Hospes Las Casas del Rey de Baeza, Seville, Southern Spain - Explore & Book

"A sublime city, a lovely hotel. You’re in the old town with a palace on one side of a cobbled square and a whitewashed church on another. Step inside and crisp, contemporary interiors seduce immediately. Impeccable rooms, airy sitting rooms and a rooftop swimming pool all elate, but it’s the 3 courtyards that take the biscuit. Old ceramic pots and mill stones are scattered about, colour spills from flowerbeds, stone pillars flank the sides and steps lead up to cloistered walkways that wrap around above. A great place to eat at any time.Inside, the style is warmly chic: smart, but you feel at home. In the dining room, a wall of glass looks onto a tiny courtyard shaded by banana trees. Sitting rooms are adorned with modern art, leather sofas and perhaps the odd occupied Victorian birdcage. You sleep on starched linen in charming rooms, the best of which have French windows that open onto the square. Delightful. Highs The whole place is gorgeous, with lots of relaxing corners, but the courtyards are hard to beatWe loved chilling at the tiny rooftop pool and wellness area, with views across Seville's terracotta skylineA convenient, quiet location – the Old Town's labyrinthine alleyways are just round the corner, the Catedral and Alcazar are a 10-minute walk Lows Rooms are expensive, but we feel they're worth it Some rooms are quite dark due to their windows opening onto the interior courtyardThe lower level rooms can be noisy, particularly those around the courtyard. Try to get a top floor room if you can" - Tom Bell

"It seems unlikely that any hotel could make good on a promise to shield its guests from the electrifying din of Seville’s flamenco-tinged street life. Las Casas del Rey de Baeza, though, accomplishes this, and a bit more." - Tablet Hotels

Hospes Las Casas del Rey de Baeza is a lovely hotel situated in the heart of the old city, and within walking distance of many of Sevilla's main attractions. The hotel has a lovely, relaxing courtyard, a library for sipping wine and a rooftop pool and lounging area. Our quiet room was beautifully designed and comfortable with good wifi. The bathroom was spacious by European standards and the shower worked well with plenty of hot water. The hotel's restaurant was also good and the breakfast was plentiful and varied. The staff were attentive and helpful and made us feel special. A wonderful experience!

Stayed for 4 nights in this fantastic hotel a 10 to 15 minute stroll from the old city centre. The hotel is delightful. Built around a central courtyard across 3 floors and exuding charm, it is a beautiful oasis of calm. |There is a small terrace area on the rooftop with a pool, suitable for cooling off after a day in the sun. |Our room was super clean and comfortable and very quiet. |Breakfast was buffet style with plenty of choices. It could get quite noisy in the dining room some mornings as there seemed to be a couple of tour groups staying. Special mention to the staff on reception who were very helpful and friendly and to Rosa in the restaurant for always being ready with a cheery smile and for Pablo who was always happy to help. |There were multiple ways to walk down to the main area of the city but the best way is to just wander the back streets, get lost and explore. |15 minutes in a taxi to get back to the airport. I would advise asking reception to book a taxi for you as the hotel is not on a main road and there is very little passing traffic.

Our stay at this hotel unfortunately didn’t live up to the four-star standard we expected for €247 a night. One major downside was the pricey add-ons, starting with their €65 airport “transfer.” We tried to cancel it nearly a full day in advance, but the hotel refused — disappointing, especially since it turned out to just be a standard taxi driver. They weren’t even holding our name sign clearly, so I had to walk around scanning cards to find them, and once I did, they simply walked quickly ahead to the car and even asked us to confirm the hotel address. Hardly the premium experience you’d expect for that price — especially with 20+ other taxis waiting outside for half the cost. The hotel itself is pretty and well-located, but the rooms are small and not soundproof at all. We could hear everything from the hallways and neighboring rooms. Breakfast was decent but really more about convenience — there are plenty of great cafés within a 5–10 minute walk offering similar or better options for half the price. While many of the staff were friendly, a few interactions left us feeling like we were a bother for simple requests you’d expect at a four-star property. On a couple of occasions, staff knocked and entered our room at awkward times, which felt intrusive. Overall, the hospitality just didn’t feel cohesive or polished. In the end, the location and aesthetics are nice, but the experience didn’t match the premium price tag. If you can find a rate closer to €100–150 per night, it would feel much more aligned with the value offered.

We had a wonderful stay in late October at this fabulous hotel. From|the moment we arrived, tired and travel stained, at 1215am, we were greeted most warmly and shown to our beautiful room. They have cleverly combined modern styling with a flavour of old Andalusia - the enclosed courtyards, beautiful decor with nods to the history of Seville and fab location in the historic centre. Breakfast is delicious and has many options - and the staff are so helpful. Bed large and so comfy. Don’t forget the small but fab roof top pool and wonderful sun bathing area for your post historic and cultural visits relaxation. We opted for this more expensive hotel and are so glad we did. Séville is seductive and vibrant and staying at Hospes was the perfect formula to enjoy it to the full.

