Bogarin Trail

Did a self-guided tour, only $10 USD each, & got to see a lot of different animals- many colourful birds, butterflies, toucans, a couple sloths, etc. We went at the 8am time slot & it worked out well, wouldn’t start later than that unless you’re doing the evening (like 4-6pm). Definitely a good chance to see sloths, especially if you don’t want to break the bank! But go slow & stay on the look out so you don’t miss them!

Nice nature park very central in La Fortuna. We saw many different animals from sloths, over frogs and a toucan to various types of other birds. We went on a tour on our own, but also a guided tour seems to be a very good option here to learn even more details about the local species and annectotes. Overall definitely worth a visit although a bit pricey (for that reason only 4 out of 5 stars)

We had a great experience at Bogarin Trail Sloths & Wildlife Paradise. The territory is quite small but it is impressive how many sloths, birds, and other animals live there. I strongly recommend taking a guide because it really makes a difference. Guides help you spot animals you would definitely miss on your own and share a lot of interesting facts about different species. We were very happy with the visit. Just keep in mind that with a guided tour the experience can last up to two hours so plan your time accordingly.

We had an incredible experience on the Bogarin Trail, and we highly recommend doing it as a guided tour. Our guide was Giovanny Bogarin who actually planned, designed, and planted the trail himself. That personal connection made the experience far more meaningful and insightful. Thanks to his deep knowledge and keen eye, we saw an amazing variety of wildlife, including sloths, birds, owls, frogs, and so much more that we would have completely missed on our own. Giovanny’s passion for nature and conservation really shines through, and he brings the trail to life with stories and explanations that add so much context to what you’re seeing. If you’re visiting the area, this tour is an absolute must — and definitely one to do with a guide.

preserve located in central La Fortuna, offering an intro into the rainforest. guided walks are very helpful to spot frogs & sloths. the guides are amazing, friendly, focused on the experience. the feeders just inside the entrance are visited by a wide variety of birds. great location to walk in the forest and enjoy nature.

My family, including our young children, thoroughly enjoyed the guided tour. Our guide was patient, knowledgeable, and very helpful. We spotted a wide variety of wildlife, including several sloths, owl, toucan, frogs, and more. He also showed us how the leafcutter ants work together which was fascinating. The kids actually enjoyed this tour even more than Manuel Antonio, mainly because the nice guide and the cooler weather made the experience much more comfortable. Highly recommend

Had a 2 hour guided tour with Señor William Bogarin himself - he was very knowledgeable, informative and great at spotting wildlife. He helps you to take amazing photos and he has lots of interesting stories about the local area. We managed to see more than on any other tour in Costa Rica, including sloths, frogs, lizards and iguanas, and a snake. I recommend getting a guide as we would have missed many of these animals walking around by ourselves. Pura vida!

It was very fun it was raining but that didn’t stop us from going on an excursion we saw one solo sloth, and one mama sloth with her baby holding on to it, the mama and her baby came down to do a bathroom break. We also saw an owl and a basilisk lizard. We did the unguided tour and were lucky enough to stumble across the your guide groups that had already spotted the sloths and critters, without the guide you would be hard pushed to find the sloths and other animals.
