Rating it 4 stars because of the plastic bottles. Too many plastic bottles dropped by tourists & travelers on the local buses. I genuinely wish the government would ban single use plastic or at least no plastic in Parks. Would go a long way in preserving the ecosystem otherwise going by the current trend, the park is chocked with plastic. Beautiful scenery nonetheless. Gelatoma.

Bale Mountains National Park is one of Ethiopia’s most spectacular and ecologically diverse parks, located in the southeastern part of the country within the Oromia Region, about 400 km from Addis Ababa. It is part of the Ethiopian Highlands and covers an area of around 2,200 square kilometers. Here’s an overview of the park: Landscape and Geography The park features a dramatic landscape of mountain ranges, plateaus, alpine meadows, and dense forests. It includes the Sanetti Plateau, which rises above 4,000 meters, and Tulu Dimtu, the second-highest peak in Ethiopia at 4,377 meters. You’ll also find the Harenna Forest, one of the largest and most beautiful cloud forests in Ethiopia, on the park’s southern slopes.

The park is open but not for trekking, you can instead drive through the main attractions. Beyond the park hq are the towns of Robe and Goba, where accommodation is available at the time of visit (March 25) The park consists of 3 areas. In order of passing are the grassland, the plateau, and the forest. The grassland is where you can find nyala, bushbuck and bohor. In the Senetti plateau area there is chance to see mole rats, Ethiopian wolf, and buzzard; while the forest is home to the Bale monkey and lots of beehives. Overall a nice place to visit with a car for 1-2 days. There is an ongoing tragedy in that domesticated animals and their herders can be found all over the park, threatening the local ecosystem.

I had the perfect 5 days, camping was a bit hard due to the cold weather, but we're super grateful for the local drink Hareqe(vodka ), we survived. Harena forest and the peak of Tulu Dimtu Mountain are among my favourite destinations, within the whole park. I already planned on visiting the park with different friends soon, can't wait!!!!

One of my favourite National Park in Ethiopia. It is a breathtaking. The park has endemic wildlife like Ethiopian wolf and Mountain Nyala. A must visit park in Ethiopia.

It's one of the best, challenging hiking I ever made. We take 4 days to reach to the pick. The weather was freezing. With all this challenges, it was the most enjoyable tour.
