of pancake for reopening the shop in late afternoon. The food is good when served hot from the oven. Worth for the wait. Wish to come back again 😇

A true gem! 🤩 Amazing, authentic snack, a place with history and tradition. I found it in the Lonely Planet guide and I was not disappointed. The 5 e 5 sandwiches were simple, but delicious, and also very cheap. I recommend the version with an aubergine, but without it was tasty as well. Definitely a must-go!

The food was fresh and delicious. Freshly baked Torta di Ceci with a freshly out of the oven bun with a piece of aubergine grilled with garlic. Simple food, but tasty in its own.

If you haven’t had an eggplant/ceci panino, have you even been to Livorno, bro?! Not exaggerating when I say that sandwich was the highlight of our day trip. Just the absolute best flavors ever, DO NOT MISS the yummiest snack of your life! Super nice service as well.
