Kater Blau

Loved it .. I got added to the weekends guest list .. I went on Sunday evening at 11pm and stayed until it closed ar 4am. It's a very cool safe space. Photographs are not allowed so you can totally relax and be yourself. There is a wicked indoor techno club and also lots of outdoor spaces.. similar to Holzmarkt 25 .. you can buy coffee and food too and the staff are wonderful. Highly recommend you check it out.

I was there on Friday night. We queued like 1 hours from 23. even tho we got tickets online already.(you have to download an app to get QR code). Then they charge at storage for each piece! So for both my jacket and backpack, they asked me for 5 euros. I was shocked. No where in Berlin like this. Plus they charge you 10 euros if you lose your number. Come on! People don’t lost their number on purpose! This charge will make them feel much more worse afterwards. I lost mine once when I was in KitKat, they just nicely helped me get my things back. And for that small place there are way too much people. No matter where are you standing in the dance floor there are someone passing by every two minutes. I generally feel katerblau changed a lot (more and more commercial)compared to two years ago the first time I visited. Personally I won’t go back again.

Kater Blau was a masterpiece of bad hospitality. The security managed to turn a simple night out into a circus of hostility — impressive, really. I’ve never felt so unwelcome and singled out; the xenophobic vibe was almost an art form. If this is their idea of “Berlin nightlife,” I’ll happily pass.

Lovely Club especially in summer! Friendly door on a Sunday afternoon. Good music and atmosphere. Cash only for entrance fee and card payments at the bar

Came here during the pride it was a really great experience. Very open minded people, there are two scene with a great atmosphere (it was techno and house this day). The entry was a bit expensive (25€) but the ambiance in this place is really cool.

Best club in Berlin - great, laid back atmosphere. Excellent music and good lights on the dancefloors. Really nice outdoor spaces to just chill a bit between dancing. The bouncers were nice too.

Back in 1987 MARS dropped what was the birth of house, some of us were there at the birth 🤔 drum, jungle, not a sidenote to history, so some doorman telling me I was not a "suitable" person to visit the establishment left me less than impressed, don't judge a book by it's cover, without us old farts, your precious club would not exist, remember your roots, without DNA you are just a transient.

2 guys roofied a friend of mine and the security let them leave without calling the cops, looking into their bags or anything. Boycott Kater. Perpetrator protection at it‘s best. Pls don‘t come here

This club harbors their violent, out of control buddies. A man who was too drunk/ high, or just plainly out of control knocked me over the head on the dance floor while talking to other people in an animated way. l confronted him and he was visibly irritated. l did not expect gratuitous violence at the club and told a bouncer, who removed the guy from the dancefloor. But then this bouncer, who is a POC, returned to tell me to comfort the aggressor because 'he said he didn't do it.' Feeling outright unsafe at this point, l exited the club with my friend. Several people at the door began to harass me. One man got in my face and kept repeating, 'Who hit you? Who hit you?' Some began to speak in German, appearing belligerent. There was only one woman at the door, whom l made a point to describe the scene to even though l was being harassed; she acknowledged me but did not put forth any strong dissent toward her group. The aggressor, who felt so entitled he didn't even acknowledge his actions, and got his way, was most likely associated with certain people who work at the club. Disgusting behavior.

Don't waste your time. Bouncer was extremely rude. Just wanting a beer and listen to some good music that I heard from outside. Would not let me in cause he said I didn't look right for the club. It's was 6pm in the afternoon and I looked like everybody else that was going in.

If there was a way I could give this place negative reviews I would. Before we even spoke, the doorman said sorry we only allow people on the guest list or regulars in here tonight. Meaning we only allow white Germans in here. How do you know we aren't in the guest list when you haven't asked us our names? I haven't even said a word so how do you even know I don't speak German? I pity the people that support this enterprise because you are feeding money into a racist establishment that should be shut down. Sincerely, people who will happily spend their money elsewhere. Btw, reviews from other sites echo this same experience.

Don't waste your time coming here. If your not German, you won't get in. We'll spend our money somewhere else.

