Massey's Kitchen

We stopped here for a late lunch after visiting Ruby Falls on the way to Rock City. The location was easy to find and there was plenty of free 2-hour street parking available. We had a 3:30 reservation and arrived right on time. After placing our order, the food came out in about 30 minutes. We tried the House Burger, Margherita Pizza, and Sicilian Baguette, and everything was excellent — flavorful, fresh, and very satisfying. The staff were friendly and attentive, and the outdoor seating area was dog-friendly, which made the atmosphere even better. Overall, this restaurant was a wonderful stop — delicious food, nice setting, and pet-friendly seating. Highly recommend stopping by if you’re in the area!

We just had the most wonderful delicious lunch! Everything looked beautiful and delicious, very hard to pick what to eat! :) 10/10 recommend the falafel & hummus appetizer, Mediterranean chicken bowl, shrimp salad and Morrocan roasted shrimp! We tried 2 pizzas and we wanted more! So happy we found this place on our way down from Rock City.

I can’t help but add to the giant pile of well-deserved good reviews!! My mom and I came here on a rabbit trail while road-tripping, super hungry from skipping breakfast, and the food was high quality, came super quickly and was served with love! We ate outside so that we could have our dog with us, and the shade from the trees and umbrellas made a great breezy atmosphere. Our server Mahshid was incredible! She took great care of us and checked up on us often, making great conversation and making us feel right at home. We’d love to come back here any time we can!

We were greeted by the hostess and seated within a few minutes, which was a nice start considering how busy the place was. Unfortunately, things started to go downhill from there. We ordered cocktails and beers along with the falafel & hummus as a starter. After some time, we placed our main dish orders—the Sicilian baguette, Greek chicken pizza, and the shrimp scampi flatbread—even though we still hadn’t received our drinks or appetizer. Drinks arrived shortly after the main order was placed, but the starter was still missing. To our surprise, the main dishes came out next. Not only had we still not received the falafel & hummus, but the main dishes were either burnt or lukewarm. We politely asked our server about the missing appetizer, as our daughter had specifically wanted that dish. The server apologized and put in a rush order, and a few minutes later, the falafel & hummus was finally brought to the table. We want to note that we didn’t ask for any food to be remade or replaced, as the experience was already disappointing by that point. Honestly, the kitchen staff should not have served food in that condition, and the manager should not have charged us for a rushed starter that was only brought out after our mains due to a staff or kitchen oversight. Given the strong reviews, we were surprised by how poor our visit was. Maybe it was just an off day, but even so, this experience felt far below what the restaurant's reputation suggests. I believe this review is justified and hope it can serve as constructive feedback. We received an automated email reply from management, but no one has followed up on my direct email regarding our visit.

What a hidden gem Massey's Kitchen is! We are so glad we took a wrong turn leaving Rock City and found ourselves driving by at lunch time. The food was fabulous and the service was top-notch. Our waitress was personable, friendly, and helpful in guiding teenagers to what they would enjoy. We highly recommend both the pizza and the stromboli and can't wait to visit again the next time we are up on Lookout Mountain!

Visiting from Florida and found this spot, awesome food and atmosphere. The view from it is amazing and the staff were friendly. Got the pizza, 2 person sampler, and the whipped feta. Never have I had Feta taste so good, would highly recommend this to anyone in the area!

We had one of the best dining experiences recently, and it was all thanks to the incredible food and the exceptional service. From the moment we walked in, we felt welcomed and taken care of — and a huge part of that was our amazing server, Mashid. She was beyond lovely — kind, attentive, and genuinely one of the warmest people we’ve ever met in the restaurant space. Her energy was so positive, and she had the perfect balance of professionalism and heartfelt hospitality. She didn’t just take our order — she made us feel like we were guests in her own home.

Food and service was great ordered the margherita and added pepperoni. Their lemonade is really good and bottomless. Really fresh ingredients and well priced. I asked if they had a fridge sticker to take home, they were out but gave me a few coozies no charge very friendly!

