Chief Mountain

Got engaged at the top! Brought our dogs too! Took us about 2 hours as slower walkers & the altitude change was an adjustment. Just enjoy the view and get yourself all the way to the top!

Great short hike to some great views. Easy to moderate trail with about 1000 feet of elevation gain, less than 4 miles round trip. Lots of roots on the first third of the trail, which can be very slippery if wet or frosted.

If you take your pictures from the right angle, you can make your friends think you climbed a 14er. An hour up and hour back, goes just above tree line at 12k. Path departs from just above Echo Mountain ski lift.

This is a busy trail. Great for families. Totally doable. Can be steep and get the heart rate up! Elevation is higher also so consider that when hiking it. Average 3.1 miles total. Park on side of roadway. Find the trailhead on mtn roadside. Climb up and stay to left. Great views. Reminder this was a busy trail.

Pretty hard hike, but absolutely worth it. Brought lunch to eat at the top, and it was beautiful

This is a great high-point to hike as a family. My husband and I hiked this with our 6-year old, 4-year-old (and 2-year-old in a carrier), and had a great time. It offered just the right blend of challenge, wilderness, and outstanding views.

Beautiful morning hike. Get here early and you don't have to worry about people, peopling. Great 360° views from the top.

Solid hike. Not the quietest place which is why i didn't give it 5 stars. Otherwise, very beautiful spot. Serine to some aspects, pretty easy for most regular hikers. Pretty killer view up top especially if theres a storm going on, great vantage point. Parking in the road is a little hairy because you want to be out of the street but maybe not slide your car over the edge of the ski resort either. Simple trail to follow. Although you can drift off at the big split and head to another point which is now labeled as Daisy's Point. Hope this helps someone. Also, family friendly hike even for little ones around 7-8 and up. Have fun, be safe and hydrate.
