Opera House

The Opera House Bar is easily one of the dopest bars I’ve been to in NYC. It is a true speakeasy tucked inside the restaurant, very much an “if you know, you know” vibe just to find it. Shoutout to the gentleman behind the bar who helped guide us to the speakeasy. That alone set the tone for the night. The vibe was immaculate. It felt like being transported into a scene straight out of a gangster or kung fu movie. Dim lighting, luxurious decor, and an atmosphere that makes you slow down and take it all in. The drinks were a work of art. Not just high priced and cool to look at, but thoughtful, balanced, and genuinely delicious. This is real mixology. We got there too late for dim sum, but it ended up being the perfect nightcap. We cannot wait to go back. Thank you to the staff for such a great experience.

Very cool and unique cocktails, each based on a different Chinese opera. We tried four of them and they were all hits. Service was so good, our waiter was so knowledgeable walking us through the menu and being generally delightful. I believe his name was Nathan. Go Nathan! Light bites were good, but not the star of the show! Vibe was refined, sexy, and inviting! A new gem in the neighborhood. Highly recommend.

Tucked away beneath Tuxedo in an authentic pocket of Chinatown, Opera House feels like a genuine discovery rather than a gimmick. Tuxedo upstairs is already an outstanding restaurant and cocktail bar in its own right, so dropping downstairs sets high expectations—and Opera House comfortably meets them. The space is atmospheric and deeply characterful, with truly unique décor, including a beautiful hand-painted traditional Asian scene created by the owner’s granddaughter, which gives the room a warmth and authenticity you rarely find in modern cocktail bars. The drinks are where Opera House really shines. The menu is inventive and confident, with playful, thoughtful takes on classics and modern classics alike, and some fascinating use of bitters—notably Ume and Chinese bitters—that add depth without feeling forced. We worked through several cocktails and each one felt considered and balanced. The small dim sum–style snacks are equally impressive: refined, high-quality bites that pair perfectly with the drinks and allow you to graze lightly rather than commit to a full meal. A special spot that rewards curiosity and craft in equal measure.

Havoc in Heaven. Fantastic drink. Was here for Luna New Years celebrations & this was what we all kept drinking after completing the drink menu. We did the work for you. Enjoy! All the food was good. Will be back for the Havoc.

Opera House is one of those rare spots that feels like you’ve stepped into another world. For anyone that loves In The Mood For Love aesthetic, you’ll love Opera House. From the vintage Chinese decor, to the lighting, music, and art, every detail feels intentional and cinematic. The cocktails are both creative and balanced, and each drink is named after a famous Chinese Opera. The staff are warm and attentive, and the vibe are intimate and polished. Perfect for a date night, a small group hang, or just sitting solo and soaking in the atmosphere. It’s easily one of my favorite bars in the city — a must-visit for anyone who loves interior design, storytelling, and a good cocktail. Great food too!!

What a gem to unexpectedly discover on just their second night open! The vibe, the service, and the cocktail list were all absolutely stunning and so thoughtfully curated. We had the pleasure of meeting the creative mind behind it all—an incredible talent whose passion truly shines through every detail. Sebastian, our bartender, was wonderful and genuinely hospitable, sharing his enthusiasm and deep knowledge of each cocktail he served. I can’t wait to return and experience more of what this amazing place has to offer!

Loved the vibe of this place and how big and spacious it is. We came as a party of two at around 9:30pm on a Friday night and got drinks at the bar downstairs. They have a wide selection of signature cocktails to choose from. I got the Butterfly Lovers and it was very fruity, sweet, and delicious. There was no wait and amazing service. Dimly lit and a quiet, easy to talk in atmosphere. It’s perfect for groups of all sizes.

Had a blast here! Was a huge fan of peachy’s (the bar before opera house). Came during lunar new year and saw a very cool lion dance. The drinks and staff was 10/10. Unfortunately, we had a crazy guy join our table and we reported him to the staff. The staff was super professional and speedy in helping us out and removing him from the bar. The manager offered us a free drink and a shot each! Can’t wait to go back.