Wonderful! We are visiting from Oregon and needed a meal that aligned with our 3-hour difference, so we tried Massey's. Our experience was exceptional. Now, granted we arrived at 3:30 so not too crowded, but we were welcomed warmly and immediately and were seated promptly. Our hostess smiled the entire time even handling the rambunctious 3-year-old at the table next to ours like a pro while continually engaging us. The food was a nice sized portion and was served with artistic finesse. My wife was able to change the couscous for spinach and arugula because of her gluten sensitivity. I ordered the kababs. Meaty, light, filling, with a substantial salad! The couscous was light and airy and delicious! The home run of this dining experience was the blue berry-lavender lemonade. Oh. My. Gosh! So tasty. I didn't ask about the sugar content, but yeah.... Overall, we enjoyed our experience. We would definitively go back.

We ordered the House Burger, Margherita Pizza, and Sicilian Baguette -- everything was absolutely delicious! The burger was juicy, the pizza had that perfect balance of cheese and sauce, and the baguette was packed with flavor. The staff was super friendly and welcoming. I also loved that the outdoor seating was pet-friendly -- there were a few dogs relaxing with their owners, which gave the whole place a really nice vibe. Pretty, tasty, and with great service -- if you're visiting the area, this is definitely a spot to check out!

We were recommend this location by another business in the same area. After a long hot day on the mountain, we were looking for something different. Mediterranean food sounded great. When we arrived there was plenty of parking on and off the street. The restaurant has any updated features including retractable doors to open up the space to the outdoors during nice weather. I order a gyro with fries and my wife ordered the shrimp flatbread. Both offerings were homemade and fresh. The food was delisciuos, the atmosphere was casual and the service was excellent. My only complaint was the lack of ceiling fans and ac. Overall. I would highly recommend Massey's Kitchen.

Beautiful place, inside and out. Lovely patio. Food was excellent and so delish, great coffee! Service was also excellent, Lexi was our server and she did a great job, knew the menu well and the history of the restaurant! 10/10 recommend Went for Easter brunch. Menu and prices as of 4/2025.

Such a lovely little spot atop lookout mountain. The service was wonderful and attentive and the restaurant was adorable. Our food was very fresh and they had great wholesome options. The only issue I had was that everything was just a tad too salty for my liking. Otherwise, we had a great time here!

Ordered the falafel bowl and although everything was delicious, it only came with two falafels. A falafel bowl should come with AT LEAST 4 falafels. We won't be back.

This is one of the only restaurants I know of on Lookout and thank goodness it's a good one! I have been here twice now, and both times, I have been impressed with the quick & friendly service, the laid-back ambiance, and the food. Most recently, my husband and I ordered the Mediterranean Chicken Salad and the Tuscan Pizza, and I think that just might be the perfect combo! The salad is so good and full of chicken, while the pizza is cooked perfectly and topped with sooo many good veggies. Perfect spot to end your day after a hike on the mountain!

The ambience was great and the food was superb!! Our server, Mahshid, was very polite and shared with us her recommendations. We had the Greek Chicken Pizza and the Chicken Kofta Kebab dinner. The pizza was great and big enough to share. The kebabs were served over a bed of perfectly cooked couscous with a chopped side salad. Their gelato is made in house and it was amazing! The pistachio gelato was balanced in texture and flavor. You could taste the freshness of the pistachios. Mahshid also offered us the strawberry gelato on the house and it was fantastic, as well. Definitely will be back!

We stopped by after visiting Rock City. And it was fresh and delicious. Even the kids pizza was real pizza :) great service and a fun atmosphere of inside or outside dining. Park across the street at the church.

Wow - I cannot wait to go back to try more food! My mom and I loved this meal. We were headed to Rock City, and I had heard there were restaurants on top of the mountain. I am so glad we found this place. I want to try their lunch/dinner menu as well! We sat at the small bar inside, so we were able to be seated right away. Our service was quick, and our server was very nice. The pizza was so flavorful, and we used that Grecian Dust on everything on that charcuterie board. It was such a great start to our day.

