Bar Higuchi

The scotch selection here is simply out of this World. You can find a lot of fine drams for a fair price when you browse through the iPad menu. The prices are a full shot but you could try a half shot to save a few bucks or try something very expensive. There is a 500 yen cover. The bar tenders spoke good English which was a pleasant surprise. Thank you! The only miss is they allow smoking. I know it is a also a cigar bar but it's really hard for me to enjoy the delicate flavors of a single malt when someone is being a literal chimney next to me. I was able to move to a corner though to get away from the cigar smoker.

During my stay in Fukuoka, I visited Bar Higuchi and originally planned to check out a local SMWS partnership bar since I’m an SMWS member. However, after my first visit to Bar Higuchi, I decided there was no need to go anywhere else. I ended up coming here two nights in a row. Bar Higuchi boasts an impressive selection of rare whiskies, and they even offer half shots for tasting. The staff are incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, making it a dream destination for whisky lovers. One highlight you shouldn’t miss is their ginger-infused cocktail—perfect for ending the night. Their house-special cocktails are equally amazing, even for someone like me who doesn’t usually drink sweet alcoholic beverages or cocktails.

Definitely one of the best whisky bar in the world, will visit again for sure.

Absolutely amazing place with an incredible selection of rare bottles at an extremely competitive price point. You can also do half orders if you want to try as many as possible.

This is cigar box and deluxe mahogany wrapped up in a supersonic special hidden-try-and-find-me-bet-you-cant-in-the-freezing-cold-and-im-laughing-at-you whisky bar, but it is an absolute dream once you discover it! This is old school Japanese mixology, where crisp cold ice meets smooth velvety flavours that tantalise taste buds and have you wanting another drink, right after sip #1. This is dim, smoky ambience imbued with style, substance and so-cool factor and an impeccably presented and polite host, passionately ensuring your enjoyment at his establishment. This is walls of whisky so rare you'll need a 3rd job to try the best, and you'll need to raid your grandma's mattress for her hidden nest egg to try the rest. This is highly recommended for whisky aficionados, cocktail bravados and smoking comradeos. This is 5-stars * * * * *

Try the shop original Moscow Mule. If you like Smokey flavor go for their “Smoking gun Higball”. Also an amazing shop if you want to try rare Whiskeys, the selection is amazing.

Late post but really wanted to post this. Excellent whisky bar in terms of selection, cigars (and ventilation) and food. Get a good whisky and some smoked butter and chocolates on the side and it's already a great night. Liked the place so much I had my occasional cigar too. I believe there's a whisky festival in Fukuoka in June -- more than enough of a reason to go back.
