I had really high hopes for this place — the elote was actually great (though it’s kind of hard to mess that up 😂). Unfortunately, the rest of my order was a big letdown.
My enchilada came out cold and, even though the menu said it had chicken, there wasn’t a single piece in it — just cheese. For $23 (including tip), that was frustrating. I also ordered two tacos without cabbage, and the cashier even repeated my order back: “so just meat and onions?” I told her no, I wanted lime and cheese — that’s literally the only way I’ll eat tacos. But when I got home (just three minutes away), my tacos were cold too and missing everything I’d asked for.
What really confused me is that I waited inside with my buzzer — so I’m not sure how the food got cold if everything’s supposedly made fresh based on the sign in the dining room. The ladies working were super kind, and the person who handed me my order wasnt the one who rang it in because she was eating when I left, but still, the experience just went south after I actually opened my bag.
Instead of the lime I asked for, I got a pepper, which would’ve been funny if I hadn’t specifically said no peppers or jalapeños.. it literally says on the menu that it comes with lime yet somehow they gave me a pepper 😂. I might sound picky, but when you spend some of your last few dollars hoping for a good meal and end up throwing most of it away, it kind of ruins your day. Especially after i told her two different times my order to make sure it was correct. It just isn’t the type of economy to be playing with peoples money. It normally wouldn’t even be an issue but I think people should know that there is 5x better for half the price.
I’ll probably stick to Joey’s they’ve never gotten my order wrong, and the food is always hot and flavorful for half the price. It’s just a longer drive. Even then my food is hot when I get home.