This lovely hotel is situated in the old town just a short walk from shops, restaurants and all the cultural sites. Rooms vary in size and all overlook the central courtyard which is decorated with flowers and plants. Some larger rooms are extremely well appointed and all are clean with daily service provided. The restaurant serves a good selection of dishes and breakfast is wonderfully presented. Eating in the courtyard is a delight as it offers a beautiful setting. There is a roof top pool with several areas to relax. Drinks service at the pool is also provided. The staff were very polite and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. We had a wonderful stay here and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Seville.

Excellent location such a beautiful city to visit! Lovely hotel and outstanding staff both reception and restaurant courteous and very helpful. Rooms were tasteful and unique. Good value although next time I will book direct rather than through a third party.

We have had a brilliant stay at this fantastic hotel in Seville. It was our first time here, and we loved all the excitement of the city and equally returning to Las Casas for a great night’s sleep - and some time beside the wonderful roof top pool. All staff at the hotel are brilliantly helpful and also the delicious breakfast, generous products and immaculate cleanliness make it a great option. It’s in an excellent location too.

Our first visit to Seville, and we made a brilliant choice with our hotel. A wonderful staff, who were warm, and welcoming. The hotel was immaculate and spacious considering uts location. A great room in a really good location on the edge of the old town. A really good roof top pool and bar made the hot afternoons a pleasure. |Would definitely stop there again.

Yelp
Where do I even start?! We spent a whole week at Las Casas Del Rey de Baeza exploring beautiful Sevilla, and we couldn't think of a better place to stay for our vacation. This hotel made our Sevilla trip an unforgettable one. Location: It could not be more centrally located. I love being 10 minutes walking from the the busiest parts of the city -- like the Cathedral area -- but also close to more local and less touristy neighborhoods like Alfalfa and Feria. The hotel is in a street that isn't very busy, so we felt tucked in the whole time from the moment we stepped inside the lobby and were welcomed by their incredible staff. Speaking of staff -- everyone was so welcoming and friendly. The treatment was up there with some luxury hotels we've stayed at. Honestly, I can't say enough amazing things about those working at this hotel. From leaving bottles of water in our car for our drive to cleaning our room at 9 PM because housekeeping accidentally forgot one day -- they went above and beyond with their actions to ensure we felt taken care of. The hotel itself is just gorgeous. It felt like the set of an Andalusian movie. The courtyard, the plants, the subtle touches everywhere; it was one of the most beautiful properties we've had the privilege of staying at. The bed was comfortable, the bathrooms were modern, and their non-cookie-cutter decor made for an incredible first impression. Parking was a breeze -- they charged €24 a day, which is fair for valet parking. Parking garages nearby charge more. I would gladly pay for this again.

Yelp
Excellent service. 15 minutes walk from the Seville train station. 15-20 minutes walk to the historical area of Seville. Lots of good restaurants within 10 minutes of walking distance. Location worked just fine for our vacation. Upon arrival, they have a welcome drink available. It was like after dinner drink. Strong but good. Since our room wasn't ready, they processed check in and took our luggage to store while we go out and about. When we returned, our luggage was already in our room. The room key is traditional key, and leave your room key at the front desk each time you go out. They quickly remembered our face and room number, staff stood by the door with our key as soon as we walked in the lobby. The room we were assigned was quite tiny with very small bathroom. Bed was about full size bed. Since this was older building, wall is very thin and I could hear other guests noise. No breakfast included for platinum members but plenty of cafes nearby serving breakfast for about 5€. Since we only stayed here one night, the small room size was just fine. If I stay longer, I would search for larger rooms. Despite of some negatives, their excellent service throughout make this hotel five stars.

Yelp
Pure relaxation. Extremely charming, airy and bright small hotel. Customer service was excellent. We wanted to view the world cup match. The antenna conked out but the staff kept working on It!. Finally, we all sat in reception where they streamed the game on a laptop. So appreciated. The room was wonderful with unlimited coffee and tea. The beds were comfortable. There were so many spots just to relax. 2 courtyards, absolutely lovely library and sitting rooms, the pool. It was so wonderfully quiet too. It only takes 10 minutes to get to the old quarter and I felt it was close enough. A 5 minute walk gets you to local only squares and about 8 mins away is an artesanal bakery. Would love to stay here again. This was quietly luxurious.

Yelp
We had high expectations for this hotel but felt let down in certain areas. On our second day here we stopped and sat in the courtyard for drinks. We waited 20 minutes and no one greeted us or offered to help us as multiple employees walked pasted us and ignored us. Finally we had to walk into the lobby and ask the receptionist to please help us find a waiter to take our order. There were only 2 parties seated at the time and we saw more employees than customers and no one was willing to stop, greet us and take our order. We finally flagged down a waiter and was able to get service. Not the best experience and not what we expected from a 4 star hotel. Some positives are the hotel has a lot of charm and the rooms are decent. I don't think I would stay here again given the poor service on the patio.

