I Love Pho

One of my new favourites on Victoria Street—right up there with Pho Chu The. Tried I Love Pho recently and was really impressed. The pho broth was super clean, warming, and full of flavour—exactly what you want. I got the beef and chicken combo (with beef broth) and it hit the spot. Noodles had the perfect texture, and the medium size was just right. Only minor thing: I wish there was a bit more beef and chicken in the bowl compared to some other spots, but it was still a decent serve overall. The prawn spring rolls were absolute standouts—crispy, flavour-packed, and we saw them rolling fresh ones while we were dining in, which is always a good sign. Clean, comfortable space with a really cool and friendly owner. Will definitely be back—especially since I work just around the corner.

Haven’t been here for a while and the pho was not as good as what I remembered. It looks good but the soup is not warm enough so the beef is quite raw. All the beef was stacked together so it’s hard to cook through. There isn’t much taste to the soup and the beef. I have had better pho at Springvale.

Fantastic Vietnamese Pho in Melbourne!! We got the Special Beef Pho with sliced beef and tendons! Love it and perfect for the cold weather! Pork springrolls were great as well! Wrap it in the lettuce for extra crunch and dip it into the sauce..yummy!! 😋 Complimentary tea is served with a few condiments on every table (Hoisin sauce, Chili) They are the busiest Vietnamese restaurant in the area!

We ordered 2 medium size of the Special beef pho bowls ($17 AUD each). Medium size was more than enough for us. It was really a good value. From the broth to the noodle and the variety types of meat (there were a lot of meat), everything tasted authentic and so yummy. We especially love the beef meat ball ( bò viên), so good. There was free hot tea & service was ok, typical of Asian restaurants. We had no complaint. For sure we will be back whenever we visit Melbourne again.

The Special beef Pho had a great soup base and I enjoyed the beef tendon and brisket. This is a must try destination for Pho lovers.

The best Pho I’ve eaten so far in Melbourne. The noodles are very smooth. The broth tastes just right and the beef is very tender. Only $15 for small. Very good price and great amount. It’s quite busy. I highly recommend this place.

BEST PHO EVER!! Vegetarian friendly, has been the same consistent taste for a year now too. Fast service and overall great busy vibes in this place. Would recommend to dine in rather than takeaway though as it only tastes good when it's piping hot. Portion sizes are worth the money too.

I love I love pho’s pho. Lol. It hits the spot. And the right price point . Ordered the summer roll and the peanut sauce accompanying it was yummy

Out of all my research, this is probably the best known pho restaurant in Melbourne. I saw so many reviews and ads for it, but I think their pho is not the best I've had. The main plus for this place is that it was open early and I really really wanted to try Melbourne pho. I think the tell for me that it wasn't going to be that good was how commercial the restaurant was. There were posters for sale, westernized signs everywhere, etc. It basically didn't look like a hole-in-the-wall restaurant. That's what I usually look for. The flavors were not cohesive and I didn't like the texture of the noodles. The meat was not as "fresh" as I would have liked either. Service and prices were fine. If you like average pho, go here, but I'm sure there's better out there.

3.5 stars We came across this restaurant as we head to the richmond district to check out authentic vietnamese food. This place was pretty crackin, so we figured we'd eat here. The hubster had the oxtail pho (as he wanted to try something totally new and different), he really enjoyed it and particularly liked the broth, and so did our other 2 friends. I had the chicken pho, which i thought was just mediocre. I felt the noodles was also a bit on the mushy side, and the broth wasn't very flavorful.

I know it seems a favourite but we humans are at most times sheep, flocking to where the crowds are which just creates more crowds... This pho eatery has banked on the sheep flocks. You may think why should I believe you? Well I have some pretty convincing ammunition to why I am a pho connoisseur, firstly I'm Vietnamese & have been born n bred on the noodle broth trialling it all over the world & in Viet mama's kitchens of all my Viet friends. If anyone is going to give you an accurate review of pho it's me! In their defence I've only tried the chicken pho, which was a standard soup broth with no pho aroma which already gives this place a big X, especially when there's a dime a dozen pho restaurants just doors away. Giving it two stars as I've yet to try the standard beef pho but trust me spread your wings & go where the non-westerners go for pho... This place is for the safe & contained & if you're on Yelp then that's not the foodie you are!

I thought this place was great. I ordered the sliced beef pho which was absolutely delicious. Good deep flavour and near perfect with added bean shoots, chilli and mint. Good value for the price too. Overall, a happy experience.

Two dinners for $18, heck yes I LOVE PHO... Definitely traditional pho, and amazing service by the waiters. They kind of new that we were not pros in ordering Pho so they guided us through good options. I had the meatballs (beef balls as listed on the menu) and they were yum, love the soup that was served. With so many Pho-ptions (like what I did there? ;)) on Victoria Street it is smart that these guys have really branded themselves to attract more people from the public...