A great place on the TN side of Lookout Mountain! Beautiful setting along Scenic Highway but in the middle of the downtown area in a converted General Store. It's classy but comfortable and elegant while layed back. Food was great, an updated and eclectic version of Southern Comfort and Mediterranean--delicious! We were there for an Anniversary Brunch in the middle of a travel softball trip, so it was a welcome respite in a hot & dusty few days! Service was very friendly but efficient and caring. And the food was excellent! Highly recommend. You need to add Suavecito Tequila for some great brunch cocktails given the quality of your bourbon & whiskey shelf!

Love this place!!! Atmosphere is so relaxing and perfect to sit outdoors. Food is DELICIOUS. Our server Evan was great. I ordered a sandwich not knowing ham was in it, he without hesitation took it back, made me sandwich without and even asked if I wanted some other things added to it. Pizza is delicious. We just enjoy every time we eat here!!!

The pizzas are large portions. The server was nice. This was a local restaurant. Seems like lots of families come here to eat. The food took some time to come out but it was delicious. The flatbread pizza i ordered was good, shrimp and argula. The atmosphere inside the restaurant is casual and family friendly.. it feels like a great local place to hang out. I definitely recommend this place and would stop by again if I was in the neighborhood.

Hidden gems on Lookout Mountain! The burger was delicious and juicy. Pancakes, sausage, and eggs were great. Service was exceptional. If we are back in the area, we will definitely come back for sure! Ps. Their complementary olives were so good! I'd buy 2 lbs bag of olives home if we would not have plans to stop at other places.

A delightful spot on lookout mountain! Just a cool place, fabulous service, terrific pizza pie. Very accommodating to large groups for such a small place. We had a lovely time and would love to come back on a sunny day.

Seriously the best pizza I've ever had and that's saying a lot. Crispy, adjust the perfect amount of softness in the center. Open and breezy warm atmosphere. I can't say enough!!!

Ate here yesterday and we are back today. For the location prices are reasonable. I can't say enough about the freshness or quality of the ingredients; superb. Our pizza was amazing, better than some in Manhattan. We loved the Chef's Board we actually got that and a pizza for breakfast. Felt like we were in Europe enjoying a local bistro. The host and server were friendly and knowledgeable; never felt rushed. You can sit inside or outside and the cool mountain air made outside better than inside. If you like quality, good service and a fair price I don't think you can go wrong. And there aren't other places like this on the mountain so you're driving a distance off the mountain to get anything like Massey's. And our servers yesterday and today, Rachael and Ollie couldn't have done any better.

Amazing breakfast at Massey's Kitchen awhile back when visiting Lookout Mountain for the weekend. The restaurant is beautiful, with a light, bright, friendly vibe. We were seated quickly and chose blueberry and chocolate chip pancakes, along with bacon. Our server checked on us several times and kept our glasses filled with mimosas. Only hiccup was that it took forever to flag down our server and get our check. I'd definitely visit again, as Massey's is a unique little gem!

My friend and I ordered the Tuscan pizza and split it. Best pizza I've had in awhile!! I'd rate it a 9.5/10, points lost only because I felt the outside pieces could use a little more of the delicious toppings. What a unique pizza with great flavors! Lots of nice outdoor seating and a very kind staff.

We had such a stellar experience today. We are a family of seven, kids from 14 down to a five month old. Needless to say, dining out isn't always easy. But we were taken care of so well by the staff. They were endlessly helpful, polite, and served us with such kindness. Just the top notch service would have been enough, but the food was just as phenomenal. My kids loved their burger and fries. My wife and I enjoyed the baked feta as well as our pizzas. The atmosphere was just lovely. It was a beautiful day outside and the windows and doors were all open. The breeze was coming through and it was perfect. Whenever we visit Lookout Mountain, this will always be a spot for us to stop at.

Lovely little cafe located on the top of Lookout Mountain. Enjoyed our brunch on the porch outside until it rained, but was easily transferred inside by wait staff with no problem. Large portions so bring your healthy appetite!

Wow, where to begin? My girlfriend and I were in Chattanooga for a few days and had just been to Rock City. We were looking for a lunch spot and came across Massey's Kitchen. The food was incredible... some of the best I've had in a long time. On top of that, the service and atmosphere in their charming spot on Lookout Mountain were fantastic. We loved it so much that we came back for lunch the next day and were sad that we didn't have another day to continue exploring the menu. The gyro and the Mediterranean chicken salad were standout dishes.

