On the Grid : Bachsermart

"The concept of this grocery store is simple: it’s local, seasonal and full of natural products to enjoy. The store has a strong philosophy whereby the entire product is utilized from the farmer, to the store, to the customer. If produce is not sold then they composite it and put back into the earth. You can find a wide selection of organic wines, olive oils and preserves. This great local produce store will help you cook healthy delicious meals for your friends and family. Tip: at around noon they have fantastic packed lunches for you to take away." - Saloon

Lovely shop with delicious, well chosen ingredients and produce as well as bulk olive oil and rice, pulses and grains. I'm particularly enamored with the bulk milk machine where you can buy milk without wasting plastic containers. Bring your own glass container or pay a deposit to use one of theirs. They have a bakery section and a few seats outside as well.

Amazing place to buy local and organic fruit and veggies. Nice selection of handcrafted beers.

Great variety of organic food and basically everything you need in life. Friendly and helpful staff. This store makes a sustainable lifestyle accessible to consumers, so thank you :)

Big bioladen with many great, high quality products and cold beer even. Some things were reasonably priced, but most seemed very expensive, even for local prices. The "bulk foods" were way overpriced -- organic lentils from Turkey: 15chf / kilo vs 5.80chf at Alnatura!? This is 10x the wholesale price from Biopartner.ch (5kg = 7.50) -- that is not even close to a fair price. They are not labeled as "Fair trade" or Demeter, so we can assume they are not. Most other prices were 5% - 25% more than Müller bioladen or Alnatura. I didn't check the vegetables, they may be better. They are not wrapped in plastic at least. As much as I would like to support an independent shop, I can't at these prices though. I will talk to them about ordering in large quantities and see if the prices are reasonable. Organic food should not be just for rich people.

It may be worth noting that while there are very committed and helpful employees, you occasionally also will be served by some rather rude male apprentices that have no idea of customer satisfaction. This is a continuing problem that probably should be addressed, especially if you have so much to offer product-wise.

I wrote an email with the content of my complaint. But in short, people consistently not wearing masks in your store, and your staff not saying anything to them, but being rude when politely questioning that attitude. But apparently this is your communication style: Your response "Wonder what happened - that we are supposed to be so terrible is a bit shocking" totally fits that style...

Love their package free options for lots of basics such as sugar, pasta, nuts, oils, and even milk. Nice selection of beers and wines too.

Best organic local shop of Zürich. They have all you need for lunch to go ... or shop food for 6 months.