I am always on the search for the best Pho in town. Recently some of my friends introduced me to a strong contender in the search. I really do love Pho 264. Genius name, you are initially primed to like the meal before you have even ordered it. The menu is very clever, it's just Pho. When you are on to a good thing you stick with it. I know it's a good pho when I am half way through the bowl and my eyebrows start to sweat, maybe I put too much chilli in. When I went we were sitting close to the door, make sure you have a read on the wall and you will find a couple of funny jokes. They're photastic.

I used to adore this place when it was plain old Pho Chu The. Grimy laminex tables, most of the menu written in Vietnamese, heck most of the patrons were Vietnamese. It used to be my place to take "shame-dates", like on Sex And The City, when Big takes Carries to the crappy Chinese restaurant with the good food but horrid decor that guaranteed anonymity. But mostly, I came because the Pho was amazing. I alternate between the beef chicken combination, and the plain beef. BUt then some bastard took rockstar NYC chef David Chang here, and he told some blogger that he liked it... and well, then it became hipster central. So now I have to line up. Thanks for screwing up my local, Chang. And in the aftermath of this success, they somehow decided that they needed to revamp the whole restaurant (and move it two doors down) and the dingy no-frills interior was replaced with a "safe for white folk" image. That's where they lose a star from me. BUt man, $9 for a huge bowl of deliciously aromatic pho with rice noodles? Hell. Yes.

The location is great...in the middle of...Chinatown? The waitress was very friendly and immediately at my table with tea and to take my order. Rare beef of course. The meal was delicious, really great pho. One small detail I would change is the type of noodle..I don't prefer the type they use. Great pho tho, give it a shot.

A cheap, flavourful feed. Staff were friendly, food was tasty with big serves. I got a small vego pho, which was not as bland as some I've had, but definitely needed the hot sauce I poured all over it. Generous size for a small! My partner got a large beef brisket, and thought it was good - he nearly couldn't finish it, which is saying something; it was huge!

Delicious. My medium shredded chicken was very tasty indeed. Bustling, no nonsense lunch time crowd. SUPER FAST service at an economical price.

Yes, I'm a fan of their Pho. They; the Mama & boys used to run the other Pho place with a Vietnamese name a couple doors away, the new modernised name is a welcome initiative in making Pho more like an Australian staple diet; the traditional Aussie Meat Pies. Classic cooked and half-cooked Beef soup, Pork & Prawns Spring Rolls. Always that home, friendly greetings, knows you by face and order. Great work, enjoy my fellow Foodies.

I'm disappointed. Especially after all the praise that I Love Pho 264 has received from everyone. I know that, as a vegetarian, there are just some dishes that don't translate well from its original meaty/seafood version to its (poor) vegetarian cousin. I get that. But it really doesn't excuse the poor vegetarian pho that was dished up to me. It was just absolutely tasteless. There was no flavour to the soup; in fact, I am 99% sure that it was just boiled water. I added a ton of chilli (as in the entire amount of chili I was given, equivalent to about 3 chillis worth) and soy sauce and it was still bland, bland, bland. There is really no excuse because I've tasted extremely flavourful vegetarian pho at other places. I know that other people have sung praises about I Love Pho 264's vegetarian pho, which makes it even more baffling as to why I got such a poor, flavourless pho.

Formerly known as Chu The (I still call it it this as well as many people I know... 'I Love Pho 264' really doesn't roll off the tongue too well). This place, along with Pho Dzung, are my two favourite haunts on Victoria St. I basically go to whichever one I'm parked closest to, or whichever has seating available. Note: this place is quite small and gets pretty busy during the evening - the line sometimes snakes its way out the front door. If you are really hungry, craving and can't wait, there are other great pho options down the road including aforementioned Pho Dzung.

Probably the best Pho joint in Melbourne, I Love Pho 264 is my go to place for Pho. They used to be called Pho Chu The but have since moved and renamed themselves. Unfortunately, another Pho Chu The has taken over their old shop space so please don't be deceived, I Love Pho 264 is the original one down this end of Victoria Street. Their broth is delicate, subtle and not too overly MSGed like other Pho joints. They are extremely child friendly and you can even order a kid's bowl.

The Pho here beats most places along Victoria street. Heaps of flavor and delicious noodles. Great vegetarian option also. Otherwise not heaps of variety on the menu, they stick to pho and you should too here. The service is quick but even so, expect to line up most nights after 6:30.

I have heard of this place but i've never been a bit 'Pho' fan. When I found out my sister got given one of their tshirts for christmas, I thought I had better check this place out. I ordered just the regular Beef Pho. There are no prices or sizes on the wall, I asked for a small but the bowl that came out was nothing like a small. I think they just have 1 size? The soup was delicious! It came with the regular sides - basil, beanshoots and lemon. The waiter was nice, he suggested stuff and was actually quite polite. Not something I would expect to be honest, but it was a positive surprise :) The beef was chunkier than ones I've had before and there was alot of it. It's no wonder these guys are so popular. It's cheap, fast and great quality - will definitely be back for more!

