Refugee for those who need some open space in this crowded city. This park has such different vibes in different seasons. You can sit & read, or work on your writing or just sit with your partner. Especially on rainy days, it feels amazing to just watch from the bridge or under the thick trees that provide relief from rain while giving you beautiful views.

Lovely little park with a splash pad and a zoo with weekly vendors. Well maintained, plenty of grass space. Splash pad certainly isn’t comparable to others- lots of standing water, not colourful and not much going on. Didn’t see any picnic tables so if there are any there aren’t many.

Riverdale Park is located east of Toronto with a rich history starting late 18th century. This park has two sides separated by a foot over bridge. It also has a farm to visit. Great place to have a walk or just enjoy the evening with friends and family. Fabulous view of downtown. It is a huge park with lots of activities to do.

Riverdale Park during spring, summer, fall can be one of the most peaceful relaxing areas of Cabbagetown. Not the largest of any parks but it's age of tree canopy makes it one of the nicest areas to just walk through, stop and enjoy one of the many benches. We would spend many days picking out takeout and relaxing with breakfast or lunch in the park and then a walk around the area. Evenings included a walk with our dog after dinner through Riverdale Park. Many families enjoy the local water pad to cool off in the summer. The local Farmers market is held every week on Tuesday at the entrance where fresh vegetables and specialties are sold like home made honey. The gardens are all well kept each years and an added attraction to the entrance. Not much parking available but many come into the park area on foot or bikes. Great spot for children and families. To the North of the park is Toronto Necropolis Cemetery. To the South is Riverdale Farm and also the entrance to Riverdale Park West. You can view much of the Farm through park fences. Looking over towards Riverdale Park East much of that area can be seen and amazing sunsets. Towards the Riverdale Farm you can take one of three trails that wind down through areas that used to be the Historic Riverdale Zoo from the 1800's to 1974.

Absolutely enchanting park with stunning red maple trees that create a picturesque atmosphere. A cool haven for nature lovers—serene, well-maintained, and perfect for a peaceful escape. Highly recommended!"

Beautiful park. Great place to visit with a family or go for a walk. They got animals, and everything is running well.

As it was quoted in toronto.ca:"Riverdale Park East features two ball diamonds, three multipurpose sports fields, a running track, seven tennis courts, an artificial outdoor ice rink and ball hockey pad, a picnic area and a children's playground."

It's a nice enough open space with a picnic table set up that makes it possible to bring a large group and sit down. The picnic tables are in front of Riverdale Farm. In terms of "playground", it isn't one. The draw here is the farm. There are enough animals in there that kids can view (the chicken coup was closed when we went, not sure when they will open again). There are plenty of sheep, a few chickens roaming with the goats, two pigs, some other animals (horses, cows, ducks in the pond) and that's about it. The facilities are modern and clean. Good washrooms with changing facilities. That comes in handy if your kids are heading to the wading pool after. It's not anybody's idea of a farm. It's more like a tourist trap but it's a very nice tourist trap and the kids enjoyed smelling the pigs! That got a reaction!! If you need food, there is a little corner shop almost in front of the entrance to get farm. Their chocolate ice cream is super nice. It's a little shop and it has a couple of tables to sit on their patio. Very cute though. If you want more you'll have to walk about 10 minutes to the main road. A little amphibious friend was spotted by the wading pool (pic attached).