Love that place. So grungy and creative and packed with beautiful ideas. It feels like being in Hogwards. Loads of little rooms, connected by winding hallways. You'll definitely get lost in there. It's all about the people they say. And that depends on a great door policy. In my opinion, they do a great job. The crowd is international, hip and drugie, but still very open minded and harmonious. So if you feel like a weekend retreat, that's the place to go

Went here on a Sunday after getting rejected from Berghain- if you're thinking of doing the same, don't bother! The clientele were dressed in disgustingly tacky outfits and the music was absolutely awful :) very generic club beats for hours and hours. The venue itself is really cool! Maybe we just went on a bad day/time/party?

First time checking out this club last night. Arrived at 3am and even then the line was long! But it went by fast since a fair amount of people were being turned away... Yea the door policy sucks and the bouncers might suck as well, but once you're inside - alles ist gut :) Very unique venue with multiple dancefloors/rooms and the typical Berlin techno, but this night with more pop. I was relatively sober and still enjoyed dancing to the music ;) the crowd was aged 20-30 and everybody was dancing and enjoying themselves, great energy. Would definitely come back again. Tip: stand in line in pairs of two. it helps if you're with a girl. you don't have to be silent, just don't be loud. also entry was 12 euros.

This club is awesome for cats, I went there about 6 years ago and tried to get in but was told "No!" by a very pretty german lady with curly hair and nice sunglasses. I returned 2 years later and approached the club after a few days of Berghain partying was getting too much for me, there was a cool looking gent up front this time, he had some really cool eyes that made him look like a real cat... "Sorry, guest list today!" he was nice about it, but i was a bit upset at first. I started asking about some friends back home to see who can put me on the guest list, personally i like to get the approval from the door people, but I also learned that they mostly just allow cats inside. I have been hanging out with loads of cats and whenever i get the chance I always try to appreciate their company and adopt their mannerisms, hopefully I am becoming more cat like and will get in there next time!

If you're American and don't speak any German good luck it's a very exclusive club. Apparently for locals. If I could give it negative stars I would. A buddy and I weren't let with out asking us any questions the doorman said sorry you may not come in. I asked why and he simply said because we do not know you.

If you don't speak German, don't bother! Also if you wear a lot of black, don't bother! I got into every other club and bar in Berlin I tried over the course of 2 weeks spread across 2 different trips a couple years apart, including Renate which were denying basically everyone in front of me.

Door policy is just Ridicolous and completely amateur, almost illegal, to use an euphemism. We bought our ticket after being admitted, got the stamp, them we left for a while. When back, we got refused with the most ridicolous excuse i've ever heard, although we paid the ticket and were admitted earlier. The worst thing is we were NOT refunded. There are so many jobs in this world to choose, let the club business to competent and passionate people!

Silly door policy. Coked out hostess arbitrarily turned people away at the door in the name of exclusivity, I guess.

So not worth the time. Better spend your time at Club der Visioanere. Recommended by local DJs. 6 mins away with cab, much better music system, drinks and environment. Kater Blau is a hit and a miss, run down old building under the bridge.

Apparently hostile to foreigners - stay away! My wife (Colombian) and I wanted to take a look at the Kater on March 29. At the door we (as we do it since 22 years) spoke Spanish to each other and when the doorman (wearing a green sweater) saw and heard us speaking Spanish he immediately raised his eyebrows and asked us in an arrogant tone "May I ask you where you want to go to?". We just said in perfect German "We would like t take a look at the Kater". He replied in an even more arrogant tone "I don't think so". When we asked in German why we were not allowed to get in he (without knowing our names) replied: "Because I can't find your names on the guest list". We were stunned and decided to leave immediately since such a hostile behavior we have never ever experienced worldwide - no matter if in Germany or abroad. Dear Berliner and Berlin guests - if you want to avoid to be treated extremely arrogant we strongly recommend to go to other Bars & Clubs in Berlin. The city is full with wonderful and friendly Clubs, you can find them all here on Yelp. In a Club with such an arrogant and obviously hostile to foreigners doorman no one should spend his money!