There are lots of things I like about this place. The vegetables they serve with their pho and spring rolls are very fresh! (You can't say that about many places). I had Pho Tai (sliced beef. no 3) and the meat was tender, tasty and fresh! My missus had a combination one she didn't like it but that's because you get stuff like cartilage and tripe! (I like those parts but its not for exactly 'normal' food) We also had prawn spring rolls, yummy! And I washed it down with ice cold Vietnamese white coffee, which was strong but not too sweet. (I like mine sweeter) Still the coffee had plenty of 'kick'! Oh and like Reuben said about the noodles, I wish they'll go for a chewier version, the noodles served here are quite soft and flour-y if you know what I mean. $30 for all that! :D In all, we loved it!

One of those places that is boringly average yet somehow people think it's good? The food is okay but if I stood at their front door I could kick a footy to 20 other Vietnamese joints just as good, or exceptionally better. The service is crap, half your order won't turn up. If you crave pho, go somewhere else.

This place has gone downhill! YMMV.. The last time here was over a yr ago... the long absence was to due to same reason. The broth does not compare to Chu The no more than 4 shop fronts down. The beef slices are not finely sliced nor are their chicken pieces. my biggest gripe with this place is that when it comes out... it's not piping hot. today's pho had no taste. Very bland!! but I gave to say that their spring rolls are the best compared to others I've tried around Melbourne.

Formerly Pho Chu The! There is a reason why this family-run restaurant has a queue outside its doors from 6.30pm on most days including weekdays! The fact that you can only get pho (pronounced fur) at this eatery should hint quite obviously what they are known for. The great thing about this healthy and affordable meal is everyone has it differently. Some people put a variety of sauces in their broth, others have it al naturel. I love it with lots of basil, bean shoots, some chilli (beware: the chillies are not for the faint hearted) and the ingredient that does it for me: Extra pickle onion! Perfect as a satisfying meal on its own but if you need a little bit more, try the deep fried spring rolls (pork or prawn) which can be eaten by themselves or rolled in fresh lettuce and dunked in fish sauce. Beverages to compliment the piping hot soup noodles include delicious Vietnamese ice coffee, young coconut juice or the eye-catching three bean drink. And if you really want to end the meal on a high, try the refreshing coffee jelly - which comes in a convenient take away cup just in case you are too full to have it all in one sitting. Go before 6.30 to avoid the queue. Free parking is available along Victoria Street after 5pm but there are limited lots so try and park in well-lit side streets if necessary.

I don't live in Australia anymore, but I dream of this pho. Like, literally have dreams where I'm in Melbourne and driving down the road and salivating because I'm about to have a large beef and chicken pho with 6 lemons in it. My family has been eating at Hung and fam's shop for the last 6-7 years and have never once been disappointed. Too hot for pho, you say? I can fix that. Head on down the road to their sister shop, Phoenix (349 Victoria St), for a extended selection of vermicelli salads, rice dishes, fried calamari in addition to pho to satisfy your summer Vietnamese cravings.

This place is packed. You'll get a table if you wait around 10mins because they turn over pretty fast. I went in a group of three people and it only cost $43, total. Seriously. I'm not even sure how that is possible. Between us we ordered: - vegetarian spring rolls - vegetarian pho - pork & prawn rice paper rolls - beef pho - tea I had the vego stuff and it was super fresh and very tasty. My friends thought the same about their orders. I will definitely go back.

The place is busy, so went early for dinner. Big portion, large pho can share for 3 ppl. Nice and fresh. You need to mix them with the sauces n chilly the was u like it. Order 1 large and medium pho and fresh rolls, paid 40 aud, cheap!

The name says Pho but I was blown away by the amazing Vietnamese coleslaws. I had the prawn and pork one and it was piled high on the plate with the meat generously mixed through and prawn crackers on the side. Definitely met my healthy salad quota for the day.

Had dinner there tonight, the pork spring rolls were great as was the beef and chicken combo Pho. I'll be back to try some more off the menu for sure.

I was recommended this place by the concierge at Marriott. I ventured out and must say the Pho I had was outstanding. Service was polite and fast and the food came out hot - like Pho ought to be. It was delicious and very satisfying. Fresh red chillies cut and served on the side to add to taste and level of spice you prefer. The place was busy but fast service kept the rotation of client good. Of course, take out time to eat - no one rushes you. They DO NOT accept credit card so have cash handy. A medium bowl of Pho was only $10. The portions were generous and the servers were very pleasant. This is going to be a must visit stop for me going forward when I am in town. Take the 10 min can ride and you will not regret.

Thick creamy beef broth, lots of fresh bean shoots, son-mother-grandmother running the show, aquarium not featured on menu, and only a few dishes to choose from...so perfect for indecisive phoreigners who appreciate cloudy homebrew marrow broth en masse.

Probably the best Pho in Melbourne. Great service. No fuss staff. Clean and tidy. Often busy.

how can you honestly argue with a name like that for a business? pho best consumed on a humid day, with lots of chilli and sprouts with some tea to quench the fire..

The food is above average. I think the owners should take steps to improve the ambience, hygiene and sanitary conditions of the noodle restaurant with a view to preventing the outbreak of Salmonellosis..
