"The Real Outback Steakhouse Before America had the Outback Steakhouse, Australia had The Overlanders in Alice Springs, a Northern Territory institution housed in the building that served as Alice Springs' first town hall. Opened by Daphne Campbell (now Calder) and named after the Australian drama The Overlanders in which she co-starred, the place is part restaurant, part museum where antique leather saddles and framed playbills showcase the ranching and film history of the town. Celebrity fans should look for familiar autographs on the "windmill of fame." Besides the decor and heritage, locals and tourists flock here for the quintessential cuisine, exemplified in The Drovers Blowout menu: a four-course meal that includes a platter of crocodile vol-au-vent, kangaroo fillets, buffalo medallions and wild camel served with plum sauce."

When I was young boy, I have visited to this restaurant in 1997. I really enjoyed fantastic meal. After 20 years, I had a chance to visited here again with my son. Yes, my memory is correct. I had great dinner again. Although every meal was good, do not miss dessert!! I've never ate such a cake before. I pray the god I will be able to visit to this restaurant again...!!

This restaurant with old school decoration features outback. Upon your sitting up, the waiter will ask your nationality and put corresponding flags on the table later, which is funny. Among our order, chicken breast is most tasty one. Kangaroo steak worths a try if you wanna have some exotic experience. However, it is a bit tough although we ordered medium rare.

Couldn't fault the wonderful night we had. Set in a great Australian Colonial setting with very interesting memorabilia around the walls. Great service. They couldn't do enough for us. Very friendly country style hospitality. Next time we are going to go earlier so we can see and read all the fantastic things on the walls. If you want a great Aussie meal with friendly service this is the place for you.

Absolutely delicious food! Friendly, personal service in a unique atmosphere full of character. A highly professional restaurant with a homely feel, managed by people who are clearly passionate about food and passionate about people. Lovely to sit down at the piano in the back room and play a few tunes at the end of a great night. Whether you're a tourist or a local, treat yourself to a wonderful dining experience. We will certainly be back!
