I like their crawfish. It's a little lemon heavy but I do not mind. I also like that they give you a side of sauce for dipping. No matter what level of spiciness you get, it's always still pretty spicy. I don't mind, but my friend, who got mild, was not a fan. She said it was too much spice and not enough flavor. Medium is a nice balance for me, although still very spicy (and I love spice).
During peak season they have really big crawfish, which I appreciate. The shells tend to be harder, probably because the crawfish are so large. Again, I didn't mind, I would prefer big over small, but my friend was not a fan of the really hard shells. Maybe they could cook the crawfish a little longer to combat that issue.
My only complaint, which is very significant to my overall experience, is the owners request to take a picture of you everytime you visit. I went twice during this year's season and both times she requested to take pictures of me when my food arrived to the table. One time she even suggested we do a specific pose, holding the crawfish up. No. I am doing you a courtesy by complying with your request, even though my initial response indicated I was not comfortable with it. Please do me the same courtesy, and make it quick. This is not a photo shoot, and I am not receiving any type of payment or discount from you for being kind enough to take part in this promotional effort. I came here to enjoy a nice meal, not be your a part of your marketing team. Take pictures of the crawfish in the kitchen before you bring them out to customers.
The owner should consider how uncomfortable it might make some patrons to go to a restaurant to wind down, only to be met with overbearing requests for photos. Kind of unprofessional in my opinion. I really hope personnel sees this post and considers toning the picture requests down next season. I would like to visit again but disturbances like that are enough to keep me away for good.
