Grand Cayman Travel Guide

"A large resort notable for having the island's biggest pool and sitting on the longest continuous stretch of white sand along Seven Mile Beach; guests can access extensive wellness programming and innovative, fish-forward dining such as a dedicated sushi, ceviche, and poke venue that emphasizes super-fresh seafood and communal dining." - Carley Rojas Avila Carley Rojas Avila Carley Rojas Avila is a bilingual travel writer, editor, and content marketer. The 11 Best Hotels and Resorts in the Cayman Islands to Book - AFAR

"Guests can alternate between lounging at the largest freshwater pool in the Cayman Islands and stepping straight onto Seven Mile Beach from the lobby. The property underwent a major renovation in 2017 and now offers 343 updated rooms featuring nautical navy carpeting, oversized abstract artwork, and sleek modern bathrooms. On-site dining ranges from a standard buffet breakfast at Ferdinand’s (waffles, bacon, pastries) to beachfront standouts like lamb chops and crab cakes at Beach House and sushi and ceviche at woto, the resort’s Asian restaurant." - Mariette Williams

"Updated in 2017, the rooms and public areas in this attractive, airy resort have an island-themed decor. Rooms now come equipped with marble bathroom vanities, Smart LED Samsung televisions, and Starbucks Coffee. But the star attraction remains a prime, crowd-free position on Grand Cayman’s Seven Mile Beach, famous for clear water and powder-fine white sand. Resort sun loungers are spread far apart to give guests a sense of privacy. A day camp with fun activities and a healthy meals program for kids (ages 4-to-12) means parents get guiltless downtime (or scuba diving and other water sports). Shopping and alternative dining are within walking distance."

The Westin Grand Cayman is hands down our favorite getaway. We’ve been there three times already and cannot wait to return. From the moment you arrive, the staff make you feel genuinely welcomed. Everyone is friendly, helpful, and always happy to go the extra mile.|The food and drinks at the pool area are absolutely phenomenal and a highlight of every stay. Whether you’re relaxing by the water or enjoying a casual meal, the quality and service never disappoint.|A special thank-you to Shirlando and Lekiysha, who went above and beyond to keep our kids (5 and 7) entertained. Their energy, kindness, and genuine care truly made our experience even more memorable. They are wonderful people and a real asset to the resort.

Fairly disappointed with this property. Thankfully I booked on points, would’ve been extremely disappointed had I paid the $2K+/night price. Staff doesn’t really go above and beyond here as I’ve witnessed at other Marriott branded resorts; an 18% gratuity is included on everything, so staff has no incentive to provide outstanding service. The pool area is nice, but it is small and the pool is very cold. The beach is great. The only problem is it’s very difficult to find seating at either the beach or pool. People go out early and throw their shit down at chairs then don’t return for hours. Even at 8:30-9AM there’s rows and rows of empty chairs with people’s shit on them so there’s nowhere to sit. Their sign indicates they’ll remove any items left unattended for 90 minutes, but that’s not true. Overall, the property is nice and the rooms are spacious. They just don’t have enough space to accommodate all of the guests. Would only recommend on a points booking or if you can find a deeply discounted rate.

Went here at least five times over 10 years of my wife's. Last days we spent our 17th wedding anniversary there and after that point she couldn't handle the trip anymore. This is a great place to stay. I wouldn't stay next door on the ground floor to the scuba and water sports office because it gets very loud in there in the morning and nobody apologized when I complain to management so that's my only take back from being there. I'm submitting some photos that I took way back and our first trip which was 1997 so I hope you enjoy them and also including some of the photos from our last trip. I do like the buffet dinner on the beach but hopefully it won't be very windy cuz it can be an issue putting sand in your food. Enjoy I did and the staff is just top notch. Very respectful, very courteous.

Our family recently stayed at the Westin and it was our second time visiting. Everyone was very friendly and welcoming, the property was clean, and the service was great. The pool and beach were just steps away. I have two boys who are 9 and they loved participating in the kids club activities. Shirlando who works in the kids club and always wearing the biggest smile, made sure the boys were having fun and knew about all the fun activities that were happening each day. This made the experience even better and so many fun new memories were made!

This was my first time to Grand Cayman and staying at The Westin was definitely the right decision. The Westin is in the perfect location on Seven Mile Beach and the sand was so nice and free of shells. The water is the most beautiful I have ever seen. The staff at The Westin was really great. Very attentive and helpful. It's a quick easy trip to the hotel from the airport. I enjoyed everything about my stay.

Warning, get all check-in documentation and the name of the person in writing. We were told the resort fees would be waived based on how we initially booked upon check-in, this was reconfirmed, and we were still charged at check-out and told we were mistaken. We booked the Westin for our honeymoon, where this was an unfortunate ending and unanticipated expense to an otherwise wonderful trip! We also recommend eating outside of the hotel as they overcharge for all food and beverages, especially the daily poolside meal experience. There are wonderful restaurants within walking distance.

Absolutely perfect birthday stay in paradise!!! The Westin Grand Cayman never disappoints and the staff is nothing less than exceptional. The beaches are well maintained and chairs are always clean and umbrellas welcome you to take a quick afternoon snooze. Every meal was great with no compromise on quality. The front desk attendants were amazing and got us to our rooms with no delay. The concierge connected us to a wonderful horseback excursion that was truly a one of a kind experience(highly recommend). While relaxing on the beach, we had 2 amazing attendants Georgie and Tinnika. Even though we kept them running back and forth, every time they came by, they were the shining example of exemplary Marriot service we've become spoiled with. By the way, this was our 5 stay here and thank you again Westin Grand Cayman staff for nothing short of an amazing visit to paradise.

The resort was nice and location was excellent. However, service was not exceptional and staff told us upon check-in the daily resort fee would be waived at check-out, this unfortunately was not the case and we were charged the fee. The trip resulted in being more expensive due to the unanticipated expense. It was frustrating to communicate with the front desk staff, leading to confusion and unexpected charges at check-out that we were told would be waived.
