"If the name doesn’t tip you off, photos of Eva and Juan You-Know-Who, crammed into every available space, announce this restaurant’s campy (though not entirely tongue-in-cheek) political sympathies. No matter your ideological bent, you’ll enjoy PP’s exquisite versions of traditional Argentine stews, grilled meats, and freshwater fish. Menu items bear humorous names related to political trivia you probably won’t get, but you might learn the words to a peronista march diners and waiters intone every hour, on the hour. Order the braised osso buco with polenta or the grilled pacú (a freshwater fish) with potatoes, tomatoes, and capers. By Travesías"

Gonzalo Alderete, chef of Peron Peron, shows me how to properly eat an empanada. We also have grilled pacu (pa-koo), the cousin of the toothy piranhas, except they seem to have human teeth! Finally, we dine on a steak that falls right off the bone.

I wanted to love this place but didn't. For the second night in a row, I've had food in Buenos Aires that simply didn't meet basic standards for seasoning. I'll start with the positive: the service was great, and the vibe of the place is a welcoming neighborhood spot. I started with a buffalo meat empanada, and it was delicious. It had all of the flavor I'd expect from a quality empanada...and yet an usual twist with the meat choice. The rest of the meal was mediocre. The osso buco was cooked well, as the meat was tender. But despite the delicious-looking sauce that covered it, the dish (neither the meat nor the mashed potatoes) had any flavor. I picked at it and left the rest. The flan was...ok. I've had much better. The price was reasonable: total meal was under $50USD.

A popular restaurant - and a history lesson at the same time. Popular amongst “Peronistas” obviously - and you definitely learn a lot about the ambivalent history of Argentina. But this review is not meant to be about politics of course, so we came here for food and we were served an excellent steak and wine. Very friendly service and great atmosphere.

The service and food were excellent. You cannot go wrong with any of the choices on the menu. The waitress was extremely accommodating to me and my friends. Just so you know, the political vibe is tailored toward the kishners, and there were chants throughout the night for the former presidents.

I wanted to see the Evita memorabilia and enjoyed the visit. Service and music was good as were the happy hour cocktails. The decor and pictures all done nicely.

What a disappointment - came with a few friends for breakfast. Empanadas- had a hair inside. Provoleta burnt almost to the crisp. Osobuco gave my friend food poisoning before his 40 hour flight. Steak -overcooked dispute a 5 minute explanation what medium rare means. Needless to say we will not be back.

This was such a great place to visit! First of all it’s connected to Argentinian politics and Perón. It’s crazy how cool the decorations inside are. People also started singing some song while we were eating. But the food also justified the visit! We had steak and Shepard’s pie and at the end pancakes with Dulce De Leche that were great! The service was also great!