Yelp
We stayed here using our SPG points. Depending on what your idea is of a long walk will determine if this place is central to what you would like to explore. We were traveling with 2 kids and the 15 minute walk to the center of everything (catedral, casa real, etc) was worth the exploration. We loved Hospes for its hospitality, tranquility, service, and friendliness. We felt like we were staying with friends and found us frequently striking up conversations with the friendly staff. They were attentive and eager to please. Our standard room with a King size bed was quite big compared to a traditional room in the states. It fit two adults, a 13 year old and a 7 year old, although the 13 year old did get a roll away bed. The room is designed with a lot of thought. We were missing an ironing board and the A/C was not keeping up, but when we requested service and concerns it was promptly addressed. We selected breakfast at check in and the price and menu selections was another great option. With a decent spread and the option of ordering hot and fresh items we could not complain. Everything was so fresh and organic. Lastly, there is a pool on the top deck, which is small but big enough to be refreshed, enjoy some food and a cocktail. Wish we could have stayed longer. Adios Sevilla!!

Yelp
This hotel is beautiful but belongs on a countryside. It has a quaint feel to it, with working wooden shutters on the windows. The rooms get nice and dark. The staff is very friendly and helpful. There is complimentary candy, water, and sangria available. The breakfast buffet is small but there are plenty of items to order from a menu as well. My only complaint (about the city of Seville in general) is that the city is extremely difficult to navigate. I think Seville is where Magellan truly learned to navigate!

Yelp
We loved staying here during Santa Semana, Easter week, because though the parades are wonderful, the streets are so crowded that you can't move. This hotel is a bit away from the center of Sevilla. The decor and charm of its courtyard is very welcoming as are the people. The breakfasts were good and we enjoyed dinner in the courtyard one night which was also very nice. There is a raised pool that my kids said was freezing, but if you can get a chair in the sun, it was very relaxing way to end the day. The rooms were large and very charming and airy. A lovely choice!!

Yelp
Nice place to stay with a good location. Good rooms that appreciate that you probably want to be out and about on vacation rather than lounging around, but really strong amenities/etc. If you are the type of high-flying, first class, Mr. Moneybags type of traveler, you will love that they give you a welcome drink, have lots of common areas, etc. As a couple of regular Joe types that splurged on a trip to Spain, my wife and I felt slightly out of place, in part because pretty much all we want from a vacation hotel is a place with a comfortable bed where you can take a great hot shower, with a good location. So, the welcome drink, beautiful common area lounges, etc. all felt like overkill. The location is fantastic, and it's nice that it's tucked away in a little plaza away from the noise of bustling Seville. On the minus side, the main thing that we didn't enjoy was the hotel restaurant. We felt slightly suckered into eating there because the hotel staff praised it incredibly highly relative to other food options in the area, but not only was it more of a straight-up "European fine dining Zagat Michelin Star etc." experience, but it didn't feel particularly local to Seville or Spain. That might be more our mistake than the restaurant's itself, but we really came to Spain for the tapas, and down-home chill-out-and-hang-out tapas place this was not.

Yelp
Stayed here using SPG points. It's definitely a charming place but also had some drawbacks. Biggest issue that I had with it is that it isn't very close to the major touristy things - it's about a 15 minute walk. Not terrible, but not that close either. What the hotel did have going for it was the excellent service, cleanliness of the rooms, and the fast wifi. Overall, a positive experience but people should definitely be mindful of its location.

Yelp
We checked into this highly rated quaint boutique hotel late in the evening due to flight delay. Cab ride from airport was 23 euros. We spent an uncomfortable first night in room #30 on the 3rd floor (we had forgotten another reviewer's prior warning about it): a.SMALL room with very tight bathroom space, odd showering jet, dim lighting, and limited electrical charging outlets. Plugging our Waterpik into the socket right by the sink caused a short, further adding to our misery. Thankfully we were able to change to a much more spacious and comfortable room on the first floor fronting an open patio with a window looking out the hallway. Room comes with a large closet and a roomy bathroom. The hotel common areas are very cozy and charming. Staff were courteous and helpful. The hotel is located on a narrow alley northeast of the city center (15-20 minute walk); finding one's way through the maze of cobblestone alleys can be challenging. However we were able to walk to all the major sightseeing attractions without issues. The hotel has an acclaimed restaurant that serves breakfast (buffet at 22 euros pp) and dinner (tasting menu 55 euros pp). There are many good tapas restaurants, shops and a supermarket in a vibrant neighborhood along Calle Aquilas & Plaza de la Alfalfa a few minutes walk away. Hotel WiFi was fast. English TV channels only access business news; no channel listing in room. Rooms were very warm during day. The hotel does not provide small hand towels. We had thought it's a Spanish thing until it's disproved when we checked into another Malaga Marriott SPG Hotel.

Yelp
Charming place, near enough old center without being too close. Quiet, staff not obtrusive, zen ambiance rooftop pool, nice common spaces, including interior patio for drinks, tapas, etc. Restaurant very good. Breakfast not cheap but generous and high quality. That, and free oranges! Loved it.

Yelp
Super cute! I loved it here! The front dest spoke great English and was very helpful. The breakfast buffet was great! Also we were resting and looked out the window to a parade down the street which started and ended in the hotel driveway at the church, it was a lovely surprise!