This Mediterranean gem was absolutely delicious! Fresh made from scratch meals in a beautiful location on the mountain. Server was very helpful and a delight. Don't sleep on this one.

The pizza was a bit weird but I really enjoyed the flavor. The toppings were fresh, the service was really good and I would definitely eat there again if I am back in the area. The kids enjoyed their cheese pizza and the salad was fresh and flavorful. The atmosphere is nice and fun , though it wasn't busy when I came in. There are other places that serve pizza but this one is considerably better. Parking can be a bit of a trick but it's worth waiting for a spot

After a tour at Ruby Falls (wouldn't recommend), my friends and I wanted a good dinner and this was definitely the place to go. As someone who spent 4 months in Morocco, the Moroccan Shrimp and couscous was delicious and so was the chicken kofta kebab! We sat outside on the beautiful patio and had great service!

The food is the cleanest quality and best tasting that i have found around here. The service is always good because the people actually enjoy serving others with top notch food and beverage

Delicious food! Everything was delicious! Our waiter Luke E. Was friendly and helpful! No complaints about anything! Only recommendation for restaurant is to use Israeli couscous instead of the one you use.

Delicious food in a perfect setting on top of Lookout Mountain, TN. The hostess, Myers, was absolutely delightful and was the perfect first impression for Massey's. Open air, great service, amazing margaritas ( I don't recommend more than 2 ) and yummy Mediterranean food. We live close by and frequent it often!

Great service, loved their pizza which is roman style and gazpacho, kid friendly, clean. You can taste the quality of their ingredients.

Visited on a busy Saturday afternoon, quickly waited on and seated. Had the margharita pizza, which was delicious. They offer a special on mimosas with the brunch menu and they were great. Really great food and fantastic service.

We had an amazing experience from start to finish today. The service was amazing and our drinks were kept fresh and full. We ordered from the brunch menu and enjoyed all of the dishes, breakfast pizza, breakfast flatbread, blueberry pancakes and a falafel pita.

We were visiting Lookout Mountain for 2 nights. Fortunately someone recommended Massey's. Loved the menu choices! There were 5 of us, all ordering different items. All selections were delicious! Our 2nd night, we ordered pizzas to go and were not disappointed. Also have to comment about the staff. They were extremely competent and friendly.

This is my favorite place for brunch! It is a Mediterranean style influence for the remainder of the day but during brunch it is pretty Americanized.

I rarely give the full five stars, but this little gem, nestled away on Lookout Mountain, Tennessee, certainly deserves the highest accolades. My wife and I were celebrating our 26th wedding anniversary and were happy to find such a friendly place serving authentic Mediterranean fare. The food was incredible, prepared with the sort of personal flair that was reminiscent of what we had experienced in Greece and Italy, giving the impression that it had been prepared just for you. The service was as great as the cuisine. We had the opportunity to interact with both our server and the general manager (Montario Washington), both of whom seemed genuinely interested in making us feel welcome. They went about their work in a relaxed, unhurried manner, taking the time to chat with all of their guests. We will look forward to returning to Massey's Kitchen on our next visit. If you get the chance to go there, this is a place you will want to experience.

What a great brunch/lunch. We stopped here to eat after hiking Lula Lake. It was the perfect day to sit outside. We had pancakes and bloody Mary's. All delicious!! Service was great too!!!!

This place is nearly always crowded- and for good reason. They are one of the few dining options on Lookout Mountain, so they have a menu with just enough variety to hold their customers' interest. The service is friendly and the staff seems attentive and knowledgeable. The entire menu is good, but the pizza is a standout.

We're in town for a few days, both night went to Massey's because it's that good. I can't remember our servers names on Wednesday night but she was perfect. Long dark hair in a ponytail, we sat in the corner table to the left. One side bench the other a chair. Tonight we had Luke who was equally as good. The food was great, drinks perfect, servers were so polite and responsive. Great recommendations. If we ever come back to the area this will be our place to go. Thank you.
